OK, I guess I should admit it; I’ve never been too fond of the Red Sox.  And I’ve found myself particularly detached from them after the antics of their fans the other night.

However, I will also admit to being somewhat torn on this point, given that my favorite team is whoever happens to be kicking the living snot out of the Yankees at the moment.

The interesting thing about it, the ironic part, is that the BoSox Opening day of 2005, will be against the Yankees. Which of course, means that it’ll be that Yankee team that’ll be watching the World Series Champ flag being flown for the first time.

So, while I am not overly happy with the series outcome, I can live with it.

Sorry, but in my view they should have called in enough airstrikes on Ramallah to make some interesting glass sculptures out of it, upwards of 20 years ago. Brutal?

The answer to the missing explosives may have just been broken wide open… And this is not going to bode well for John Kerry. The story, written by no less than Bill Gertz, in tomorrow’s The Washington Times suggests that Russia had moved the missing weaponry from Iraq to Syria.

“John A. Shaw, the deputy undersecretary of defense for international technology security, said in an interview that he believes the Russian troops, working with Iraqi intelligence, “almost certainly” removed the high-explosive material that went missing from the Al-Qaqaa facility, south of Baghdad. “

Now, why would the Russians do this?  Simple;

“”The Russians brought in, just before the war got started, a whole series of military units,” Mr. Shaw said. “Their main job was to shred all evidence of any of the contractual arrangements they had with the Iraqis.

Now first, Long-time readers may recall I made repeated mention in this space that there were a long line of trucks having moved the weapons to Syria just prior to the US-led invasion. Score: Bithead, 1 point.

You may also recall that I made mention of Russia never getting involved in Iraq for the same reason as France; they were up to their asses in it with Saddam. Score Bithead, 1 point.

Now, given the situation, we now better understand why the rather interesting hands-off policy and hush up policy about that line of trucks headed from that area to Syria that I’ve been speaking about, all this time.

But more… Gertz reports….

“Defense officials said the Russians can provide information on what happened to the Iraqi weapons and explosives that were transported out of the country. Officials believe the Russians also can explain what happened to Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction programs.”

Think John Kerry’s people will have much to say about this?

Boortz notes a bit of a discrepancy in the IAEA report… says they reported only 3 tons missing, not the 380 tons. Hmmm.

He also notes the Gertz story and wonders if it’ll slow Kerry’s lying spree down. He doubts it and so do I.

However this falls out, it seems clear now that ths story is not what the press and John Kerry’s election comittee…(A redundancy) is telling us it is.

Further claims: America has brought this on itself for electing George Bush who has made war on Islam by destroying the Taliban and making war on Al Qaeda.

ABCNEWS strongly denies holding the tape back from broadcast over political concerns during the last days of the election.

The CIA is analyzing the tape, a top federal source tells the DRUDGE REPORT.

ABCNEWS obtained the tape from a source in Waziristan, Pakistan over the weekend, sources tells DRUDGE

Big shock, huh? Particularly after Madrid.

The AP, apparently seeing that the attempt to push the 380 tons of explosives being missing as Bush’s fault have backfired, are now reduced to trying the old, tired, discredited meme about Bush Deserted the National Guard posting.

The article charges that

” Unearthed under legal pressure, three-decade-old documents portray President Bush (news – web sites) as a capable and well-liked Air National Guard pilot who stopped flying and attending regular drills two-thirds of the way through his six-year commitment — without consequence.

Only one problem with the story; He’d already met the duty requirements at that point.. in spades…. as was revealed the last time they floated this garbage.

But this does reveal that the leftist press has run out of ammo to use against the President…. They’re now recycling the old lies in the hoeps that some of the undecideds don’t KNOW they’re lies.
