Long time readers here will remember that I have repeatedly labeled Glenn Greenwald as the least honest person in the sphere.
At some point in the recent past he has come to his senses, however,.. Apparently, it got so bad even he couldn’t stand it [1].
It has long been known that the Trump/Alfa-Bank story was a fraud. A report issued in December, 2019 by the DOJ’s Inspector General revealed that “the FBI investigated whether there were cyber links between the Trump Organization and Alfa Bank, but concluded by early February, 2017 that there were no such links.” Special Counsel Robert Mueller thought so little of this alleged plot that he did not even bother to mention it in his comprehensive final report, which admitted that “the investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.” Even the more anti-Trump Senate Intelligence Committee report acknowledged that, while unable to explain the data, “the Committee did not find the DNS activity reflected the existence of covert communication between Alfa Bank and Trump Organization personnel.”
Despite all this, this fraud — one of so many that formed the Russiagate scandal — played a significant role in shaping media coverage of the 2016 election. Spurred on by Hillary Clinton herself, the liberal sector of the corporate media used this fake claim to bolster their narrative that Trump and the Russians were secretly in cahoots. And the story of how they spread this disinformation involves not just the potential criminality outlined in this indictment of Hillary’s lawyer but, even more seriously, a rotted and deeply corrupted media.
The indictments do seem to be coming in a much more rapid fire fashion these days. One can only Wonder if this is a move to take some of the heat off of Uncle Creepy.
Keep in mind this rotted and deeply corrupted media didn’t stop doing what we all know it was doing, when Hillary Clinton lost. Indeed, it’s spent the next 5 years playing politics, not reporting it.
Which brings us to where we are today.
I’ve been saying for quite a while now that our governmental and media reaction to covid-19 is all about politics… That when government runs healthcare, every healthcare decision becomes a political one.
In the case of our reaction to covid-19, this would explain why so many of the decisions coming from government these days as regards the virus, make no sense whatsoever. They’re not following the science, they’re following the politics. And of course the press is playing along.
Given what we now know about the 2016 election and the media’s hand in distributing that batch of lies, it seems reasonable to ask if the same players aren’t still feeding us leftist propaganda instead of the news. Propaganda designed to boost the prospects of Democrat party power.
Remember, we’re talking about the same press that told us that the Wuhan lab leak was all a conspiracy theory. Who repeated Nancy Pelosi’s call to shop in chinatown, the calling the Wuhan flu a Chinese virus was racist. (Good Lord, what isn’t racist these days?)
Isn’t it interesting how so many things that the press has been telling us was nothing more than a conspiracy theory turned out to be the absolute truth a few years down the road?
You will recall for example serious questioning of the vaccine which the Democrats seem so high on distributing these days. I’m old enough to remember when the Democrats were saying we shouldn’t trust the vaccine because Trump created it. Now suddenly everyone should have it. Go ahead, tell me again about how this isn’t politics driving all this.
Perhaps more importantly, will we have to wait for another 5 years to go by before we see anything done about it. And for the bonus round, will we survive those 5 years.
I remain unconvinced that anything will be done about it until such time as the Democrats are swept out of power. With a media that is not corrupted, that removal of Democrats from power would be a lock sure bet. The level of anger in the street these days is a guarantee of it under normal circumstances.
In our current situation however, particularly with the amount of vote fraud going on, and the hand of the Chinese pulling the strings on the voting machines that we’re using, it remains an open question as to whether or not they will in fact be swept from power, regardless of the anger amongst the electorate. If vote totals can be manipulated to the extent that we’ve seen in this most recent election, what we will have instead is a one-party state, permanently.
And yes, I know the media was telling us that vote fraud is just a conspiracy theory. Given the number of items that they’ve stuck that particular label on over the last 15 years or so, that in the end turned out to be the absolute truth, I’m not at all willing to accept their judgment at face value.
Nor should you.
