Barack Obama(BO) picks a fight [2] he can not win, Byron York, National Review [3], quotes Rush Limbaugh:
Obama was angry that Merrill Lynch used $1.2 million of TARP money to remodel an executive suite. Excuse me, but didn’t Merrill have to hire a decorator and contractor? Didn’t they have to buy the new furnishings? What’s the difference in that and Merrill loaning that money to a decorator, contractor and goods supplier to remodel Warren Buffet’s office? Either way, stimulus in the private sector occurs. Are we really at the point where the bad PR of Merrill getting a redecorated office in the process is reason to smear them?
BO’s purported goal of his, Mrs, Pelosi’s stimulus package is to revive the economy. It would seem to me that spending on interior decor, would be as least as stimulative as spending on contraception. So is BO trying to revive the economy to produce the growth seen during the Reagan Era as is trying to exercise total control like the late Fidel Castro? Does BO want growth like Reason or control like Castro? I say the latter. What say you?
