Seems appropriate to pass this one along.

Especially after these last couple of weeks with the Canadians going into full meltdown with many Canadians trying desperately to defend the Canadian liberal party, and blaming Donald Trump for his completely proper reaction to the way the Canadians have been treating us.

Actually, I have a good deal of sympathy for most Canadians after watching the shenanigans of their federal government both internally and externally. Pierre Poilievre seems the source of Hope for Canadians suffering under the government they have now.

I truly hope they manage to get their act together. But I suggest there’s only one way for them to do that. I won’t bother saying what that is, because it’s my read they already know.

Meanwhile, we should perhaps look back to the early ’70s when there was at least one Canadian, who happened to be a broadcaster, who looked at what was happening and stood up for what was right.

The response to his editorial back then was nothing short of Earth shaking, both in Canada and here in the ‘states. There was even a hit record, a reading of the text of this editorial, which sold like hotcakes at the time on both sides of the border.

As it happens, I was home from school that day with a rather bad cold, and my portable radio kept me company. A nice June day, and looking forward to summer vacation only a few weeks away, and I come down with a cold. Figures.

One of my favorite activities has always been picking up out of town stations on the AM radio. Toronto radio stations are well within earshot of my hometown of Rochester being directly across the lake. I happened to pan across 50,000 Watt CFRB as Gordon Sinclair was delivering this piece. I had heard him delivering editorials before, but I couldn’t recall hearing him quite so angry as he was that day.

Canadians, and frankly a lot of Americans as well would do quite well to listen closely to what he has to say.
