I’ve been saying for weeks now that the Democrat fed rumors of Medicare cuts were pure stable floor carpeting.

Hakeem Jeffries just proved me right. Of course that doesn’t mean that the left is going to stop believing the LIE.

Okay, if we want to look at it from his point of view, what you stop people from stealing, it’s a cut.

Just some things that occur to me through the day.

* Sad to see Gene Hackman and his wife go the way they did. It does occur to me that at his age he could probably have run for Congress.

* It seems fitting that the biggest racist that MSNBC has ever put on the air, the wildly inappropriately named Joy Reid, got herself canned in the middle of Black History month.

* That Cafe in Toronto, the hot mess that declared itself an anti-capitalist Cafe has gone out of business after a year. Gee, I wonder what could possibly have gone wrong?

* Amusing to watch the left claim that Elon Musk cannot be trusted because he is an immigrant, after spending so much of our money and breaking so many laws to bring illegals into the country.

* So tell me, does my call to end the FBI sound so crazy, now that we understand what’s been going on with those people?

* So the firings of The joint Chiefs is bringing out an awful lot of crocodile tears. They call it a blood bath. Yeah, yeah, whatever. But apparently we don’t remember Obama clearing House of anyone that was to the right of Fidel Castro from both the military and from our intelligence services. Nobody complained back in those days. I wonder what the difference is?

There is a full-throated panic going on amongst the Democrat hierarchy these days. They’re not going to be able to fix this in the short term… Even within the next few cycles, and they know it.

They now understand that Joe Biden being elected to the White House was not a good thing for them. In fact it was counterproductive.

I’ve even heard a few tell me that the only reason that Joe Biden was still arguably alive at the end of his term… (well there was a pulse, anyway, even if evidence of brain activity was lacking) …was that to replace him meant a president Kamala Harris. Which of course in turn, is why she lost that election so dramatically. The Democrats literally found themselves caught between Dumb, and Dumber, and decided to jump lines.

The brave face that the Democrats were putting up prior to the election was revealed to be nothing more than another lie.. which I believe, will be the story going forward for at least the next couple of cycles.

The fact is, the 2020 playbook is not going to work anymore. They couldn’t keep Joe Biden in the basement forever, they couldn’t hide the gaff -o-matic that Kamala Harris is and they certainly couldn’t hide the effects of Democrat party policy on our country its economics and it’s standing in the world.

And despite the lack of a Joe Biden or a Kamala Harris to kick around anymore, that’s still going to be the theme going forward. What else have the Democrats got to go with but the failed policies that were at the root of their problems all along? It’s like trying to sell ricin flavored beer. Oh, there are some that will still buy it of course because it’s got the right label on it, but nowhere near a substantial majority.

I predicted in some unpublished writings that November 2024 was going to represent a landslide for Donald Trump. I said that mostly on the strength of Democrat party internal polling which suggested precisely that. They knew they were going down in a ball of flame. As it turned out it worked only slightly better for the Democrats than I had predicted at the time. Still, for the Democrats, losing both the popular vote and the electoral college could be labeled as nothing but a total disaster.

The reason I said that it would be a GOP landslide is rather simple, there was a lot of Democrat party rank and file, (you know, the voters,) who were making rather loud noises that they recognized that their party wasn’t offering any real answers, anymore. What they were offering is supposed solutions ended up being the problem.

You want to know what swung that election? You can see it in the vote totals. There was a lot of Democrat voters crossing party lines. Those voters recognized a disaster when they saw one. Moreover, they recognized its origins.

With the exception of an extreme minority of true believers, that situation’s not going to change for quite a while, particularly with DOGE on the case, and they’re by a lot of their money laundering tactics being halted, their funding pass for the lawfare attacks on Trump etc being exposed.

To that point, allow me to suggest going over Matt Vespa’s column of this morning

I suggest to you that our future as a nation is a lot brighter than it’s been in a few decades.

Some interesting news about a special election in Connecticut from Votehub:

With all votes in, Republican Jason Perillo has defeated Democrat Tony Afriyie in Connecticut SD 21

Jason Perillo (R) – 53.5% (6839)
Tony Afriyie (D) – 46.5% (5950)

Now, this is a district that went for Trump by a half a point in 2024 so the Republican victory here isn’t totally out of line, but the margin here, tells the story. This is getting into man bites dog territory, and certainly raises the possibility of Connecticut becoming a swing state for the GOP in the near future.

An open letter to federal workers:

Federal workers are reported to be outraged that they have to provide a work summary… Essentially a list of what they did for the week. I find it very difficult to find any sympathy. Let me explain why.

For those who don’t know, I drive tractor trailer for a living these days.

I have far more of a situation of having to justify my existence then federal workers could dream of, for the most part. (Yeah, federal workers imposed the micromanaging regulations that I work under, but I’ll get to that.)

We drive on substandard roads with people that are not professional drivers and as a result truck driving is probably among the most dangerous jobs in the country and has been for several years now.

