More on Dodd And the KKK

The Instant One points out that Dodd has backed off his comments about the Grand Kleegle. Says Glenn:

“Some people were offended by the notion that a former Grand Kleagle of the Ku Klux Klan would have been good during the Civil War. Go figure.”

But where in the mainstream press is this? And why no resignation, yet?

Did you know it’s BUY A GUN DAY?

I’m starting to understand why people have a tendency not to speak out. There’s always some yahoo who will try to shout you down. So it is in life, so it is on the web. Take a strong stand for anything but the far left, and there will always be some of very few brain cells who will try to shut you down by any means at their disposal. 

So it is with this site, I’m afraid. Of late there have been several unsuccessful attempts at hacking this site. I’m happy to report that so far, they’re unsuccessful, mostly because the collective brainpower of the people involved won’t get out of the single digits on an IQ chart.

I should explain that I’m not whining, here, I’m simply explaining in advance, anything you might see out of the ordinary here until these morons get bored with trying to silence this site… on the slim chance they’re able to put something together. I doubt it, but I have to be fair to my readers and tell them what’s what.

Meantime, I will continue as I have been; telling the truth and taking no prisoners.
I have no doubt that as the election draws near, these idiots will become more desperate; cornered animal syndrome.
So be it, then.

Dan Drezner cites the Onion, who reports an interesting if predictable trend in trying to drum up support for the Democrats… back to 1979. You may recall after watching the country going to hell for over a year… 21% inflation, joblessness, and the foreign policy debacle called Iran, The peanut farmer couldn’t figure out what hit him. So, he blamed the voters for having a ‘malaise’.

Along comes John Kerry, who writes a ‘misery index’ seemingly designed to make the economic policy of Carter and Clinton look good, and finding it gets no traction, what do the Kerry people do? Why, blame the voter, of course. Says the Onion:

“A controversial 30-second TV spot for Kerry that aired throughout the Midwest Monday blamed the country’s ills not on Bush’s policies, but on the ‘sheer stupidity’ of America’s voters.
‘In the past four years, America’s national debt has reached an all-time high,’ the ad’s narrator said. ‘And who’s responsible? You are. You’re sitting there eating a big bowl of Fritos, watching TV, and getting fatter as the country goes to hell. You ought to be ashamed of yourself.'”

Oh, yeah… THAT’s gonna sell, huh?

House Judiciary Committee Chairman F. James Sensenbrenner, Jr. (R-Wis.) released the following statement:

“Yesterday, a 1995 memo written by 9/11 Commission Member Jamie Gorelick, in her former role as the second in command at the Justice Department, revealed her actions in establishing the heightened ‘wall’ prohibiting the sharing of intelligence information and criminal information. Scrutiny of this policy lies at the heart of the Commission’s work. Ms. Gorelick has an inherent conflict of interest as the author of this memo and as a government official at the center of the events in questions. Thus, I believe the Commission’s work and independence will be fatally damaged by the continued participation of Ms. Gorelick as a Commissioner. Reluctantly, I have come to the conclusion that Ms. Gorelick should resign from this Commission.

Seems I wasn’t the only one complaining about this one.

“Ben-Veniste’s only pointed question proved an embarrassment, repeating as it did morning press stories fed by Democrat leaks to the effect that Ashcroft would be asked about why he had started flying in government planes and not commercially before 9/11. When Ashcroft replied that all his personal flying had continued to be done commercially, as was his wife’s, Ben-Veniste was left red-faced, grasping at a dwindling number of straws.

But he couldn’t have been more red-faced than Gorelick, who Ashcroft identified as the author of the policy that hamstrung those supposed to protect us. Ashcroft went on from there:

“The single greatest structural cause for September 11 was the wall that segregated criminal investigators and intelligence agents,” he said in his stirring and air-clearing opening remarks. “Government erected this wall. Government buttressed this wall. And before September 11, government was blinded by this wall.”

Initially she tried mouthing denials to fellow commissioners that she was author of the memo. But when a copy was handed to her, listing her as initialed author, she had nowhere to hide.”

The write-up concludes with the obvious point that the leftist “mainstream’ press wants to ignore:

“The Democrats wanted to play hardball, but ended up clubbed on the head themselves.”

I regard this as nothing less than an orginzed effort on the part of the Democrats to make 9/11 a political football. They should be called on it by the American people at the voting booth… and the slimey weasels should be sent packing, en masse.

I’m starting to pick up on a trend among independant voters and even many Democrat voters that’s starting to come to the same conclusion.

Seems the guy is now ashamed to be a Democrat.

9/11 Families Slam Hearings:

Forty relatives of 9/11 victims are slamming the so-called independent investigation into the Sept. 11 attacks, saying that too many on the panel are using the probe to “grandstand for political gain” in a bid to damage President Bush in an election year.

In an open letter released to the New York Post on Tuesday, the 9/11 relatives blamed the commission for fostering “the incredible notion” that President Bush knew 9/11 was coming and did nothing.

THe letter says in part:

“We believe Dr. Rice when she says that the president ‘would have moved heaven and earth’ to prevent a terrorist attack had he known such an attack on our homeland was imminent. Any suggestion otherwise is incredible and inflammatory.”

The New York Post is running a similar bit, in this morning’s editions.

Inside the Beltway – The Washington Times also has something I’ve been screaming about for weeks now; the push by the UN to take over the Internet. It’s about time someone in the press started picking up on this one.

“The question now is whether the United States will concede majority control of the Web it weaved to an international body appointed by the United Nations.
There’s a big push in the international community to assume responsibility of the Internet, taking over tasks now handled by the U.S. Congress-established Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), based in Los Angeles. “

The Washington Times: Inside the Beltway this morning has a note about yet another Richard Clarke lie…

“We met with the families. We heard their stories, and we put pictures of their fallen children on our desks,” Mr. Clarke writes of the December 1988 bombing. “The town [of Lockerbie] had opened its hearts to the families of all of the victims. Lockerbie had donated stones for a cairn, a Scottish memorial rock pile, one rock for every victim. Joined by my colleague Randy Beers, we drove to the cemetery and selected a site for the cairn.”
“He is a phony,” Mr. Duggan says. “I know something about this, and no family member ever dealt with Clarke. We dealt with Randy Beers long after the cairn was built. The NSC staffer assigned to the Pan Am families was Richard Canas.
“Clark and Beers never ‘selected the site’ — I did, and attached my site drawings to the legislation the families were proposing to erect the cairn,” Mr. Duggan tells Inside the Beltway.
The counsel adds: “The Pan Am 103 cairn in Arlington Cemetery is not a ‘rock pile,’ but a monument of 270 large stones, carefully cut so they fit together to memorialize each of the victims. He obviously never even saw a photo of the cairn, nor did he have photos of the victims’ children on his desk.”

The White House has posted last night’s press conference. You may as actually well read it and see what the president actually has to say, and analyze it.

The press won’t.

Joel Mowbray will obvously never have a job at the New York Times.. and he seems just as happy, that way:
