Last night’s FBI raids at Mar-A-Lago should be a wake up call to all Americans. The political weaponization of the DOJ and the FBI is now at unprecedented levels.
Even CNN and MSNBC have begun to realize that with this action, Democrats have opened a Pandora’s box. Will Jacobson over at Legal Insurrection [1] notes this and says, in part:
I flipped back and forth between CNN and MSNBC. At least when I watched, they were not engaging in the expected celebrations. There was a palpable dread that this could backfire against the Democrats. Bigly.
Analysis: true. Indeed I’d suggest it’s a sure bet. The question before us is what form that backfire will take.
Over at The Federalist, [2] Joy Pullman points out the hypocrisy involved here with a bit of History:
Democrats called Donald Trump a fascist, authoritarian, and wannabe dictator for chants at his rallies of “Lock her up,” referring to his opponent Hillary Clinton. At the time, leftists pointed out that imprisoning, interrogating, investigating, and otherwise using government resources to harass and prosecute one’s political opponents was the mark of tyrannical regimes such as Vladimir Putin’s and Adolf Hitler. “Democracies don’t lock up political opponents,” the Washington Post editorial board told us in 2016.
Those positions obviously didn’t age well, as we saw last night, with Democrats using the FBI to do precisely that, and in the process lowering these United States to the status of a third- world nation.

We’re watching federal agencies use their powers not to catch criminals but to criminalize peaceful political views and actions. We’re witnessing a growing campaign to lock people up for their opposition to the ruling political party, which is not only profoundly un-American but profoundly dangerous societally. This is the prosecution of a political cold civil war that could very easily heat up again in another January 6-like outburst, or worse.
I suspect that’s precisely what last night’s event was all about, provoking such a response.
The Democrats know very well that the upcoming election is going to be a bloodbath for them. So, the reasoning goes, if they can cause a violent reaction they’ll have sufficient cause to quash November’s election.
The problem is going to be for them that if it doesn’t cause a violent reaction it will most certainly solidify their losses come November and the reaction that we saw from the usual leftist cheerleaders at the supposed mainstream media give testimony to that. This action by Biden’s FBI will unquestionably if given the chance till the scales away from the Democrat party, which in turn is going to mean some rather intensive investigation of these matters.
The fact of the matter is, the FBI has no evidence [3] of any plan to overturn the election, either from Trump or any of his followers. Meanwhile, Hunter Biden… Oh, never mind.
