The way Democrats rallied around him was worse than the way the Republicans had rallied around Nixon. Worse for two reasons. First, I had voted for him. He was a Democrat! They weren’t supposed to do things like that. Second, his bald faced lying and manipulation of an obviously willing-to-be-manipulated press left no doubt of his moral bankruptcy (and the bankruptcy of the press). The way his party rallied around him left no doubt about their bankruptcy as well. Because of his success in beating scandals that no one had ever beaten before, his tactics were studied, improved, and implemented by other Democrats.

I noted Dick Morris on Hanity and Colmes last night. So did Boortz, apparently.
Morris is still convinced based on his understanding of the Clintons, that Hillary will run.
I am, as well. At the least, she will try.

Last Sunday Kerry was grave of look and speech and intoned:

“The issue here is was he present and active on duty in Alabama at the times he was supposed to be?”

So, Monday morning the pay stubs show up, showing Bush did exactly what he’d said… he did what he was supposed to do.  Kerry’s comment?

“It’s not an issue that I’ve chosen to create.”

Amazing how quickly he backpeddals on his claims, isn’t it?

And let’s call this the way it is; even assuming we didn’t have the evdience produced on Monday.. and even assuming we had any question whatever in our minds on this…. we KNOW where John F’ing Kerry was when Mr. Bush was serving his country…  Kerry was trailing around Hanoi Jane Fonda, protesting against not the war, but our country. Those records are all too available,a nd will be used soon, I doubt not. In fact, I suspect that the Republicans won’t need to respond, so loud will the outcry be against this lothesome slimeball, Kerry.

And in all of this, one more thing has come out to raise serous questions about Kerry; He’s equated Guard service with ‘running to Canada’. Since the largest segment of the military is reservists… well, not only will this not sell with the military vote (Who won’t vote for him anyway) but it raises serious issues of how he really feels about our military. For all his “I served in Vietnam’ nonsense, he’s just revealed himself as another one who lothes the nature of the military.

Speaking of which; isn’t it interesting that suddenly Military service is of import to the Democrats? Interesting shift from a few years back when we were told that Clinton’s draft-dodge didn’t matter.

And Clark’s campaign site is showing a rather strange lack of events after tonight.

‘Eight of the largest and most prominent liberal soft-money funds — known as 527s after a section of the federal tax code — have raised less than 10 percent of their expected outlays for the 2004 election.’ “

Which is about what I predicted as you’ll recall.

Dhimmi Watch is reporting something which the RNC should be all over in about 30 seconds or less:

A look into history shows that the last two Democrats who were nominated AND won Tennesee, were Mondale and Dukakas.

Reuters is reporting:

“A massive car bomb killed about 50 people at a police station south of Baghdad on Tuesday as civilians lined up to apply for jobs, in one of the deadliest attacks on Iraqis working with U.S. occupation forces. ”

It stirkes me in reading this that the aid being called for in that intercepted memo has already begun.

I’ve been asked via email why I haven’t commented on THIS yet:

“STEVENS POINT, Wis., Feb. 9 – In an abrupt reversal, Howard Dean said Monday that he would not back out of the Democratic presidential race regardless of what happened in Wisconsin’s primary on Feb. 17.”

I guess the biggest reason is this kind of reversals form Dean are no shock to anyone. I will add though that were the stuations different, and were Kerry losing his shirt like Dean is, we’d see Kerry doing the same flip-flops…. It’s endemic to the breed, I think.

PCRM’s attacks on diets including meat, fish and dairy foods, and its constant demands for a vegetarian America are rooted in an animal-rights philosophy.

The facts on the late Dr. Robert Atkins:

(1) Dr. Stuart Trager MD, chairman of the Atkins Physicians Council, told the Wall Street Journal that Atkins’ heart disease stemmed from cardiomyopathy, a condition that was thought to result from a viral infection.  Atkins’ weight was due to bloating and water-retention associated with his condition, and the time he spent in a coma after his head injury.

(2) Trager’s own release this morning reads in part: “Due to water retention … [Atkins] had a weight that varied between 180 and 195.  During his coma, as he deteriorated and his major organs failed, fluid retention and bloating dramatically distorted his body and left him at 258 pounds at the time of his death, a documented weight gain of over 60 pounds.”

Keith Burgess-Jackson, otherwise known as the Anal Philosopher apparently reads Sullivan, of late, the same way I do:

I’ve been reading Andrew Sullivan’s blog again this morning, and I’m shaking my head a bit. What is it about homosexual activists, (of which Sullivan is unquestionably one) that when homosexuality is brought up, all the rules go out the window, in order to justify their chosen behavior? I’ve said it before; Sullivan, usually so smart about things, gets downright stupid when it comes to homosexual activism. He pukes this one up today, that is really astonishing in it’s blatant stupidity (Dec 03)
