San Fran Chron–(04-23) 19:24 PDT MENLO PARK — Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist David Halberstam was killed today doing what he had done for more than four decades: chasing down a great story.
In many ways, Halberstam was the inspiration for the current noise the Democrats are making over Iraq.
I don’t have a great deal of time to go into this, being bound for work, (I may ahve more later) but I must say at the outset, the level of disgust I have for what this man did during the Vietnam era, (How many lives American, Vietnamese and Cambodian…did this man cost?–Ed)… is only surpassed by the amount of disgust I have for the people today who appear to be falling all over his memory, trying to grab some of it for themselves, today. And that nonsense, I think, has barely begun.
