Word is circling around this morning that Mike Pence has decided to toss his head into the presidential race. In all candor, I’m reasonably sure that he isn’t going to be going anywhere in this primary.
Another one that probably isn’t going anywhere is that death Star on legs Chris Christie. At least, I assume there’s legs down there somewhere. I can pretty much guarantee you he’s not going anywhere either. (Him running is a metal picture I didn’t need.)
The reason for their impending failure is simple enough. They are both far too GOP establishment for the rank and file to take them seriously. Their records are both not that of conservatives, or even populists, but Democrat light. And that, dear reader, it’s precisely what the Democrats want. The GOP rank and file understands this, and they’re not having any of it.
We will revisit these two in a month once the polling numbers start coming out.
Now, before you start getting all worried about a rift in the party, I’ll point out that there’s nothing new here, and certainly very little that’s unique to the GOP. Indeed, my thought is that neither Biden nor Harris will be on the ticket a year from now.
You may think that a odd prediction, but I think not. Every single bit of polling data I have seen suggests that the majority of rank and file Democrats want the both of them, Biden and Harris, out of the running. The polling data suggests that rank and file democrats, you know, the voters… are expressing this loudly.
See, their White House performance in the last few years has been nothing short of absolutely disastrous. They clearly understand that most rank and file Democrats and Independence are completely turned off by what they’ve been witnessed to from this administration.
Uncle Creepy in particular, given his obviously increasing frailties, is a particular concern with people on both sides of the aisle speculating on whether or not he’ll actually make it to election day much less for another 4 years. It sounds cruel to say, but I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if the Democrats didn’t have a martyr flag to wave between now and a year from now. A cynical viewpoint, certainly. But for the Democrats it is probably the least objectionable scenario in terms of being able to maintain political power
The one point I have not mentioned is the deep state, particularly the fully weaponized doj, fbi, cia,. With their obvious biases and proclivities for illegal Acts to favor those biases, the smart money is on those trends continuing in spite of their previous actions being increasingly exposed. There’s a lot of desperate people making up those organizations that have begun to recognize that Donald Trump gets into office a lot of them are going to jail and at the very least their power will be gone.
The one thing that I’m absolutely certain about is that I’ll have no shortage of things to write about.
