Senator Charles Schumer is not a total moron. He is total jackass. However sometimes Chuckles is too smart for his own good. Chuckles knows the steaming pile of Schiff, due over from Nancy Pelosi is long on words but devoid of facts. So Chuckles is proposing that the Senate call four fact witnesses, interesting enough none called Biden.

However one of them lawyer fellows over at Power Line, Paul Mirengoff, offers his own take:

Chuck Schumer’s moan that “the facts” need to “com[e] out” before a full impeachment trial can occur is an invitation to a motion to dismiss the House’s articles of impeachment, once they arrive. The House had its opportunity to develop the facts. If it didn’t develop facts sufficient to support removing the president, the Senate shouldn’t waste its time on the matter.

An impeachment trial shuts down the entire Senate.  It not the role of the Senate to shut the important mission of confirming federal judge to provide the legal basis for Nan’s pile of Schiff

Here’s an example of why Don Surber is on my list of favorite reading:

Shepard wrote, “It should have come as no surprise that Cox delegated the Watergate Special Prosecution Force recruiting to James Vorenberg, a fellow law professor who had taught criminal law.

Don Surber

Vorenberg hired only people whom he knew or who were recommended by people he knew, and he assembled a specially selected team of some 70 lawyers, virtually all Ivy League graduates, the top 17 of whom had worked together in the Kennedy/Johnson Department of Justice. Readers should note the constitutional inversion here: these were the very people voted out of office with Nixon’s 1968 election, now in control of the government’s investigative and prosecutorial powers. Vorenberg announced at their first press conference in June 1973 their intent to investigate each and every allegation of wrongdoing by the Nixon administration since it had assumed office some five years prior.”

Sound familiar?
That is why this will not happen again, or at least not to President Donald John Trump. He learned the lesson of Watergate.

President Trump learned from Nixon’s firing of Cox, which created a backlash. He kept Mueller, which avoided an obstruction of justice claim.

The president has needled and ridiculed the hapless Democrats, but he also has given them everything they asked for. When they objected to his July 25 phone call to Ukraine, President Trump released the transcript. There will be no nonsense about the cover-up being worse than the crime on his watch.

That transcript should have ended the controversy, but Adam Schiff is insane, Jerry Nadler is a fool, and the press is corrupt. Down the rabbit hole of impeachment they dove.

Public sentiment, the law, and the facts are in President Donald John Trump’s favor. He learned from Nixon. it is not paranoia when they really are out to kill you.

First of all, that’s only the half of it. Surber dives in quite a bit deeper than what I’ve quoted here. You should go and read the whole thing.

In any event…

Of course he was prepared. He knew what I’ve been saying for the last 5 years now…that with the exception of Gerald Ford every single Republican president has suffered under impeachment attack by the Democrats.

Every single one. this is the well-established play for the Democrats.

In view of that well established history how could he not know that he was going to be attacked as well? (As an aside, it should perhaps be noted that Hillary Clinton was one of the people that Vorenberg hired. I know, big shock, huh?)

And, since he was not a part of the GOP establishment, the knives would be out in the Rockefeller wing of the Republican party as well. The establishment, in other words. always remember that the establishment wasn’t very pleased about Ronald Reagan, either, and for the same reason. He wasn’t part of the establishment either.

I’ve said it for a long time, now. Kurt Schlichter is always worth a read, over at Townhall. But this one is truly epic.

Clearly Greta Thunberg is being exploited by her cynical puppetmasters, but equally clearly she’s a tiresome, bizarre Marxist scold whose exploitation of the hapless dummies who buy into the climate change hoax is part of what is an increasingly violent plot to undermine capitalism and freedom. Recently, the cretins at TIME, which shockingly still exists in 2019, named her “Person of the Year.” That’s appropriate, since 2019 has been a very annoying year.

….

But today, we’re all supposed to fall over ourselves over Pippi Longnagging – at least that’s what our betters command – yet it’s unclear why. Teenagers are notoriously ignorant, and ones spewing recycled Marxism are the worst of all. But the idea is not that this tiresome truant is some visionary thinker. The idea is to leverage her youth and awkwardness to keep you from speaking the indisputable truth that she’s a weird brat who presses for an ideology that butchered 100 million people in the last century. And now, she is hinting she wants to run up that score.

Obviously, you should go and read the whole thing.

But pay particular attention to this passage:

Wait, “the science demands” that we “dismantle” all our “[c]olonial, racist, and patriarchal systems of oppression?” Now, what science exactly is that? Is it geology? Physics? Phrenology maybe?

