At this writing the incident isn’t 48 hours old yet and already there are a number of theories floating about the net, many suggesting incident was intentional and had China’s fingerprints all over it.
One such making it around yesterday:
Now before you start in on me, in all honesty I’m not overly convinced of this scenario, yet.
At the same time it would be foolish not to consider it given the totality of the damage. In one stroke, the following situation they’ve created gives us the following scenario:
- The Port of Baltimore will be crippled for several weeks
- No ships will be moving in and out of that facility for at least that amount of time if not longer.
- Shipping delays and throttling have been created because Frank will have to be redirected to other ports. Trouble is, the other points on the East Coast. Trouble is, those other courts are already at or near capacity yes I will container traffic to the east coast will be significantly slowed.
- Hazardous material shipments will end up being redirected. The bridge was specifically constructed so as to allow the shipment of hazardous materials. The fort McHenry tunnel on interstate 95 and the tunnel on 895 cannot accept hazardous materials.
- They already nightmarish traffic around the Baltimore area will now be significantly worse.
- Shipping costs for many areas of the country will necessarily rise as shortages occur and additional miles need to be covered to go from point A to point B.
- They might get the port open in around a year but some analysts are saying that it’s going to take a decade to get that bridge rebuilt. By the way, that means a year of actual building and 9 years of governmental red tape environmental studies funding etc.
There are other factors which suggest, on the other hand, that this was not an intentional act.
- The ship involved had been written up a few times for insufficient safeguards against loss of control under precisely the circumstances that we witnessed in the video
- A few weeks ago according to reports I’m seeing a sister ship similarly lost power and helm control, while trying to leave a Turkish port, subsequently mowing down a row of cranes which were apparently trying to build a bridge.
- Acts of terrorism are generally not signaled in advance. The ship apparently called the Maryland DOT to explain that they had lost power and control and that a bridge collision was possible. A surprise attack this does not seem to be on that strength alone.
Conclusions? I’m not sure I have any, yet it would be quite helpful indeed if we actually had a vigorous press to investigate things and asking serious questions. However, after what we’ve seen out of them for the last three decades or so, I don’t give them much in the way of credibility.
So it is that we are forced to wait until the other shoe drops as we did with Russia gate, with covid-19 and with the vaccine, and so on. In my estimation it’s going to be a long time indeed before we get any credible answers from any investigative effort mounted by this government.
And so we see Google getting busted for changing the definition of “bloodbath” at political need.
And, look, I’ll be the first to admit that this is possibly the work of one individual at Google. But the incredible silence from Google races questions…
It’s time to come back to reality and recognize for once and all that government has been destroying Health Care since the sixties… To the precise degree that government has been put in charge of it in the name of saving it.

in my feed this morning, news that Family Dollar and Dollar Tree are both closing nearly 1,000 stores each, owing to among other things, a “surprise” fourth quarter loss. Makes one mindful of the party that apparently invented the word “unexpectedly.”
Tyson’s chicken closed 8 plants in 2023, located in Van Buren, Arkansas; Glen Allen, Virginia; North Little Rock, Arkansas; Corydon, Indiana; Dexter, Missouri; and Noel, Missouri, and two more. This morning comes news that they are also closing the Perry, Iowa plant costing yet another 1,200 jobs. And of course raising the cost of chicken.
Walmart is closing 23 stores in 8 states (all blue).

Right, Democrats?
I suppose this is a measurement of the deterioration of Canadian society over time.
When my wife and I were first married, we honeymooned in Niagara falls and then in Toronto. We had actually been in Toronto several times before we got married, and I will more than grant I was a bit over the moon being newlywed, but those days we spent in Toronto we’re particularly memorable.
We stayed at a boutique hotel within shooting distance of the CN Tower, we visited a donut shop around the corner from the place where the coffee was just absolutely fabulous the donuts weren’t bad either. Even at 3:00 a.m., there were no safety problems to speak of. We went strolling and shopping and sightseeing whatever we felt like it.
Come ahead 10 years by which time we had two boys who we had decided to bring to the Toronto zoo which personally I hadn’t seen in years.
We went to the zoo had a good time and while we were out we decided that we were going to show the kids where we had stayed on our honeymoon. Bad move.
The hotel was now a chain hotel and was certainly looking worse for the wear. The donut shop had obviously had a fire and was closed, broken windows and all. But the first indication that there was something amiss was coming out of the Bloor Street subway station, and tripping over a half a dozen kids in sleeping bags on the sidewalk.
I remarked to my wife at the time, “well I guess you can’t go back home anymore”.
We went home feeling a bit disappointed. We haven’t been back since.
I’ve been watching prime Ministers questions in the House of Commons and one of the subjects that’s come up there lately is the number of cars that are being stolen because just as down here in America certain elements of Canadian government have decided to not prosecute crime.
This morning comes a story that the Toronto police are recommending that you let thieves steal your car.
At the moment I consider it a 50/50 proposition as to whether or not there will be a change of government as a result of this deterioration. If there’s anything remarkable about this, it’s that our own deterioration down here in the states is so very similar.
That similarity I believe to be a warning, that there are external forces at work here.

- Amazing that so many people fighting for $15 an hour wages are encouraged by importing large numbers of aliens who will do the work for $4 an hour.
- Recent CNN polling shows that Donald Trump has enough electoral college votes to win the presidency, fairly easily. Trouble is, CNN was counting citizens. A look at our Southern border reveals the Democrat answer to that problem.
The Establishment GOP has once again been handed its backside. Thing is, this was so predictable. It’s to the point where the desperation on the part of the establishment GOP to keep the party from actually being conservative is blatantly obvious even to died in the wool Democrats. I mentioned last week that the only place that Nikki Haley was posting winning numbers in the primary was in Washington DC, and that should tell you everything you need to know about her candidacy and who was backing it.
The message has been sent to the establishment several times now, most loudly in the nomination and election of Donald Trump both in the past tense and in the future. This should be the death note for the establishment GOP and the beginning of an actual conservative party.
We are decidedly not going to solve our problems with half measures, folks.
We have to make every effort to stop the Democrats from vote fraud. My friends that is where the concentration of our effort needs to be going forward
https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/supreme-court-opinion-trump-ballot-03-04-24/index.html
That point alone should have been enough to shut down the blatantly partisan attempt to keep Trump off the ballot, exposing just how partisan the Democrats have become lately.
It goes directly to my long-standing point that the Democrats understand very clearly that when Trump runs, he wins. They know they’re going to lose and their desperation is clearly showing here.
The fact that even leftists like Kagan voted with the majority shows you just how politically motivated the Democrats are
- Consider the idea that if you’re a conservative your opinions are monitored more closely than our Southern border.
- There is another word for unions and it’s probably more accurate: extortionists.
