Unity?

Kerry in his consession speech just now is calling for ‘unity’.

Memo to Kerry:

Ummm.. John? After four years of you and your fellow Demorats trying to help Usama BinLaden tear this country apart, and hand our soverignty over to the UN, a meger call for ‘unity’ don’t cut it, pal.

America’s been mobilized, and it doesn’t look promising for Democrats for the forseeable future.

Outside The Beltway says Betty Castor has dropped out of the Florida senate Race.

Castor, in case you didn’t know is connected with Sami Al-Arian, of the Arab-American institute, which is a group which has been fighting our efforts in Iraq, and Afghanistan.

Someone finally made the connection.

As of now, the Republicans have gained three seats in the Senate.

It’s over. Of course we knew that, but at least Kerry’s admitting it. Give him credit; Only gotta hit that boy with a sledge two or three times before he gets the message.

YES!!!!
President Bush won not only the popular vote by an all-time high value, surpassing Reagan, (First person to win the popular vote since 1984), but won the largest electoral margin since the earth cooled, assuming the Ohio numbers hold.

Of course Kerry’s complaining and delaying, but it’s not going to hold, trust me on this. THe numbers simply are not there.

It gets better… Thune won, which means Daschle’s looking for work, and the Dmeocrats are looking for a new Senate Leader.
That alone was worth the price of admission.

The Republicans picked up at least 5 seats in the House and at least one in the Senate as I look at it at the moment. As soon as I pour some coffee, I’ll have a better look around and comment on it.

One of the things I’ll be checking is the moaning and groaning at moonbat central, of course.

Update:I had a number of thoughts on this while driving in.
All the big, and rich people who backed Kerry… Soros, Bing, etc, who tried to buy the election. Do you know the Democrats outspent the Republicans on the order of nine to one this time out? They still couldn’t buy the election.

The Hollywood left who tried to use their start drawing power to bandwagon it…(And ended up ending their own careers, or at least damaging them…) all the voter fraud the Democrats tried to foist off on us as voter rights issues… Rotundo Moore’s ranting and raving…. all of this, and yet THIS is the best the Democrats can do?

It adds up to a sounder rejection of the Democrats than anyone ever figured on.

The Iraqi people are breathing a sigh of releif this morning, I’ve no doubt. (Mental note to myself; check out the Iraqi bloggers this morning.)

And the funniest thing I thought of came with a bit of help from Mike Smirconish down at WPHT in Philly this morning, who remarked to the effect of imagining the look on Rotundo Moore’s face this morning, as he stuffs another double order of cheese fries into it.

The happiest woman in the world is Hillary Clinton. Now, she can run in ’08. Oh, and speaking of which; the Bill Clinton magic seems to have lost an edge. Kerry lost in those states Bubba stumped for Kerry in, with the exeption of NY, whch would have gone Kerry anyway.

Katie Couric is dressed in black today, and isn’t quite so damned perky. Gee, wonder why, huh?

Oh, and one thing you won’t hear from the Democrats; In 2000’s election, they complaineed that Ralph Nader spoiled their chances. They can’t complain that now; Nader wasn’t a factor, and the Democrats lost this one all on their own.

Ten different states adopeted DOMA laws. This was supposed to be the big draw for the Democrats, who want such defeated. All the states who had them won by wide margins…. even in Mich, where Kerry won. Think about that on your own for a while; I’ll break this one out for examination later this week. (Update: Actually it’s 11, now, not ten)
I said two years ago, that if the Democrats lose big in 2004, the Democrat party is over. They knew it, too, which is why the extrodinary amount of money and star capital, and effeorts to defraud in the voting booth were all expended in this cycle.

Despite all of that… the Republcians still won, and won big. I hold to my prediction; we will now see the Democrat party as we know it, in it’s death struggle. Democrats will be turning on themselves this morning, and in the coming days as they start to understand just what it is they’ve lost. The silence on the usual moonbat channels, inclding usenet’s alt.politics.* areas, is deafening.

Of course Kerry hasn’t admitted, in spite of all evdience, that he HAS lost, good sport that he is. I can think of only one reason Kerry’s not given up, based on the math I’m seeing from Ohio,a nd the providional ballots; He thinks the Provos are stacked in his favor. Traditionally, the trends in the provisionals are not statistically different from the physical areas involved. Kerry seems to think they are this time, though.

Hmmm. Does he know something he’s not telling us?

Ummmm… because the whole thing was always a ruse? Just a guess.

I’m about ready to fall over.