Quick: name a climate change remedy that does not result in you being less free and/or paying more money. It’s actually remarkable. Every single thing that we absolutely must do right now no time to wait how dare you pause to think how dare you is something leftists always wanted but could never talk people into doing until the threat of weather vengeance started lurking around the corner.

And, there it is… That’s the entire truth of the matter.

The fact that the girl looks for all the world like the perfect “Hitler Youth” candidate is no accident.

This is simply the left trying to sell what has never been able to sell before without screaming “it’s for the children”. Only this time of course they’ve managed to get the child to do it.

And you knew I was going to mention that, didn’t you? Well, there’s a reason for that. It’s the embarrassing truth. As Schlichter points out, Europeans tend to be suckers for bizarre totalitarian philosophies. History has repeatedly shown that to be the truth. But those totalitarian philosophies that she has been making noises about these past several months did not arrive in that thick little skull of hers without help. Most societies would call that process child abuse.

And before you start tuning up about how I shouldn’t be criticizing a child…

..let me remind you of a name you haven’t heard recently. Nick Sandman. The ones that are complaining about the supposed mistreatment of Greta Thunberg were the ones who were loudly derisive with Nick Sandman.

You tell ME why the difference.

The polling here confirms precisely what I have been saying for over a decade now… that the rank-and-file of the Republican party is far more conservative anything that either party has coughed up since Reagan, and probably to the right of Donald Trump, as I was saying prior to the election of Trump.

Frankly I think most Republicans are surprised that he’s been doing as well as he’s been doing, particularly given the circumstances.

Romney, forever The Establishment stooge, has been trying to cut the political center for a lot of years now, which is precisely why he lost his own presidential bid. You see, the political center has never existed. Absolutely never.

If nothing else, the election of Donald Trump shows us that. If it changes the nature of the Republican party to a genuine rock-solid conservative party at its leadership levels, I’m all for it.

Then again, I said the same thing during the Reagan Administration, after which the Republican establishment, who was never fond of Reagan to begin with, spent the next 25 years trying to erase his legacy and the influence of the lessons he taught.

For further angles on this I point your attention to an article I wrote a couple of years back.

I hasten to point out that Romney never backed Ronald Reagan back in the day, either. Simply put, Reagan wasn’t part of the supposed middle-of-the-road establishment, Romney, along with the rest of the GOP establishment of course… has never been able to see the level of disconnect between the ideas he’s been promoting and what the voters want.

Most of you will remember that I have been repeating the charge that the Democrats are scared to death that their dirty Ukrainian laundry was about to be found out.

It has begun, it says the Gateway pundit’s Jim Hoff, who has been all over this thing… (with, it should be noted, far less in the way of resources than the mainstream media has to bring the bear and yet he comes up with the stories. I can’t imagine why that is can you?)

OAN reporter Chanel Rion has been traveling with Rudy Giuliani and reporting on his investigations in Hungary and Kiev, Ukraine.
In her report released on Sunday night Chanel Rion mentioned that Ukrainian officials showed her six criminal cases involving the Bidens, Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.

It gets better… Hoff noted a couple of weeks ago:

New memos released earlier this month revealed Burisma Holdings, Hunter Biden’s Ukrainian natural gas company, pressured the Obama State Department to help end the corruption investigation during the 2016 election cycle just one month before then-Vice President Joe Biden forced Ukraine to fire Viktor Shokin, the prosecutor probing his son Hunter.

Joe Biden bragged about getting Viktor Shokin fired during a 2018 speech to the Council on Foreign Relations.

The media immediately covered for Biden and said his targeting of Mr. Shokin was totally unrelated to the prosecutor’s corruption investigation into Hunter and Burisma Holdings.

Burisma Holdings actually name-dropped Hunter Biden when requesting help from the State Department.

But wait, there’s more:

Democrat Adam Schiff is linked to both US corporations named in the $7.4 BILLION corruption case.

Schiff is connected to both BlackRock and Franklin Templeton Investments, two companies that were named in the $7.4B Burisma/US-Ukraine corruption claim that was announced…

It becomes very clear that the entirety of the impeachment process was set up as a smokescreen to divert attention away from the Democrats and their misdeeds.

The next few weeks will be very interesting indeed, I believe.

Eric Florack on December 17th, 2019

The story of Joe Biden is the story of corruption, but also of supreme idiocy:

“With the tragedy that just happened in Texas, how do you justify the Democratic view on gun control when the shooter was stopped by a man who was legally licensed to carry a gun?” a young woman in the audience asked Biden.

