Back in ’75, at the end of the Vietnam war, then POTUS Gerald Ford approved the Indochina Migration and Refugee Assistance Act,. The act provided for 130,000 refugees from Vietnam and Cambodia.The act had it’s supporters, but California Democrats were not among them.  Their resistance, it was suggested was based on resources, or more correctly, the lack of them.

Funny thing…. Nowdays we see Californians welcoming “refugees’ with open arms.  Why the difference?

Simple…. Back in 75, the people in question had been trying to escape socialism, and were certainly unlikely to vote for candidates who by this point were openly espousing socialism.  Whereas today, the people flooding our borders (until recently) are far more likely to support the left. One group advantaged the socialist agenda, and one did not.
