I’ve seen these discussions before, and Fox news this morning came up with a similar case, we’re a business had a couple of American flags on flagpoles out front. The local Democrat administration decided that those flights didn’t need to be there. So they hauled the owners backsid to court.
In this particular case, the comment was to the effect of ‘it’s disgusting, the owner is using the American flag as a prop to drum up business.” And other such nonsense.
Even taking that complaint on face value, I fail to understand what’s wrong with that. The owner is expressing a particular point of view and he’s hoping to attract business customers who share that point of view.
I’m forced to conclude that people who believe in America first, congregating, spending money, and communicating with each other these ideas expressed by that flag out front is what the real problem is.Apparently anyone who dares to show any degree of patriotism is a target to these people..
Let’s remember Democrat party conventions, where there was no sign of an American flag anywhere. Let’s remember soccer players, and ball players, who publicly demonstrate pagainst the American flag. All Democrats of course.
So the question becomes, at what point did the use of law and governmental power for the pursuit of one’s own political agenda become acceptable?
