It is utterly inane to use foodstuffs for motor fuel. Yet we do. Rick Moran, American Thinker: [1]
Fallout from the ethanol scam continues to hit the economy. Not only has the rise in the price of corn due to diverting part of the the crop for fuel made much of the food we buy in the grocery store more expensive, now the drive to plant more corn for ethanol production has caused a shortage in wheat: [2]
Cecilia Kang, Washington Post [2], report on serious ethanol problems:
First it was corn. Now wheat is getting the blame.
Earlier this year, corn began getting pricey because it was in high demand to make ethanol. That sent prices rising for other corn-dependent products, including milk and meat. Now wheat is costing more and more because of poor harvests and greater global demand, sending grocery bills still higher.
Corn is fer drinking, and eating, not driving. Let end our use of food derived ethanol now.
