The Psycho, And The Logical.

I find myself increasingly persuaded that liberalism, as it currently exists in modern-day America, has its roots in mental illness.

I’ve recently arrived at that conclusion independently, but the more I research this, the more evidence for it comes to light.

A couple of years ago the Washington Times [1] reported [1] that…

White liberals are more prone to mental health disorders than
individuals who identify as conservative or moderates, according to a
Pew Research Center survey.

Sixty-two percent of Whites who classify
themselves as “very liberal” or “liberal” have been told by a doctor
they have a mental health condition, as compared to 26% of conservatives
and 20% of moderates, the study found.

Young White people who identified as “very
liberal” were almost one and a half times more likely to report mental
health problems than those who considered themselves “liberal.”

The prestigious magazine Psychology Today confirms this: [2]

Previous research in political psychology has suggested that people with conservative political attitudes tend to have better physical health than their liberal counterparts (Chan, 2019) (which I discussed in more detail in a previous post [3]).
A more recent study (Kirkegaard, 2020) found that political ideology
may also be relevant to mental health, as people who are more liberal,
especially those identifying as “extremely liberal,” are more likely to
have mental health problems.

That mental illness is continuously fed by outlets such as MSNBC in the form of hysterical, paranoic, and vitriolic nonsense. As an example:

Increasingly we are seeing violence being perpetrated on people the left doesn’t like for whatever reason. Been watching them acting for the last several years, and I’m beginning to believe very seriously that they don’t really have any reasons, which is why they are impervious to reason.

Here’s an example of such calls to violence that just popped up in my feed this morning.

As disturbing as that is, the reality is even more disturbing than that. In that direction lies the blood-soaked politics of people like Luigi Mangione for example. (And by extension, Taylor Lorenz.)

How many times are we going to watch as leftist ideology drives these mental midgets into attempting to assassinate Donald Trump for example? On the other hand how many assassination attempts did you see against Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden?

Sorry but no matter how you slice this, violence is increasingly the Hallmark, and the exclusive realm of the Democrat party.

Notice, please, that it’s nearly invariably the mentally disturbed making these attempts. It’s interesting to note that the leftist Media tries to capitalize on this by putting their own spin on it. As an example, I quoted Larry Correia over this most recent weekend:

Let’s take a moment to consider the difficult time the US news media has faced this week.

First, a white racist wannabe nazi murders his parents to fund his
assassination plot… Which they would normally love to cover… except it turns out he was planning to assassinate Trump, and the media can’t have Trump look sympathetic or unliked by nazis, so that story got dropped.

Then, an unknown arsonist torched the governor’s mansion inhabited by a
Jewish democrat… So they got all excited hoping they’d finally gotten themselves a MAGA psycho… except it turns out the arsonist was a socialist BLM/Antifa/Free Palestine dude, so they had to promptly drop that story too.

Don’t worry, American news media. I’m sure eventually a MAGA dude will do something horrible that you can flog with news coverage 24/7 for weeks on end. In the meantime you’ll just have to keep making crap up.

Obviously, examples of the psychologically challenged on the right, particularly those prone to violence, would seem to be in short supply at the very least, if they need to be fabricated to support the left’s case.

The first step towards solving any problem is proper problem identification. The problem we are facing at this point is a mental health crisis.