“Well first of all, the kind of gun being carried he shouldn’t be carrying,” Biden said. “I wrote the last serious gun control law . . and it outlawed assault weapons and outlawed weapons with magazines that held a whole lotta bullets so you could kill a lot of people a whole lot more quickly.”

Hey Joe, so you’re saying that those people shouldn’t have had the opportunity to defend themselves?

With the answer he’s given here, it’s clear ol’ hairy legs doesn’t care about what happens to the citizenry.

What he really cares about is the inability of the citizenry to defend itself against a tyrannical government. One that slow Joe Biden would see us under given the opportunity.

Wretchard T Cat… (Wow, there’s a name I haven’t heard for a while..) says:

The West’s response to hard line policies toward Islam from Burma, China and India doesn’t really answer the question of how a clash of civilizations can be managed beyond an exhortation to tolerance.

The answer is, such mixtures cannot be managed.

Period, full stop.

Islam is lesson one, in how and why multiculturalism doesn’t work. In this case, it’s impossible to maintain a civil society with a group that’s sworn to kill you.

Making the rounds on Facebook just now, from Kim Cauley, about mid June:

10 years ago I would have eaten up every minute of last nights Democratic Debate

I was born and raised in California by two Liberal Democratic parents and just kind of sucked it all in like a sponge never questioning any of it.

I drank all the liberal koolaid and sucked down everything the MSM gave me:

Pro choice, open borders, less guns, higher taxes 🙈

And I thought the Democratic Party was the party of love and tolerance out there to help the little guy achieve the American Dream.

So then why in the world would I choose to #WalkAway ?!

It wasn’t until I became a wife and mother that my eyes started to open to the fact the the left was actually massacring The American Dream….

I will never forget going with my 6 month old baby as a wife of a veteran who served in Iraqi Freedom to get government assistance because we had hit a rough patch after our daughter had some medical problems and being turned away….

I watched my husband work 60 hours a week to provide for his family only to see more and more of our money go to California taxes to serve the liberal agenda instead of the actual people of our state.

I began to wonder why in the world they would want to open the borders to more people when we apparently couldn’t even help our own veterans and their families.

That was when my eyes slowly started to open….

After that I had begun to get involved in political activism and remember naively going to our state capitol to speak with our democratic legislators about them attempting to strip our rights away….

The Dems (the party of love) mocked me and my friends, laughed in our faces and slammed doors in our faces because we didn’t serve their agenda.

I watched down party lines Democrats push for more taxes, open borders, less abortion restrictions and trying to take our guns away.

I watched the Republicans stand up for the crying mothers in the Capital and fight for freedom and less government involvement.

I watched Democrat’s fight for less and less restrictions on abortions and it became clear that this was never about the right of a woman to choose but about allowing women to murder full term babies for no reason whatsoever other than they changed their minds or didn’t like the sex of their babies…

Abortions became an attack on the underprivileged and on the family unit under a liberal disguise of healthcare funded by our own taxes dollars.

I watched the 2016 election and aftermath and all the CNN nonsense while it was easy to fact check every lie the fake news said…

Watching Hillary and MSM so out of touch with the American people they got side swiped by the election…. then spending 4 years trying to do everything they could to overturn the people’s voice.

Watching the party of love and tolerance so filled with hate that they would assault anyone that dare don a red hat…

The Democratic Party is not one of love or tolerance but one of hate and entitlement raising our next generation of participation trophy snow flakes.

I escaped California and made my way to Idaho 6 months ago….

The first thing I saw when we hit the state line was a beautiful gigantic waving American flag 🇺🇸 😍🙌🏼

I stopped in a gas station and was on the phone with my friend and I whispered President Trumps name…. I was so used to having to be afraid in California it was just habit.

The attendant looked at me and said “it’s ok you don’t have to whisper, you are safe here…. Welcome to America!” 😱

I am never looking back ✌🏽

Oh and women can love our country, our president, our flag and our guns 💪🏽

And I really think I don’t need to add anything to that.

John Hinderaker

Tonight there was a rather large demonstration against Boris Johnson and the Tories in central London, I believe near Downing Street. Of course, Johnson hasn’t done anything since yesterday to justify the angry demonstration. Basically, the leftists were protesting the fact that they lost the election. Any outcome other than a left-wing victory is, to them, unacceptable.

Of course, this is a rather familiar situation.

And as Richard Fernandez over at PJM points out:

The decisive defeat of the British Labour party strongly suggests that a fundamental shift in the politics of the world has taken place — that the non-ideological wave of unrest sweeping the world really has deeper roots than Donald Trump or Fox News. Glenn Simpson and Peter Fritsch, the founders of Fusion GPS, tried to blame the fall of Labour on Putin.

