This is the “Jet Airliner” edition.Since Al Gore has decreed ‘Jets are bad’, in spite of having at least one of his own, I’ve decided to get one for the Bloggers here at BitsBlog and our friends in the blogging world. And here it is. It seats 25, has a built in hot tub, a bar, a full entertainment center, 3 workstations with Full Internet connectivity, of course,(For blogging in flight) as well as parking for two Hummers on the lower level, for the posse once we arrive. Great for those last minute worldly Rambles.
There is other news than GM, of course, and here’s some of it:
- Lights Out: Speaking of Al Gore, I see that energy consuming arena he calls a house wasn’t darkened properly for ‘Earth Hour”. The people in Nashville [2] have started chatting about that one. One gets the impression his ‘global warming’ run is about over.
- MSNBC Activism: Gee, you’d almost think that the MSNBC folks don’t like Rep. Michele Bachmann [3] Tough. Get used to it, gang. The wind has already changed.
- Under the guise of integrity: Is there any doubt in anyone’s mind that the Arab League is a criminal origination? [4]
- Tax the rich, feed the poor, till there are no rich no more:The Govenor of New York State has decided that the best way out of the government spending too much money is to tax the rich out of existance. [5] I’m telling you, in a year or two, in Albany, they’re going to wonder why all the people who actually produced wealth, left the state. And frankly, barring any improvements in the near term, I’m one of them.
- Guns: The original 911: Here’s another example [6]of how just one person with a gun would have saved lives. Can anyone explain to me how so many people were so very helpless against this situation? It’s clear to me that it’s the result of our gun phobia [7]. What this vid from one of the local stations doesn’t show is that the 6 year old was partially beheaded. Whatever else might be said about this, it can be said this took a bit of time. All it would have taken is one person with a firearm. One.
- Flood: Red River at Fargo is on the way down. They’re having problems with earthen dams, though. Twitter users can get the latest here [8].
- Obama’s Wrong:This week,it’s Krugman. [9]Odd thing; Kurgman’s comments are of the same tone as that of The Economist, [10]which was the topic of dscussion last week. The Chorus is already getting warmed up, apparently… and the odd thing about it is that the ostensibly liberal writers are complaining as loudly as the conservatives have been, all along. - Because they coldn’t find a real wow:
[14]I see the “Sham-Wow” guy got busted in Miami [15] for beating up a hooker. Apparently, she bit his tounge and wouldn’t let go. She complained he was slapping her…(Apparently trying to get her to let go…) and she’s busy filing suit. (Gee, big shock). Irony abounds…If he’d slapped her hard enough, the resulting action on his tounge wouldn’t be unlike his latest hawk… the “Slap Chop”. I mean, not a bad looking girl, (pics at the link) but $1000 for the hooker, though? Wasn’t aware they were that expensive, there. I hear he got most of his money back. I wonder if it was worth it, because it looks to me like it’ll be the last money he makes from selling stuff on the tube. I’ll bet she loved his nuts, though. - Lights Out II: Yes, my house was lit up like a Christmas decoration in Hollywood over the weekend. With so many of my neighbors being ‘green’ (Translation: stupid) I figure the guys on the space station could see my house. And no, I’d not seem Tarranto’s post [16]until the next day.
- Another one nobody told you about: Tea Party in nearby Buffalo [17]over the weekend. Did you know about it? No. Why? Because the Dinosaurs didn’t bother telling you.
- The Cause: Interesting note on Fox about Dodd: [18]

Dodd is now flailing to save his 35-year congressional career in the swirling wake of an amendment he authored in the $787 billion stimulus package. That amendment, signed into law by President Obama, grandfathered in bonuses that would have been cut off by the bill but had already been promised to employees of companies that received government bailout money.
The issue exploded when it became known that the American International Group had given $165 million in bonuses to its executives after being bailed out by the U.S. government.
Dodd initially denied last week that he had any role in crafting the exemption language, then changed his tune a day later, saying that Treasury officials pressured him to make the change to protect the government from potential lawsuits.
Dodd is closely linked with AIG, whose employees and political funds have donated $300,000 to his campaign fund over the last decade, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
Now, reports are starting to surface [19], that those employees were ‘encouraged’ by the company, to donate to his campaign. Can someone explain to me how this is any different from any other pay for play scheme? How, for example is this any different than William Jefferson, Blago, and a host of other corrupt Democrats? Hint: It’s not. That being what it is, it’s interesting taht tey’re now talking about how Dodd is blocking our recovery. Blocking? Hell, he was one of the major causes of it. But look deeper: When demorats start talking about how Dodd is blocking the recovery, what they’re saying is he’s creating a bloackage to getting the Democrat Agenda into law… he’s creating too much voter suspicion for Obama and the democrats to operate quite as freely as they would otherwise.
- It’s cultural: Reynolds notes:

The truth is, we’ve seen this for many years in American inner cities among Black and Hispanic and more recently white students. The point I’m making here is one I’ve been making for decades, now… this isn’t racially driven, but culturally. What we see here is an unintended consequence of government being the end all and be all, governmental overcontrol. That’s the common factor, here.
