The confused messages coming out of the White House these days are becoming even more confused as the facts on the ground increasingly don’t fit the scenario the left has been pushing.
San Bernardino’s police chief confirmed that the mass shooting at a county Christmas banquet did not look like a spontaneous attack due to the amount of planning, devices, weapons and tactical gear involved.
Chief Jarrod Barguan told reporters in a late-night press conference the shooting suspects, both killed in a gunbattle with some 20 officers at the end of a pursuit, have been identified as Syed Farook, 28, and Tashfeen Malik, 27. Farook was a U.S.-born citizen; the chief wasn’t sure of Malik’s background. He said he had no information on whether either had a criminal record.
Barguan said there was a relationship between the two; CBS News reported that the pair had been married for two years. CAIR said earlier that Farook and his wife have a 6-month-old baby.
Farook was an environmental specialist at the county health department. He had attended the Christmas party last year, and this year left the party early “angry” under circumstances that led police to the Redlands residence. The Daily Beast reported that Farook’s mother lived there.
Initial reports indicated there may have been as many as three shooters, but the police chief said officials are “pretty confident” there were two.
Yeah, well there’s a couple of things about that that nobody’s gotten into yet. Did anybody for example notice that this was a Christmas dinner?
Secondly, did anyone notice that California has four years outlawed the firearms that were being used? Apparently, the gun control advocates trying to use this for their own political justification don’t understand or hope that we don’t understand the laws were already on the books to prevent this kind of thing. Apparently, laws don’t work.
Thirdly, did anyone notice that this was yet another gun-free zone?
And of course 4th, and most importantly… does anybody seriously believe that this attack was not inspired by Islam?
I’m seeing a lot of sound and fury in this morning surrounding the idea that the attack in San Bernardino looks an awful lot like ISIS, and pointing out rather derisively and perhaps correctly so that the president has told us that Isis is contained.
To me this shows a total lack of understanding of the independent mind. Obama, for his part considers that centralization of power is the answer to everything, and therefore has no idea how to deal with independant actors.
Moreover, we’ve been spending so much energy and time on the idea wait he was a government employee, and environmental specialist? attacking one extreme Islamist group or another, that many of us including the president still don’t understand or perhaps just don’t want to admit that the problem is Islam itself.
I suggest that unless and until we come to that understanding, this is a problem we’re never going to solve.

Wait, one more thing. He was a government employee, and an environmental specialist? Well maybe Obama has a point when he says that global warming causes terrorism, huh?
And finally, wasn’t it just a few days ago when the president told us that there was no indication of any terrorist plot anywhere in the homeland?
Addendum 2:Eric
Me, elsewhere…
Regardless of any other input to this situation, the problem comes down to Islam. You’ll notice that I didn’t say “the problem comes down to *radical* Islam”, because I have come to the view that *there is no such animal*.
That religion, that culture, that way of life dictates precisely the action that we saw in Paris and in San Bernardino and so many other places. In the end, and frankly who the hell cares what specific set these two off? The only reason we would care about that is if we were interested on walking on eggshells so as not to offend them. The common thread that runs through all of these is basic Islam. So long as our government insist on treating all cultures equally, we will have this problem.
