Back in 2022, David Harsanyi took to the pages of The Federalist [1]to say, among other things:
If Republicans vote, they are killing democracy. If they don’t vote, they are killing democracy. The only way to “save democracy,” writes [2] The Washington Post’s Max Boot, is to empower one-party rule — a position that probably sounds counterintuitive to anyone with a middle-school education.
At the time, I thought it a level of insanity beyond even the Democrats of the time. Max Boot was well deserving of a rubber room even back then… but I didn’t figure the insanity was so widespread. I’ve got to learn to stop underestimating these people. I see now they’re nuttier than a squirrel turd… every blessed one of them.
So, this morning, along comes ool’ snakehead Carville: The Only Way to Save Democracy Is to Rig the System So Much that Republicans Always Lose. [3] As David Strom writes this morning:

Nothing says “saving democracy” and “preserving norms” like totally rigging the system.
It’s like calling sterilizing and mutilating children “care.” A complete inversion of reality wrapped up in comforting words.
Indeed so. I said pretty much the same yesterday:
Face it, the entirety of the Democrat party is rooted strongly in fantasy these days.
Allowing crime is compassion, men can be women, national borders are an option, Joe Biden’s dementia is regarded as being “sharp as a tack”, (At least when you can get them to not take the fifth…) Guatemalan gang members who abuse their wives are called “Maryland dads”.. after it was absolutely clear that your candidate for reelection had the brain capacity of a door knob, you stuffed a candidate into place that had absolutely no primary votes whatsoever and yet Democrats regarded this as “saving democracy”.
This stuff has been going in that direction for at least three generations. It’s taken that long for a critical mass of the voting public to catch on to the idea that the Democrat party is being run by people who are acting in a manner that is at least highly questionable and only explainable in one of two fashions…. neither of which is acceptable for someone with the power of government in their hands.
There are but two possibilities for their behavior… Either they’re flat out crazy, or they are not telling us the truth about the motives for their behavior. Calling them flat out crazy seems to me too easy, too neat. It is more logical to conclude their goals are other than the stated. That rather than “saving democracy” what they’re really about is “saving Democrat party power.
The whole internationalist liberal elite gave up on the need to win at the ballot box sometime after the Euromaidan Revolution of 2014. Since then, it’s been intelligence community tricks, street shenanigans, and judicial interference all the way down. It’s all they do now.
