I see that Bill Sammon is reporting that there are a number of people mumbling about Bill Clinton serving out Hillary’s Senate Term.
My initial reaction to Bill Clinton being the Senator from my home state is one of disgust. But upon due consideration I don’t suppose there’s much difference between them… we here in NY likely won’t notice the difference. They’re BOTH disgusting.
Addendum: (David L) This is a Washington rumor and one seemingly intended to stoke of the democrat base. Should an opening occur the Senate from New York State, B.J. Clinton needs only one vote to get appointed the Senate, and he is not getting it. The only vote which counts belongs to New York State Governor, Elliot Spitzer, and the last thing the ego maniac Spizter wants is B.j. sucking up all the state’s political oxygen.
If Spitzer were to appoint a white male, look to Cuomo Junior, Andrew. With one stroke of the pen, Spitzer would get rid of his prime intra-party challlenger.
Then, look at how having Mr. Clinton in the Senate would play with Mrs. Clinton. Does B.J. content himself to the back bench of the Senate llike his wife does? Not likely. B.J. would want to Senate democrat leader, shoving aside dirty Harry Reid.
Mrs. Clinton sure does not want to compete with her husband, or by then ex, for the poltical oxygen in Washington. Besides, I don’t think B.J. wants a day job.