Britain needs its own Mueller report: a full, independent and public accounting of Russian efforts to interfere in its politics. Few people will look forward to this process in a country already exhausted from fighting over Brexit. But it’s essential to halt Russia’s attack on Britain’s democracy and restore confidence in its politics.

But it’s no use. Something tectonic has shifted. It is correct but not enough to say, as Andrew Sullivan observed, that “one lesson from the UK: if the Democrats don’t stop their hard-left slide, they’ll suffer the same fate as Labour. If they don’t move off their support for mass immigration, they’re toast. Ditto the wokeness. Left Twitter is not reality.” Beyond this, it is essential to recognize that the age of giant state projects, unelected global organizations and millennial endeavors is over.

Not just the giant State projects, but the Giant State itself has been lessened in power.

The thing is, this is directly on line with what I said yesterday:

I’ve noted before that this is a worldwide trend we’re dealing with, involving the rejection of the establishment. The election of Trump is a symptom of that, as is Boris Johnson winning in the UK… and what else can we call the humiliation French president macron has been suffering in France? What else can we call the protests in Hong Kong? What else can we call the rejection of the politics of Angela Merkel in Germany? I suggest these are all part and parcel of the same thing… A rejection of socialism.

Fernandez, again:

The future, far from being a stately progression of Five-Year Plans presided over by elites, has turned out to be a flood of destabilizing development, technology and discovery. Current institutions can’t control the future; they can barely cope with it. The voters realized this before the elites did. We will have our hands full just answering the question: “what did we just learn?” “We live in a world whose unfoldings we often cannot prevision, prestate, or predict— a world of explosive creativity on all sides.”

Here, I think, Fernandez starts going astray a bit.

The fact of the matter is, government of any stripe, much less the big government that he describes, never had that capability.

Do not misunderstand me here. I am not suggesting that this is the end of advocacy for big government, particularly from the more metropolitan types among us. There will always be useful idiots, striving to achieve their social goals by use of the coercive power of government.

That said, the rejection of that coercive power is heartening to see. The question has become, however, how long the movement in this direction will last. How long it will be before we fall victim once again to the phrase:

“The government should…”

Say hello to Jeffey David Cox the head of Federal Prison Gaurds in Manhattan.

Jeffery is the boss of the gaurds who were supposed to keep Jeffery #Epstein alive while in the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan. He is also friends with Bill and Hillary Clinton. You can’t make this stuff up!

You gave up all rights to the title “conservative” a long time ago.

Sit down and shut up.

I will certainly join in the celebrations for Jeremy Corbyn and his wandering band of Stalinist one worlders being handed their backsides yesterday. It is certainly a step in the right direction, make no mistake.

As it happens, I find Boris Johnson a mildly interesting character. That said, I cannot give him full credit for pulling off this victory.

Make no mistake, Boris Johnson did not defeat the Labour party. The Labour Party defeated the Labour party.

This is not a situation where Boris Johnson is perfect any more than Donald Trump is perfect, here in the ‘States… it’s that their opposition is horrible.

Simply put, Labor could not help itself from being Labor. their continued push for socialist policies has created a backlash, even amongst their own rank- and- file

To understand how deep this goes,we need to also take a look at the rest of the world.

People around the world who have been watching for the last five or six decades, and seeing socialist policies enacted, and seeing the horrendous results of that enactment, are rejecting it in numbers like we have never seen before. The people in all those areas above feel betrayed, and rightly so.

Here in the ‘States, the Democrats are watching this, and there is genuine fear in them. What was that statement by Butterball Nadler yesterday? Words to the effect of…We can’t depend on an election to get rid of Trump? Yeah… They know they’re going to lose and lose big.

If there’s a humorous side to all of this is that these idiots have been digging their own Graves for some time now. They believed that their leftist politics would be enough to sway the voters to a massive defeat of the right. (Sound familiar?)

With a hat tip to Billy Beck for the list, I give you the degree to which the left actually believed this tripe:

“Only Socialism Can Defeat Trumpism,” by Nicole Aschoff and Bhaskar Sunkara, The Nation, November 2016

“Jeremy Corbyn’s Success is a Model for American Progressives,” by James Downie, Washington Post, June 2017

“Jeremy Corbyn Is Leading the Left Out of the Wilderness and Toward Power,” by Mehdi Hasan, The Intercept, June 2017

“The American Left Has Found a New Hero,” Paul Blest, The Outline, June 2017

“How Jeremy Corbyn Is Inspiring the American Left,” by Graeme Demianyk, HuffPost UK, July 2017

“Bernie Sanders and Jeremy Corbyn Might Create a Revolution,” Robert Borosage, The Nation, April 2019

I believe that people around the world have begun to recognize the socialist “One world” morass that we allowed ourselves to be herded into last 50 years or so, and they clearly see the disaster that will occur if it’s not stopped… and are rising up to do precisely that.