We are required to be able to pass a roadside inspection at any time… tires, brakes, pollution equipment, etc and to satisfy those requirements the state invests a large amount of money and any one of the points of inspection that I do not pass I get serious fines for.

The anti-pollution gear I mentioned, is very expensive to maintain, makes our trucks less reliable by being fraught with problems …but the government insists on jamming it down our throats.

For all that they’re making sure that my truck is worthy of government roads, somehow it slips their minds that the roads ought to be up to the drill of handling my truck.

I have a in cab camera facing me watching every move I make 24/7.

I have a electronic device on the dash recording when I stop when I go and for how long and how fast or slow I am driving…

I have a electronic logbook telling when I can drive or not whether I am tired or not…

I have a satellite device on my truck showing my exact location 24/7.

I have to get a medical check up every 6 months to prove I am healthy… And drug free.

The interstate is dotted with traffic camera’s monitoring my speed and weight sensors in the road to make sure I am not overweight…

See all those numbers and stickers on the side of the truck next to you? Those are because we have to kneel before several different branches of government, just to do our job. Every one of them requires a fee be paid.

All to bring you the stuff that you want and need every single day.

Tell me again, government workers, about your plight. I put up with all this nonsense to earn a paycheck for myself and my family, only to have a good deal of it taken from me and put into your pocket after you drop these regulations on me and my brother drivers.

And now, you have the audacity to complain about YOUR having to justify your existence by means of an email explaining what you did, to justify your overly large salary and benefit list, that taxpayers, myself included have to pay for??

Matt Walsh:

Deeply saddened by the passing of Joy Reid’s MSNBC show. It was a great resource for right-wing podcasters looking for a clip to play and make fun of. I can’t tell you how many slow news days Joy helped me through.

Yeah, there is that. I mean she did manage every single night to create a target rich screed.

Greg Gutfeld’s monologue is on point with this:

Oh… of course, Rachel Maddow weighed in on this, taking her own network to task for Reid’s firing.

I haven’t seen her this angry since, well, yesterday.

New poll: 83% of Americans want the government to cut spending instead of raising taxes—but D.C. just kept spending under Biden.

– 67% say the debt is unsustainable
– 83% want the budget balanced
– 77% demand a full review of government spending

Essentially this is why the Democrats lost. They refused to cut a cent of spending. Instead, they pushed for higher taxes and higher deficits.

No wonder the poll I reported earlier this morning showed very high approval ratings for Donald Trump.

And the next time somebody tells you that the Republicans are going to lose the midterms because of backlash from these cuts, show them these numbers.

(Source: Harvard/Harris Poll)

Honestly, where do these people come from?

The “C-ndoms for Kiddies” Bill, which installs c-ndom vending machines in preschools – high schools, is set to be passed in Maryland.

Kind of begs the question who the condoms are for in the elementary and preschool levels, doesn’t it?

“Mr. Trump’s Attorney General Pam Bondi, who declined a 60 Minutes request for an interview.”

Why on Earth would she walk into that hot mess? CBS has a history of altering interviews, for the obvious purpose of pushing a leftist agenda.

And let’s remember they’re being sued for $20 billion dollars for election interference. And it’s going to happen folks. Trust me on this.

From Mark Penn:

Voters are mostly liking what they see in the first month of the new presidency. By 57/43 voters say Trump doing a better job than Biden in advance look at poll coming out Monday.

Job approval at 52 but closing the border, cutting waste are hugely popular. So is resetting merit as the prime hiring and contracting principle.

I see postings from The New York Times and from The Daily Mail for example, running lines that emphasize that people are extraordinarily unhappy with Donald Trump. Trouble is, the numbers don’t say that.

Fox News passes this one on;

CHOPPING BLOCK: The Nancy Pelosi Federal Building, an 18-story tower that was recently named after the former speaker, sits in an area of San Francisco that has been for years plagued by open-air drug dealing, illegal markets reselling stolen goods and other crime. And now, the Trump administration could sell it off.

That seems appropriate.

Sarah Hoyt has a long form of today that is definitely worth your time to read. Here:

And yes, I do get that almost all of us either have a job in the periphery of the government or have someone close to us who does and whose jobs are now in jeopardy, and people need to live, feed the kids, pay mortgage, and no matter how much they want to cut government, a lot of people are panicking.

The extent of the upheaval, how far cutting government affects everything? That’s the problem. Right there. The government has been swallowing the nation. And the government doesn’t generate wealth, regardless of what the left thinks. It only consumes it.

We HAVE to cut government, because otherwise the nation is going to collapse.

True.

Any change is going to make us wonder if we’re going down the right path. Second guessing ourselves and our situations is how we survive in large part.

And yes, there’s a large amount of change going on. But she’s right, scary as it is, it’s got to be done.

