If people can be arrested… as they were on January 6th for blocking government proceedings simply by walking into a building… what can be said about these Democrats leaving their posts for the specific purpose of blocking governmental proceedings?
I mean, if we’re being fair about it, said Democrats would be in solitary confinement for the foreseeable future, as January 6th protestors were. But of course fairness… and rule of law, to say nothing of due process, is among the last thing on Democrat minds.
Personally, i find it amusing and quite telling that they fled to places that have been gerrymandered to death….. New York [1], Illinois, and Massachusetts… From which I caught a report the other day that the governor there is vowing to gerrymander that state even more than it has been to avoid further losses in Congress. The amusing part about that is that Massachusetts has been so gerrymandered for so long by the Democrats in that state, that it has nobody from the GOP in their congressional delegation. Not one person. So, rather like dividing by zero, how they’re going to tip the scales even further to the Democrats is beyond the understanding of mere mortals. New York, it appears is trying to do the same thing. [1]
This has been going on for so very long that it’s nothing short of amazing the Democrats are complaining like it’s a new thing.
Matt Vespa [2]points out that these efforts by Massachusetts are far from unique. In fact, as he says,
. [2]
“The problem for Democrats is that there aren’t enough states to gerrymander. They’re tapped out, with deportations increasing, and blue states poised to lose electoral votes due to declining populations, the lifeblood of the Democratic Party is being drained, and they don’t know what to do. It’s what happens when you think demography is destiny. It’s not. The five new districts the GOP would supposedly claim with Texas’ new map are majority Hispanic.”
Obama has dived into this….(in truth, I suspect he’s been behind this move by the State level Democrats in Texas…) Decrying the practice of re-redistricting, despite his own rather shady involvement in the practice. [3]
Look, we both know democrats have always opposed gerrymandering, but only in sates they don’t control. (Big shock, huh?)