I do stand corrected on one point. over the years I’ve stated many times that socialism would never unite people around the world. Well, as it turns out, socialism has, in fact United people around the world…United them against socialism.

The mighty Bill Barr Bomber has departed the IP and is on bomb run to destroy elements of the most corrupt FBI since J. Edgar Hoover.  To no one’s s surprise but to little consequence Barr has drawn flax, from PJ Media:

This week, the only attorney general to be held in contempt of Congress accused the sitting attorney general of being “unfit to lead the Justice Department.” Yes, Eric Holder said William Barr is too political to serve as attorney general. Talk about projection!

“When appropriate and justified, it is the attorney general’s duty to support Justice Department components, ensure their integrity and insulate them from political pressures. His or her ultimate loyalty is not to the president personally, nor even to the executive branch, but to the people — and the Constitution — of the United States,” Holder wrote in an op-ed for The Washington Post.

[…]

Eric Holder should know. Few attorneys general have been as shamelessly partisan in support of their president as he was.

When Holder announced his retirement from DOJ in 2014, Nick Gillespie, the libertarian editor-in-chief at Reason.com, bade him good riddance. “Holder’s tenure has been marked by a disturbing mix of duplicity, incompetence, and obliviousness,” Gillespie wrote.

One can only suppose that Mr. Holder is pining for a Jeff Sessions again, an attorney general who rolls over for the democrat whims.

The old adage is that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Well Mrs. Clinton is certainly old, is a dog and doesn’t seem to have learned any new tricks. So what was she doing in Jeffery Epstein’s New Mexico ranch? Evidently Mrs. Clinton thinks all blond conservative politicians are equally worthy of hating. So PIAPS has brought back together her old Steele band, from Federalist:

Hillary Clinton is back, and so is Chris Steele, this time in the United Kingdom. They are no less than implying that current Conservative (Tory) Prime Minister Boris Johnson is a Russian plant. And it’s no mistake that these allegations are being made just before a U.K. general election on December 12 that will decide the fate of Brexit.

It started last month, when the U.K.’s leftwing Guardian newspaper reported the existence of a secret report that said the Russians spent five years “cultivating leading Tories including Johnson…” The 50-page “dossier” from the U.K.’s intelligence and security committee is “based on analysis from Britain’s intelligence agencies, as well as third-party experts such as the former MI6 officer Cristopher Steele…”

That’s crazy, because Steele is the same man who claimed the Russians had been “cultivating, supporting, and assisting” Trump “for at least five years.” A sprawling, unlimited-spend, two-year U.S. special counsel investigation found that false.

Oh PIAPS can give a speech for half million dollars but can’t think one new play more recent than the Statue of Liberty

Eric Florack on December 12th, 2019

IG Horowitz may have been unwilling to come to the obvious conclusion, but PJMs Megan Fox says Senator Josh Hawley wasn’t:

“The DNC pays for the Steele dossier, solicits the Steele dossier, and then gets the Federal Bureau of Investigation to go get FISA warrants, surveil an American citizen, and surveil a presidential campaign all on the basis of this manufactured garbage that they paid for. I mean that’s extraordinary,” he complained. “That has got to be a first time in history. In fact, let me just ask you, Mr. Horowitz, are you aware ever of another presidential campaign being targeted by the FBI like the Trump campaign was?”

Horowitz had to answer in the negative and also confirmed what we all knew was the case: that the DNC did pay for the Steele dossier that has been proven to be false and defamatory nonsense that was used to justify the spying.

It gets even better than what Josh Hawley is suggesting here, because this didn’t just happen once. The FBI had to go back to the court three times, to renew the process. To my mind that is absolute proof that the FBI was not an unwilling participant in this hoax. In fact, under Obama, the FBI willingly became the enforcement arm of the DNC.

I gather that MSNBC and CNN both cut away from the testimony being given when they got to the enquiries by Josh Hawley.

One can fully understand why. We are now at a point where the National Enquirer is more accurate than either of them. They’d rather we didn’t remember that point.

It was just last year when I got lectured by the proprietor of a formerly mainstream website now gone leftist, about how I needed to use “credible news sources”.

Just chew on that one for a while..
