Mrs. Clinton’s Paid Endorsement.

We now know how Mrs. Clinton gets her political endorsements.  She buys them.

February 15, 2007 — Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign reached a deal to pay a key South Carolina black leader’s consulting firm more than $200,000 just days before he agreed to endorse her run for president, it was revealed yesterday.

Selling out for  money makes Darrell Jackson a whore and buying the services of a whore, make Mrs. Clinton a whore-monger.  Shocking?

We now have a new question for everybody who has endorsed Mrs. Clinton:  How much were you paid?   Mrs. Clinton is handing out money.  Expect to hear from the Reverend Jackson.

* As you can imagine, the weather around here is something of a priority for me.  At the moment, we’ve caught perhaps an additional foot of snow to lay on top of what we already had for about the last week or so.  That resulted in school closings again today, as well as most businesses being knocked out of action by 130 this afternoon.

Personally I was dealing with some additional action; Donna’s been dealing with a tooth problem, and needed an emergency visit to the Dentist… so I hadda run home from work today to take her over there. I don’t like doing that, on last minute, but in this case I didn’t have a great deal of choice.  But it is a little difficult to convince the people you’re working for that should take the commitments you’ve made to them seriously, when these things come up. I work with a nice bunch of people.  They pretty much know what’s going on when I make a request like that, but still, it bothers me.

As for the snow,  I see Billy is making note of it. He’s about 90 miles to my east southeast,   pretty much within shouting distance of interstate 81.

That would place him somewhere around ten or twelve miles to the north of Courtland , and maybe twenty to 25 miles south of Syracuse.  That pretty much places it a short hop from ski country.  Tully, if I recall rightly, has a fair sized one. Those people must be loving this stuff.

Billy also comments that most of the snow action is north along 81, and he’s right. They were already at 12ft. on the ground in some places, and I can imagine what this latest on the than dumping on them.  I haven’t had a chance to check out the accumulators, yet.  For all that they got before, however, this storm is more general in nature.  Matter of fact I just heard from a friend who lives over in the Berkshire mountains, who advises me they’re really catching it, just now. I can’t imagine driving on I90 in that kinda weather, through those hills. I seem to recall having enough problem just read the keep the truck moving during the summertime, let alone dealing with attraction problems.

Oh, well, back to work tomorrow….  after I shovel myself out again.

You know, I actually ended up shoveling a path in the back yard so the dog could deal with her business?  It’s the one disadvantage of having a dog that is an extraordinarily tall, all it takes is about a foot of snow, and squatting down becomes an impossibility for the poor thing.

* As it happens, while I was waiting for Donna, the dentist’s office, I happen to catch some of President Bush’s news conference.  He actually did pretty well. Which is probably why the press is pretty much ignoring it.

Professor Ardashir Hosseinpour, was a world authority on electromagnetism. He was until recently working in one of the central processing sites in Iran’s nuclear program. Professsor Hosseeinpour was working on enrichment of uranium at the facility in Isfahan.

Governments, like the Lord, perhaps, can move in mysterious ways … or not. The trick is in the not knowing. But since the death of the Iranian nuclear scientist, Hezbollah has not attacked Israel and Iraq has not somehow deteriorated.

Heh… Truly said. more indication of what the left will never admit, and the press will never report; the president’s doing a good job at what he’s supposed to be doing; protecting the country.
As for the rest of it, it’s like I’ve been saying for the last several years, and catching hell for it; your moral compass or mine, doesn’t mean a damn thing if the enemy wins.  If that happens the only moral compass that matters, anymore, is theirs.  Thereby, not fighting to win upholds nobody’s moral compass but the enemy’s.

Mrs. Clinton has been caught in yet another lie.  She is claiming “If the administration believes that any, any use of force against Iran is necessary, the president must come to Congress to seek that authority:”.  Yes go tell that to Slobodan Milosevic(1)  and the people of Yugoslavia.

Mr. and Mrs. Clinton attacked the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, utterly without justification, provocation or authorization.

The President, as Commander-in-Chief, and consistent with the War Powers Act, can attack any damn country he so pleases.   Having spent eight years as co-president and having waged war hersel(2), Mrs. Clinton is a remarkable liar.

Now I am not saying the the President should attack Iran, with or without, congressional authorization.   However the President has clear authorty to do so and Mrs. Clinton, she of Clinton’s War, darn well knows it.

