Why Bush is Going to Win

I finaly took the time to read

Zev Chafets column last night.

“John Kerry is not a bad man. He probably wouldn’t make a bad President. But he is a bad candidate in a terrible situation. He represents the wing of the Democratic Party that is imbued with a sense of its own moral, intellectual, cultural and social superiority. In short, he is the standard bearer for the unbearable.

These people don’t comprise a majority of the electorate or even Democratic voters (how could they and remain an elite?), but they have convinced themselves that they and their candidate – if packaged properly – will prove irresistibly attractive to lesser Americans.”

I take issue with the first two points. The rest do ring true, however.
It’s worth a look.

Last April, I warned you this story was going to show up. (Folks coming in from Drezner’s… this is the post you want to read… the link above.)

What amazed me was how long it took. The subject is one Sibel Edmunds, who after being canned by the FBI is doing everything/anything she can to raise hell with them.

Well, the story showed up again today, in the form of a post of Dan Drezner’s.

Here’s a story that keeps popping up.
This ime, it’s ABC NEWS:

“Interior Minister Faisal Saleh Hayyat announced the arrests of two al-Qaida suspects of African origin one with a multimillion dollar bounty on his head late Tuesday, but he refused to name them. He said they had been arrested in the past three days.”

My gut tells me that there are a lot of very big things going on behind the scenes.

AP::

“LOS ANGELES (AP) – Former first lady Nancy Reagan, who opposes President Bush’s policy on limiting embryonic stem cell research, is backing the Republican’s re-election bid.”

So much for the claim that she supported Kerry because of the one issue. Doubtless this will make for some interesting conversations at the dinner table, with that idiiot kid of hers.

Michelle Malkin: The Malkin Media Diversity Test

I found this of interest. Initially, I’d posted the 20 questions here, given that she had them on her TownHall Column, and was unaware of the blog having them too. (Townhall, of the two, comes up first in my read cycle.)

I find, though, she’s got them in her Blog as well, along with a healthy comment thread… so I’ll link her Blog and encourage you to take the test there.

I’ll say it again, as I’ve been saying online since before Limbaugh said it; Diversity of thought is the one kind of diversity that can’t get any respect from liberals. It’s lockstep or step off. This test, and the reactions to it prove that.

Interesting read over at Captain’s Quarters ths morning. Turns out the guy they arrested in Lahoe a few days back was more than just a tech, more than just a courier.

“Naeem Noor Khan, 25, alias Abu Talha, arrested in the eastern city of Lahore on July 12, “is in the top hierarchy of Al-Qaeda’s external operations wing,” a security official closely associated with the latest Al-Qaeda swoop told AFP Wednesday.
Khan had not only been creating websites and secret email codes for Al-Qaeda operatives to communicate with each other, he had also actively plotted terror attacks, the official said on condition of anonymity. ”

One other interesting point, regarding the supposedly old documents found on him:

“The data went back three years, but some files had been modified just a few months ago”

Sounds like these documents which contain very specific information on each building are being continuously updated, keeping all this info in the terrorists’ hip pocket, as it were, for use when the call arises.

The CQ article dosn’t mention it, but one can easily come up with the idea that those documents as were recently updated were ones that pushed our people into raising the threat levels against particular buildlings here in the States.

It gets better. This morning, we learn by way of radio reports out of NYC, and now by way of Newsday that at least some of those documents which were updated, suggest an attack in the works for 60 days before the election… the math on that works out for the night President Bush is to accept the nomination of the GOP for a second term. Newsday, apparently is reporting this as well.

By means of the timing of these planned attacks, I guess the question has been answered; The IslamoFascists support Kerry.

AP News says:

“JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) – Missouri voters overwhelmingly approved a constitutional amendment Tuesday to ban gay marriage, the first such vote since the historic ruling in Massachusetts last year that legalized same-sex weddings there.”

AP says:

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Vice President Dick Cheney said Tuesday that rising consumption and decreasing domestic production have led to high gasoline prices but also blamed his Democratic opponents and their opposition to the Bush administration’s energy policies.

The Bush-Cheney campaign accuses Senate Democrats of blocking a Bush energy plan that would increase petroleum drilling and energy conservation and provide new tax breaks and other incentives to spur exploration and production.

“John Kerry and John Edwards voted no,”

There it is, Gang. The facts are simple:We could have been beyond this point years ago, if we could have gotten the left to allow us to get more domestic oil going. The Democrats voted against America. Including Kerry and Edwards. It’s that simple, that direct.

Occam’s Toothbrush makes note of Hitchins, ripping John Kerry a new one over his speech to the Convention.

says Hitch:

” in the last few weeks I have been registering one of the sourest and nastiest and cheapest notes to have been struck for some time. In a recent article about anti-Bush volunteers going door-to-door in Pennsylvania, often made up of campaigners from the Service Employees International Union, or SEIU—one of the country’s largest labor unions—the New York Times cited a leaflet they were distributing, which said that the president was spending money in Iraq that could be better used at home. The mayor of San Francisco, Gavin Newsom, recently made the same point, proclaiming repeatedly that the Bay Area was being starved of funds that were being showered on Iraqis. (He obviously doesn’t remember the line of his city’s most famous columnist, the late Herb Caen, who referred to San Francisco as “Baghdad by the Bay.”) These are only two public instances of what’s become quite a general whispering campaign. Even at its most propagandistic, this contained an important moral point: Iraqi civilians were suffering for the sins of their dictatorship (and from the lavish corruption of the U.N. supervision of the “oil-for-food” program). OK, then, we’ll remove the regime and lift the sanctions. Happy now? Not at all! It turns out that 1) the Saddam regime was only a threat invented by neo-cons and that 2) we don’t owe the Iraqi people a thing. Also, we could use the money ourselves.

This would mean that all the protest about dead and malnourished Iraqi infants was all for show. Surely that can’t be right? Whatever you think about the twists and turns of U.S. policy toward Baghdad in the last three decades, there can be no doubt of any kind that we have collectively incurred a huge responsibility there, much of it political but a good deal of it purely humanitarian. To demand that American funds be cut off or diverted, just as the country is fighting to rebuild and struggling toward a form of elections, is unconscionable from any standpoint.”

For someone who gets it dead wrong so often, Hitch is a blinding light, occasionally, as well.

Dick Morris, speaking of the DNC:

” It was one of the least successful conventions in recent history. ”

The problem, says Morris, is Kerry, himself….

“…by venturing no information about his public career in the Senate for the past two decades. He did nothing to refute three months of negative ads labeling him as an ultra-liberal, big spender. He did not tell us what the Kerry Bill was or the Kerry Amendment or the Kerry hearings. As far as we know, there wasn’t any.

There it is…

Oh? I wasn’t aware that had happened. Does make sense though, that he’d like his people to agree with Moore.

Captain Ed and Greg Djerejian over at Belgravia Dispatch both link to the same breakdown of Kerry’s claimed Iraq plans. 

Quick take here: “Where’s the beef”? Ap seems intent on ripping Kerry a new one here. Bad news for Kerry… even the press has started giving up on him.

The Kerry plan, the reports correctly suggest, is long on generalities and short on specifics. This is getting to be something of a pattern, here, with Kerry. The comparison has been made more than once that this is a rather Nixonian, this ‘secret plan’…

Jon Henke, meanwhile, looks at the reaction to Kerry’s claimed plans, in Europe. Surpisingly, Jon suggests on Q and O it’s not going over very well at all, there.  Are these the same people Kerry claimed were supporting him?
