According to FOXNews.com:
“WASHINGTON – The White House agreed Tuesday to let National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice (search) publicly testify under oath before the commission investigating the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks on the United States.”
Bill Hobbs mentions this, as well and advises the Democrats, to “Be careful what you wish for.”
Indeed, Bill; I can’t imagine anything worse for them at this point.
Update: My reply to Bill Hobbs expands the point:
Can you imagine that anyone will NOT be aware of the situation and watching Rice as she testifies? I can’t help but wonder if this isn’t some masterful plan on the part of the WH; I can’t imagine any other series of events, save another attack on us, generating quite so much interest. Why would that be good? Rice, herself. The woman is unflapable.
If the Democrats were hoping for a spin favorable to them, I think Condi just swept the legs out from under them on two counts…
1: They hoped they’d be able to ride this one until November, about how the WH has ‘something to hide’. That’s now gone.
2: And now that she’s got the spotlight, there’s no way in the world this is going to spin the Democrats’ way. Once she opens her mouth, it’s done.

“Personally, I’m of the mind that Bush and Co. were stringing the Donks along, making them whine and seeth as much as possible before finally saying “Fine, have it your way”. And then they bring out the nail-studded cluebat and beat the snot out of Clarke, Kerry, and the rest of the foaming-at-the-mouth Donks. But that’s only my opinion.”