1.  Ok Slobo is dead but Mrs. Clinton had no problem talking to Eleanor Roosevelt.

2.  Mrs. Clinton  claimed a co-presidency back in 1992, and still claiming a two for one last week in New Hampshire.   She brough Bill to the dance, so now she to go home with him as well.

I’ve been dealing with a lot of trackback spam of late. It hasn’t really been showing up on the site, but it is filling my inbox with all kinds of nonsense.
So, I’ve reprogrammed the system.  Trackbacks, have new rules… If there isn’t a real link to Bitsblog, from a blog that I recognize, it flags the track back to my attention, but won’t post it.

So, McEwan resigned today, too.

Of course we now have the usual mantra of how it’s all because of well- funded right-wing attack squads… (Really? Where’s my paycheck?). It’s all the fault of the right, we’re told, that these two are out of a job. As usual, the blame gets shifted away from where it really belongs… on the shoulders of the ones who wrote the items that Bill Donahue pointed out. Again, Ladies… and I use the term is the loosest of fashions… your problem isn’t that Bill Donahue pointed out the bigotry in what you wrote, but that you wrote it. You’ve not even bothered to TRIED to disconnect yourself from it.

 And think; Edwards was clearly reacting to pressure.  But how on earth could that pressure have come from the right? And, why on earth would Edwards be worried about what the right is saying about his staff, IF it was in fact the right, alone?  I would have figured on anything that annoyed the right so very much would be pleasing the Democrat party base…thereby reinforcing Edward’s chances of winning.  in which Marcotte and McEwan are certainly centerlined. The howling from the pathetic numerical minority calling themselves ‘religious left’ not withstanding, the bigoted writings of such as Marcotte and McEwan reflect what laughingly passes as Democrat party thought, today.

My guess is that Edwards will not survive this mess… it’s going to hauunt his every move, but not, perhaps as you might expect….. It will not be arranged by the right, but rather by the majority of Democrats… who, I think, would rather see the likes of Marcotte and McEwan in the WH, than they would the Breck Girl…. he’ll go down in flames amidst cries that Edwards let the Democrats down, and sacrificed too much to the right.  I see Bowers is already leaning that way, and while I haven’t looked at DU(h) this morning…(I’m still eating breakfast)… I’m sure we’ll find indications of this later today.

I couldn’t support the man myself… but he might have turned in a respectable showing in the general election, but will never make it there because of the extremists dominating his own party.

Words, words, words, all I ever hear is words and recenlly far too many words about Amanda Marcotte.

Meanwhile back in the real world a very real danger exists.  Sulejman Talovic, has murdered five people.  They  were Jeffrey Walker, 52, Vanessa Quinn, 29, Kirsten Hinkley, 15, Teresa Ellis, 29, and Brad Frantz, 24.

It might be shock for Lane to learn that Islamofascists simply divide the world into believers and non-believers.   Not being a good Catholic, will not earn Lane any repreprive.  To the Islamists, there is no difference between Lane, Marcotte and Donohue.

Dispite Hudson’s hysteria, Marcotte is alive and well, ISFAIK, not in hiding, not under police protection. and still blogging under her own name.  And Bill Donohue never murdered anybody.

You will have heard by now that we’re getting clobbered by snow up here…. again. Actually, at the moment, the accumulation isn’t so bad; we caught perhaps four and a half inches outside my door last night. However, the the box is now telling us it’s not going to stop snowing until tonight. Some of the area is expected to receive as much as 30 to 35in. of snow.

The result is, that the world outside my door, takes on the appearance and the aura of a Jack London novel. And I’ve gotta drive to work in this nonsense.

You’ll pardon me, I’ve gotta feed the sled dogs…

The off-duty officer who responded, Ken Hammond, simply said, “I feel like I was there and did what I had to do,”  That is what heros do.   They simply do what has to be done, a concept foreign to the ilk of Bill Akins.

For those interested…. Despite the slight uptick in spending, the deficit is something on the order of 57% lower than it was last year.

Outing his own wife was not a crime.  However it should make an interesting rebutal to the Wilson’s civil lawsuit.  I’d think it would make the basis for slander action by Karl Rove against Joe Wilson.

Me, just now at Q&O as regards Amanda Marcotte:

…her response (To Donahue and the public outcry generated by her nonsense..) is more or less centerline for all leftists that find themselevs challanged. They start charging dragging out their touchstones… sexism being one of them. I all but expected her to tell us she was doing it all ‘for the children’.

