FLASH- Plane Crash Teterboro NJ

Plane reportedly crashed on takeoff… never came uff the ground… veered off runway and took out a low building after going across Hwy42, taking out a couple cars.

Plane is N370v, a Bombardier CL 600, owned by Darby Aviation of Muscle Shoals AL. Here’s a pic of the plane;

…” 448 Alliance LLC, and gives an address in Dallas. Directory assistance has no company with that name, but does show a DDH Aviation at the same address. No one answered the phone there.

Ownership changes in these things are not unusual, so apparently this plane has quite a history, both individually, and as a model. There’s a lot of data on previous crashes of this model on the net, from all over the world, some of which involve ice on the plane, which we’re now hearing speculative chatter about in this case.

Son of an Update: Injury numbers seem to vary from 12 to 14, depending on who’s doing the telling. Fox now says the plane was headed for Midway. They also report the comms between the plane and the tower gave no indications what was up, and that the more serious injuries were on the ground.

The AP’s Rovert Ried is reporting

Add that to the idea that I’m seeing no confirmation from outside this rather dubious Arab extremist website, and it adds up to a fake.

Sorry, no sale. I can be convinced, if there’s more of it about. But I don’t see it at the moment.

The Democrats are considering trying to block the first Hispanic ever nominated for AG.
They’re doing this because he suppsoedly approved of harsh interigation tactics incidental to the 9/11 attacks.
I mean, leaving aside the issue that Gonzales’ involvementin the matter was to render a legal ruling in the matter… on a law that was passed by Congressional Democrats and signed into law by Bill Clinton… and that Gonzales’ ruling with respect to that law, was right on the money…. All that aside, I have only one question to ask of the Democrats….

While doing the usual driving around last night… chores and whatnot… I overheard something on the radio, while scanning around. Not even sure where the station was… it was on one of the AM grave yards…1380am… the signal was in and out, but a phrase I caught, struck my imagination….

“The terrorists fell in a hail of ballots…”

It’s interesting to note, also, that Iraq’s neighbors are also filled with people demanding the same choice. That snowball effect is exactly what the Bush administration predicted would eventually happen.

I stayed away from the Peterson sideshow.
On the same basis, then, I plan to steer clear of the fiasco currently playing out with Jackson. 

Mostly because it bores me to tears. I’ll be fair…. If they actually manage to come up with somehting that spikes my interest, I may comment on it. But I’m not going to be the ‘all-MJ all the time” place that Matt Drudge has evolved into.

My attitude likely won’t help my hitcounts, but frankly, I couldn’t care less.

I had a problem with the CSS mods I did that I didn’t know about.
I’ve solved them as of about 10am this morning. Its not 100%, but it’s readable. If the page isn’t resolving right, refresh the page, and it should clean up.

Toranto today makes mention of a group of people that aren’t so happy about the elections in Iraq the other day:

Yesterday was a great day to be an American, and an even better day to be an Iraqi. Notwithstanding the best efforts of Osama bin Laden, Barbara Boxer, Jacques Chirac, Ted Knnnedy, Saddam Hussein and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, millions of Iraqis cast their first free ballots. The scenes of joyous Iraqis embracing freedom were as moving as watching Germans dance on the Berlin Wall 15 years ago–and all the more impressive given that Iraqi voters faced real physical danger from terrorists seeking a return to tyranny.

True, James, True. And notice the way those names are linked together. Given their relative positions on supporting freedom, they will always be linked together.
To ths list, I wuld add: John Kerry, and his supporters. I would add Howard Dean. I would add Harry Reid.  All these leftist Bush haters, and so many more, who opposed this fight for freedom every step of the way… and who are still in spite of all evidence, are claimng it was all for naught.

The left is going to be a long time trying to find a way to deal with being shown as so very wrong. If the disarray we see them in at the moment is any indication, it’ll be a couple generations at least.

Chuck, over at You Big Mouth, You! has a good breakdown of a bus-truck accident that occurred just down I-390 over the weekend in the quiet little town of Geneseo. He’s got some pics, as well.

One thing Chuck has no way to know as of the time he wrote the excellent bit, was that the driver it appears, was over-tired. The chatter I’m now hearing of the investigation, suggests that the driver picked up the bus in Hamilton, Ontario a little after 12 midnight the night before the accident.

The accident occurred at nearly 5pm the next day. This would be about twice the amount of on-duty time that the law allows.

Nor is this the first accident of the like, involving this bus company. (Though admittedly, the most recent previous acidentw as in the American arm of the company) Here’s the NTSB report of that accident in nearby Victor.. which also involved too many hours behind the wheel.

Ya gotta wonder how many of these it takes to get some serious logbook enforcement.

How’s THIS going to play, I wonder?

I’ll let you in on something. A series of less than happy events has been happening at Casa De Bit this past weekend.

To begin with, my mother-in-law suffered a stroke and is hospitalized. At the moment we’re not sure of a prognosis.

Upon boarding her dog at the vet for the duration, we were advsied the dog has pancreatitus, an often fatal illness.  This combination of events is casuing strains of both time and finances, to say nothing of the emotional strain. 

I say all this by way of explaining that my work here may be spotty over the next few days until some of this stuff gets settled. We’ll see.

Captain’s Quarters has an interesting writeup this morning of the fallout from the Memogate scandal… where CBS tossed what small amount of credibility it had left in the crapper to pursue an anti-Bush lie as if it were fact.

Billy Beck this morning notes a quote from Mike Siverman; who gets the question of Saddam and WMD as close as no matter.

I quote it in full here because at the moment, Cold Fury is offline… bandwidth.

WMDs were by no means the only reason to remove Saddam. Saddam was an avowed enemy of this country. He called for our destruction many, many times. He aided and abetted Islamic terrorists of every warp and woof. He built the Salman Pak terrorist training camp. He provided safe harbor to terrorist killers like Abu Nidal and others. He encouraged the murderous depredations of Palestinian suicide bombers by rewarding their surviving family members with large cash payments which morally amounted to a bounty on the heads of innocent Israeli civilians. He attempted to assassinate a former US President, and just because it happened to be one you on the Left do not like does not mean that we as a nation can afford to ignore it. He attempted many, many times over the course of more than a decade to shoot down American aircraft engaged in a legitimate and UN-approved mission.

Just because you on the Left don’t like the military any more than you like the aforementioned US President doesn’t mean that we as a nation can afford to ignore that. It’s one thing to ignore a ruthless, bloodthirsty, and out-of-control tyrant like Saddam on 9/10/01; it’s another thing entirely to do so on 9/12.

You on the Left are not seriously concerned about the defense of this nation, its citizens, and its military personnel. You are dead wrong, and you do not deserve to be taken seriously.”

These words take on particular weight in light of the success of the elections just held.

I’ve checked up on all the usual suspects. Josh Marhsall has said nothing at all about them. So too, is Crooked Timber, with the exception of this write up on what they want to see happening now… as if anyone’s going to take them seriously following the whining they’ve been doing all along…. and Atrios. has been silent as well.

Kos seems to be in denial… a position he’s fairly well known for anyway.  So is Willis, who continually re-defines ‘stupid’.
