RNC Chairman Ed Gillespie speaks at the Washoe County Lincoln Day Dinner in Reno, Nev., today and the gloves come off again, with regards to Sen. Kerry.
The Note has a preview:
‘One of Senator Kerry’s campaign consultants was recently quoted in the New York Times saying, ‘Everything is on the table…..Everything.’
‘We know that ‘everything’ means taking slanderous charges against the President of the United States, funneling money to shadow organizations in voter suppression tactics, and spreading lies on the Internet.’ ‘It’s only February and they have made it clear they intend to run the direct the dirtiest campaign in modern presidential politics. This is because they don’t want a debate on the issues, and they don’t want to run on Sen. Kerry’s record. I guess I can’t blame them for that.’
‘We as a party can not sink to their level. We must stick to the truth in this race.’ “

A BitsBlog first; I’m actually going to link to Mickey Kaus
He points to a 1998 article in the Boston Herald:
September 2, 1998 Wednesday FIRST EDITION
SECTION: NEWS; Pg. 008
LENGTH: 811 words
HEADLINE: Inside Track; Job seeker is model constituent
BYLINE: By GAYLE FEE & LAURA RAPOSA
BODY:
Question of the day: Who was the statuesque blonde strutting out of Sen. John Kerry’s palatial Louisburg Square manse late Monday night when Kerry’s wife, heiress Teresa Heinz, was on Nantucket?
We are told she is [name omitted] a 22-year-old Harvard student and former model who, Kerry’s people claim, was dropping off a resume.
Our spies on the Square say the stunning Southern gal, dressed in oh-so-chic black, arrived at Kerry’s townhouse around 11:15 p.m. and left just before the clock struck 12.
“He was very kind to me. He offered to pass my resume along,” [the student] told the Track.

Maripat over at Right We Are! suggests that
If Kerry implodes, I’m not worried about Dean. I’m worried that this would be the perfect opportunity for Hillary to get the Dem nomination for President.
Well first off, don’t worry. I’ve been predictiing her making a move anyway. And I’m not worried; the American voter simply isn’t that stupid.
But secondly, assuming he doesn’t implode…(and I tend to think he will not; this happened before the 2000 cycle, and is why Gore’s people didn’t vet him in the first place, as a VP….) Imagine with me if you will the target rich environment provided by a Kerry/Clinton ticket, eh?

Apparently I was wrong….Drudge’s lead had nothing to do with the Taipei Times story.
Rather, Drudge is reporting that there are some questions about John Kerry and an intern of his and some questionable activity, there…….. Both Dean and Clark had been suggesting there was going to be a major issue over it. Which in turn, may very well explain why Dean flip-flopped on leaving the race after Wisconsin.
Developing.
So what happens to all that money he borrowed from his wife to run this election campiagn, I wonder?