Say what you will about Bill Donahue… but the reason that he was so effective in this case is that Marcotte is an easy target…. because in the end, she made herself so. If Donahue didn’t have at least a grain of truth going for him here the whole thing woulda been laughed out of the public Sphere… and Donahue’s org with it.

Face it, gang…

While I have no real love nor hate for Donahue and his group… on this occasion he happens to be correct. 

Helping him in making that point is the long standing image that the left has built up for themselves over the years of being religiously bigoted… at least as far Christians and Jews are concerned… (Gaia forfend they should ever be seen as being anti-Islam…) That bigotry is not just an image problem…. it’s a fact.

 Nor are these two loudmouths, Marcotte and McEwan, alone in this. The recent history…(The last 40 or 50 years) of the left in this country is riddled with indications of bigotry. Such long-standing leftist bigotry is precisely why I suggested the other day that I am amazed there is such a thing as a religious left. It’s about equal with the concept of “Jews for Nazism”, in terms of how much sense it makes. Such people can be nothing but self-destructive.

Amanda, honey, your problem isn’t that Bill Donahue went after you. Your problem is that you’re guilty of exactly what he charges… Religious bigotry. You’re a bigot, Amanda, and there’s no other word for it. Donahue just happened to be the one with stones enough to point it out for what it is.

That there’s even any discussion on the point… that there are idiots on DU(h)  (For example) defending you, only demonstrates how deeply rooted that anti-religious bigotry is rooted among the left, today, and how correct Donahue is for pointing it out.

I find this amazing, an entire post by Amanda Marcotte without profanity.

I was hired by the Edwards campaign for the skills and talents I bring to the table, and my willingness to work hard for what’s right. Unfortunately, Bill Donohue and his calvacade of right wing shills don’t respect that a mere woman like me could be hired for my skills, and pretended that John Edwards had to be held accountable for some of my personal, non-mainstream views on religious influence on politics (I’m anti-theocracy, for those who were keeping track). Bill Donohue—anti-Semite, right wing lackey whose entire job is to create non-controversies in order to derail liberal politics—has been running a scorched earth campaign to get me fired for my personal beliefs and my writings on this blog.

The truth be told, the Iowahawk Amanda Marcotte as Eliza Dolittle was a great parody, which just didn’t sit well with me.  For while Eliza was dirt poor, she was a lady.  Eliza was every bit as strong as Professor Higgins.   In contrast, Marcotte is no Eliza Dolittle.  Marcotte is only a weak woman, and not a lady. 

So why is it that every time a liberal woman gets in over her head, like Mrs. Pelosi and Air Pelosi, or Marcotte, she tries to play the sex card?   Marcotte did not fail as professional political blogger because she was a woman.  She failed because she is vulgar, crude and bigottted.  

Speaking of real bloggers, I have seen Michelle Malkin take plenty of flax but never once seen her play the “But I am woman card.”

You see Amanda, a real blogger, like Michelle, can take as well as give.  Your problem Amanda is that you can dish it out  but you can’t take it.

I regret to say that I have also resigned from the Edwards campaign. In spite of what was widely reported, I was not hired as a blogger, but a part-time technical advisor, which is the role I am vacating.

I would like to make very clear that the campaign did not push me out, nor was my resignation the back-end of some arrangement made last week. This was a decision I made, with the campaign’s reluctant support, because my remaining the focus of sustained ideological attacks was inevitably making me a liability to the campaign, and making me increasingly uncomfortable with my and my family’s level of exposure.

At least that solves the mystery of their status with the Edwards campaign.

(London)-The Telegraph- Austrian sniper rifles that were exported to Iran have been discovered in the hands of Iraqi terrorists, The Daily Telegraph has learned.More than 100 of the.50 calibre weapons, capable of penetrating body armour, have been discovered by American troops during raids.

guns were part of a shipment of 800 rifles that the Austrian company, Steyr-Mannlicher, exported legally to Iran last year.

The sale was condemned in Washington and London because officials were worried that the weapons would be used by insurgents against British and American troops.

Within 45 days of the first HS50 Steyr Mannlicher rifles arriving in Iran, an American officer in an armoured vehicle was shot dead by an Iraqi insurgent using the weapon.

Well, look, no shock for this… the Bush administration predicted this, though their complaints weren’t credited at the time. But I do have a problem with the way the story is built on the phrase “Iraqi insurgents “. By definition, they are in fact “Iranian insurgents”.
