Daschle satisfied with war progress:
PIERRE – Sen. Tom Daschle, D-S.D., on Thursday praised the Bush administration’s war and nation-building work in Iraq and said he has no serious concerns about the lack of weapons of mass destruction.
Daschle told state chamber of commerce representatives meeting in the South Dakota capital that he is satisfied with the way things are going in Iraq.
‘I give the effort overall real credit,’ Daschle said. ‘It is a good thing Saddam Hussein is no longer in power. It is a good thing we are democratizing the country.’
He said he is not upset about the debate over pre-war intelligence on weapons of mass destruction, an issue that has dogged President Bush as Democratic presidential contenders have slogged through the primary season.
‘We can argue about the WMD and what we should have known,’ Daschle, the Senate minority leader, said.
Daschle took a different tone when he and other congressional leaders met with Bush in late January to discuss the intelligence snafu.”

Sounds like someone understands that he could lose his seat if he keeps his mouth running. This is a 180 degree turnaround from his position of just a few weeks ago, back when Rubber Duck Dean was in front….

“I have to vent,” Mr. (Gerald W.) McEntee, the often blunt leader of the nation’s largest public service union, said in a leisurely interview in his office here. “I think he’s nuts.”
Ummmm. Yeah. Brilliant. OK, in no particular order, then:
* The one farthest to the left turns out to be the one who needs the “I love me” jacket.
* Nobody noticed this little problem until he’d already been leading the race for the nomination for months.
*Many of his supporters still think he’s the best one to represent both them and America as a whole.
*The Democrats let themselves be pushed off the left side of the map by someone whose little red wagon is missing three of it’s wheels.
* The foaming at the mouth didn’t strike these people as a bit odd… they thought it was normal.
* After making this discovery, the Democarts haven’t changed their positon on much of anything…. no so anyone would notice, at least.
Logic seems to suggest that if Dean’s nuts, we should start looking closely at the rest of ’em.

12.8 million means that President Bush raised more money in January than Kerry and Edwards combined. Most of it from small donors.
Feb. 20 (Bloomberg) — President George W. Bush raised $12.8 million in January for his election campaign, more than Democratic rivals John Kerry and John Edwards combined.
Bush has amassed a record $143.5 million through the end of January since his fundraising began last May, his campaign said in an e-mailed statement. In January, 71,000 people gave an average $175 contribution, and the campaign had $104.5 million cash on hand at the end of the month, the campaign said.
Kerry raised about $7 million from Jan. 1 to mid-February and North Carolina Senator Edwards raised $3.3 million from the Jan. 19 Iowa caucuses to Feb. 13, his campaign said last week. ”

President Bush insists his tax cuts are a big reason for the economy’s rebound. ‘Tax relief was a vital part of this economic recovery,’ he said Monday at a window plant in Tampa, repeating a theme in many of his recent speeches.”
If it’s good news and involves Mr Bush, they won’t run it where people can see it. Baseless accusations about military drills, though, they give the front page to.