It’s all over.

Bush is up by a fair amount in Florida… more than he was in 2000.
No other states have changed.
If this holds, and Bush pulls Ohio, we can all go to bed.

The breakouts by county suggest that at least os of this time (23:34) Cuyahoga county is dragging behind, with only 32% reporting. Kerry, as of this point has a largish lead there, but which precincts are in is at issue. I’m not getting a good picture at the county level.

But the encouraing point, here is that like Florida, Ohio’s numbers for Bush are up in every county over 2000, at least where we have all the precincts in.

The state by state breakout as of 22:30, has not changed at all from 2000.
What looks more promising than 2000 is Florida. In their country by county breakout, the counts for Bush are up, in each and every case. I’m beginning to doubt that Florida will be nearly as close as it was the last time.

Look, I hate to disappoint my readers, but I do NOT plan to beomce a rumor repeater, here. THere’s going to be a whole lotta poop flying around the nets tonight, about who’s winning where, most of it garbage, and I will not bust a vein trying to repeat it here as if I’m on the front lines.

First because I simply don’t have the time, tonight.
More importantly, I likely won’t have any fresh info to pass along about who’s winning that everyone else doesn’t already have.
And perhaps most important, is the concept that I don’t trust about half of it, anyway. Let’s remember 2000, where CBS went for Gore waaaaayyyyy before it was justified.
And I get the idea that we won’t know unill at least tommrow morning, who wins, in any event. Likely, it’ll be later than that.

Finally, beacuse Blogger’s already a problem getting in to add stuff to the blogs.
I can’t imagine I’m going to be beating anyone to the punch tonight.
I may have an opinion or two, and will be writing them as they come to me. But that’s about it.

Captain Ed over at Captain’s Quarters links to an article in THE HILL which spells Kerry’s defeat. Mark Mellman, John Kerry’s biggest Pollster says;

“First, we simply do not defeat an incumbent president in wartime. After wars surely, but never in their midst. Republicans have been spinning this fact for months, and they are correct.
Democrats have spoken often and powerfully about the nation’s economic problems. But by historical standards, they are not that bad. The “misery index” is 7.8 today but was 20.5 when Jimmy Carter was defeated. Economic models of elections show Bush winning 52-58 percent of the vote.

Nor does Mellman stop there.

But I will… I’ll let Ed take it from here.

I will comment, however that when even Kerry’s people are saying this….

Interesting, given that Guam has been a solid indicator, having voted for the winner in the last 6 presidential elections.

Let’s recall that Philly was dirty last time, too, having more votes than voters by about 20%… and the Elections there are run by Democrats. Need I say more? It would be interesting to see who the votes were pre-cast for.

Daschle vs Thune live blogged Daschle’s court appearence last night. Daschle’s trying to claim voter intimidation, yet, as in Florida, the Democrats seem unable to come up with anyone willing to testify to this. Apparently perjury is an unpopular poastime in the Dakotas.

It’s an interesting read, and is a microcosm of this election.

But I speak form some personal experience, here. I’ve done some roadie work in my time, and I know the situation, though I’ve not been as exposed to it as you.

My problem with your comments is, in those days the audiences… and usually the bands… were so blasted they didn’t notice some flaws here and there. Besides, it’s harder to hear the flaws when you’re ears are bleedin’….  But for a more sober retrospective, listen to Kiss’ live LP’s and you’ll noitce problems in the vocals that simply don’t show up in the studio tracks. Mostly, where vocalists get off mike for half a word, get out of live, level wise, or what have you..  or are busy moving while trying to hit that note and miss on both counts.

Now, sometimes, as in the case of Kiss, or what is in my view, the best live LP ever recorded, Frampton Comes Alive, there’s a number of flaws that do not explain themselves well to most listeners… particularly those who don’t know the concert scene. In those cases I’ve listed, though, the energy associated with the expereince translates itself into the playing and singing, and overcomes what technical flaws there are.

Other side of the coin…Ever see Michial Jackson live? I’ve seen tapes… and frankly, the vocals sucked sewage. Interesting how most of the crowd didn’t notice. Too busy fainting, I guess.

I think part of the problem, here… and here the STAR gets it half right….  is that the stage shows have gotten energetic to the point of being spastic.

And the other half…. Not everyone who can kick serious but in the studio, can do the same in a live situation; and the reverse is true, as well. but I question the idea that trying to cover that lack rises to the level of fraud.

And what the beep are you read the STAR for anyway? I gave up on that garbage years ago.