But I responded in the comment section over there…

And that’s one of the reasons why the left is essentially losing its
$#!+ over Trump. That’s why even some of his supporters are looking
agape at the situation.
Some would call it shock and awe.

I’ve said for years… And taken as something of an axiom… that one of the
worst things you can do to a politician…(And face it gang if you’re actually reading this you’re probably heavily involved in politics to begin with)… is actually solve a problem because the moment you do that they lose the ability to demagogue the situation.

In reality that’s only half the story. To varying degrees, we, all of us, tend toward the
status quo, the calm harbor, the quiet secret places. That is precisely
why they get away with the demagoguery. Actual change instead of simply
talking about it can be nerve-racking by comparison.

And this editorial cartoon explains it rather well…

The tactic of shock and awe, is exactly the way to proceed here. I think Trump’s got that one right. Keep the left on their back foot and unable to substantively respond… Unable to stop the movement. That’s where we find ourselves now.

Oh, you will see I’m sure the number of people on social media going absolutely nuts at volume 11… Breathless, fake outrage. Otherwise known as butthurt.

In reality it’s all they’ve got.

So, to put it in the same vein as Sarah does, relax for a while. Certainly continue to respond to what you see but understand we’re in a lot better shape as a movement and as a country then we’ve been in a long, long time.

* How oddly amusing to see the protests condemning ‘billionaires’ being involved in politics when they didn’t have any problem with billionaires like Soros, Zuckerberg, Oprah, Swift, Bill Gates, and all the rest piling their money and influence into leftist politics, or for that matter acting as a quasi government. Those people get a pass and Musk doesn’t?
Eric Florack on February 21st, 2025
* Imagine a group of people so corrupt that they try to use the power of government to convince you that accountability is illegal.

* I can remember a time in my life when we had so much in the way of eggs and toilet paper, that every Halloween we used to throw them at neighbor’s houses.

*Somebody obviously put some butter on the top of that plane that overturned at Pearson. Everybody knows that things will land on the floor butter side down. Maybe we could put cats underneath the plane. They always land on their feet, after all.

*And did you see the footage of that landing? Did you notice the Democrats screaming that Trump was responsible for the crash because of insufficient ATC First of all, and regardless of what else occurred, ATC didn’t have anything to do with it and anyone who’s seen that footage will tell you that.

In case you haven’t,. Here you are…

Secondly, Pearson international is in Canada. They aren’t the 51st state yet.

*Can anybody point out to me another nation that taxes it’s citizens upwards of 65% when all levels of government are considered, (including what businesses pay and pass on to the consumer as a cost of doing business), and then takes all that money and ships it all to other countries?

* The number of 150 year olds still receiving social security checks, (and a goodly number of them are still being cashed, by the way), is a serious problem. But would it be out of line for me to wonder whether or not they’re still voting?

*Speaking of 150-year-olds, I see where Mitch McConnell is announced that he’s not going to be running for re-election. It’s no secret that Cocaine Mitch is getting a little long in the tooth at 83. And being an establishment critter makes him about as popular as chlamydia at a swingers club. So no secret why he’s now planning to retire. I can’t help but wonder if his health problems which of course everybody has at that age will overcome him before he gets to the end of his term.

Found elsewhere:

Checkmate.
A lawyer, Tom Renz, who actually read Trump’s DOGE Executive Order and, expecting some illegal power grab, found it to be airtight. Turns out Trump and Musk didn’t create anything. Obama did.
Obama created United States Digital Service (USDS) in 2014. It was meant as a bureaucratic patch job to fix the Obamacare website meltdown.
Fast forward to 2025. Trump rebrands it DOGE (United States DOGE Service). Keeps the acronym, keeps the funding, but gives it a whole new mission: Find the Receipts

Legally untouchable because it was already fully funded and operational. Trump invokes 5 USC 3161, which allows him to create temporary hiring authorities. DOGE teams get embedded inside every single federal agency. Each team consists of a lawyer, HR rep, a zoomer nerd, and an investigator. They report to DOGE, not the agency they’re embedded in.
But wait, there’s more! Trump invokes 44 USC Chapter 35, which governs federal IT and cybersecurity oversight. Since USDS was originally an IT oversight body, DOGE now has full access to all federal data systems. Yes, that’s right. All of them.
His executive order is written to block legal challenges. Includes language that overrides conflicting executive orders. Orders every agency to comply. Refusal means they violate presidential authority.
Congress can’t defund it because it’s not a new program, just a repurposed one. DOJ can’t sue for overreach because Trump used existing laws exactly as written. Democrats trying to file legal challenges run into standing issues because DOGE operates within existing frameworks.
Obama literally built the perfect Administrative (read: Deep State) IT backdoor.
Trump and Musk just hacked the system and took the admin controls. Musk now has legal oversight of every major agency’s internal systems. The Administrative State can’t stop it without rewriting multiple federal laws.
They legally outplayed the system and there’s nothing anyone can do about it.
Obama created DOGE.
Checkmate.
