“While Liberal Leader Paul Martin has won the most seats in the Commons with 135 as of midnight compared with 97 for Conservative Leader Stephen Harper ? it remains unclear whether he has the necessary backing from other parties to prop up a government that can survive for long.”

The way this is shaping up, we could see another election in Canada by or perhaps IN, November.

Michael Evans makes the point I’ve made often enough in this space: Saddam’s WMDs are in Syria. He goes on to list serious evidence to that conclusion. Worth the read.

THE BELGRAVIA DISPATCH is reporting that Wilson aparently Botched his mission to Niger… you”’ recall that was the one where we were investigating reports of illicit trade in uranium from Niger to Iraq. Says the Dispatch:

“To be sure, as the FT article reminds us, some documents that detailed alleged uranium transfers as between Niger and Iraq have indeed proved fraudulent.

So why then, now many months out, is British intelligence still sticking by the story, despite the embarrassing forgeries?

Here’s why:

However, European intelligence officers have now revealed that three years before the fake documents became public, human and electronic intelligence sources from a number of countries picked up repeated discussion of an illicit trade in uranium from Niger. One of the customers discussed by the traders was Iraq.

These intelligence officials now say the forged documents appear to have been part of a ‘scam’, and the actual intelligence showing discussion of uranium supply has been ignored.”

Now, I wonder; who would have put together a scam, trying to discredit the original intel, hmmmm?

The Smoking Gun debunks a claim from Rotundo Moore that he’s not in the Democrat Party:

“JUNE 28–Prior to last week’s Washington, D.C. premiere of ‘Fahrenheit 9/11,’ Michael Moore denied that the new film represents his de facto endorsement of John Kerry. ‘I am an Independent,’ the filmmaker told reporters. ‘I’m not a member of the Democratic party.’
Which is not exactly correct.
New York City Board of Elections records show that Moore, 50, registered to vote in Gotham in 1992, checking off ‘Democratic’ as his party affiliation ”

Now here’s the good part: Moore is simultaneously registered to vote in Michigan, where registrants aren’t even given the option of party affiliation (so he’s not an Independent there either). According to Antrim County records, Moore registered last April from his lakefront spread in northern Michigan, where he reportedly splits his time (he transferred his drivers license to Michigan from New York around the same time, though Moore has a Volkswagen Beetle registered from his Manhattan home).

Amongst all the encouraging news coming in this morning, is This Story: from the Brits about the idiodic thug Mike Tyson. (No, I won’t call this idiot a boxer.)

CNN says gas prices are down again, and are continuing to fall.

And have you noticed that there isn’t nearly the noise being made about this, as they made during the run up a few months back?

The reason’s simple enough; The run up didn’t help the President, and the prices falling help him. Gee; do you think the American people are noting a pattern of bias in the press yet?

McQ over at Q and O points up an AP write-up describing the early handover of power to the interem government in Iraq.

BAGHDAD, Iraq – The U.S.-led coalition transferred sovereignty to an interim Iraqi government two days early Monday in a surprise move that apparently caught insurgents off guard, averting a feared campaign of attacks to sabotage the historic step toward self-rule.

Brilliant idea, actually. Clearly, thngs are right on plan, and the people in charge know what they’re doing.
More good news for America, and the World, and bad news for John Kerry.

Any more denials, people? Or can we finally accept that the Iraqis were working with Bin Laden, now?

These are both numbers I never envisioned.

The UPI wire last night::

“Baghdad, Iraq, Jun. 25 (UPI) — An apparently authentic document from Saddam Hussein’s regime confirms cooperation between Iraq and Osama bin Laden, the New York Times reported Friday.
The Iraqi document, obtained by the newspaper several weeks ago and described by U.S. officials as genuine, describes contacts between Iraqi intelligence agents and bin Laden’s al-Qaida when he was in Sudan in the mid-1990s.
Specifically, the documents describe Baghdad agreeing to an al-Qaida request to rebroadcast anti-Saudi sermons across Iraq.”

Funny how this isn’t getting any press… Even the Times buried the story.
Trust me; the press knows, as does the left, that this cooperation existed.
And the American people do, too. That understanding is cited as a big reason why the Democrats are losing bigtime, in the polling story, above.

FOX News is reporting:

“President Bush currently has an advantage over Democratic candidate John Kerry in both the two-way matchup and three-way matchups. If the election were held today, the poll finds Bush at 48 percent and Kerry at 42 percent. When independent candidate Ralph Nader is included he receives three percent, Bush 47 percent and Kerry 40 percent.”

Perhaps now we have an idea of why Kerry’s mouthpeice, Gore, is foaming at the mouth yesterday… they know they’re losing and are getting desperate.

As I suggested would happen several months ago.

Consider what I said was going to happen during the run-up to the handover of power in Iraq; The people who don’t WANT that handoff to happen, are going to be attacking, attacking, attacking, in a more and more futile fashion.

So it is with the Democrats as November approaches. Their attacks will get more and more rabid, as the understanding dawns on them, that they’ve lost.

And yes, I consider them much the same.
Hey… if the comparison of the Republicans to the Taliban is valid….
