House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) defended former Vice President Joe Biden Thursday during her weekly press conference, snapping at a reporter who challenged her reluctance to believe his sexual assault accuser Tara Reade.
A woman at the press conference asked Pelosi about how differently she was treating Biden compared to then-Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh when he faced uncorroborated allegations of sexual assault in 2018.
“I don’t need a lecture or a speech,” Pelosi responded defiantly. “I have complete respect for the whole MeToo movement.”
“There is a lot of excitement around the idea that women will be heard and listened to,” she added. “There is also due process and the fact that Joe Biden is Joe Biden.”

The retired Connecticut Democrat also has long boasted a friendship with the convicted Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, whose sexual misconduct gave rise to the #MeToo movement. Dodd was also one of the top beneficiaries of Weinstein’s political largesse. In fact, Dodd was listed in 2017 as the second largest career recipient of Weinstein’s political donations, behind Barack Obama, according to campaign finance records.Dodd also has faced allegations of boorish behavior among women, from the late Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher to a restaurant waitress who went public with allegations in a magazine article 30 years ago.
I an not aware of, nor have searched for, allegations of ties between Slow Joe and Harvey Weinstein, yet Slow Joe has just imported a card holding member of the Harvey Weinstein Fan Club. By taking Dodd into his campaign, Slow Joe adds to his #Metoo and Chinese problems and adds Weinstein problem. Slow Joe you are not the Gipper.
