Max Schmeling RIP

Dean’s World advises us that Max Schmeling has died at age 99. (Shoot, I didn’t even know he was still alive!)

Schmeling, as you may recall, was a boxer of some renoun, most infamously, against Joe Louis… and was an unwilling pawn of the Nazis, who suddenly decided he wasn’t much good anymore after the loss to Lewis.
