I keep wanting to take Bill Maher seriously. It’s rather odd finding oneself obligated to take somebody that calls themselves a comedian, seriously. His political commentaries can be biting at times, and can be quite correct. But funny? Not particularly.

But it’s the correctness that’s apparently infuriating his leash handlers at MSNBC. Matt Vespa notes that they’re yanking back on Maher’s chain, apparently trying to get him to tone down the anti-democrat rhetoric, so now he’s turning his sights toward the press. Read the whole thing.

At the end of the day the only thing I find funny about the Maher is the way he keeps coming up, occasionally brilliantly, with an identification of the size of scope of the problems we face with the left of today, and yet continues to tell us he wouldn’t vote for Donald Trump. He’s walked all over Joe Biden, but continues to support him.

As Vespa points out, he’s now turning his ire away from Democrat party politicos and onto take his axe to the supposed mainstream media for getting covid so very wrong. Forgetting of course, that they were simply parroting what the Democrat politicos were telling them to say.

Bill Maher has finally admitted that the US government was doing gain of function research, a blatantly illegal act and cooperating with the Communist Chinese, also questionable legally and certainly morally, but as usual he refuses to call out those directly responsible for the millions of deaths involved in that bundled research.

Dr Anthony Fauci for one. As usual he refuses to allow himself the only logical conclusion from his observations, because after all that would be counterproductive to keeping Democrats in power and would undoubtedly lose him his lofty position on MSNBC.

The comedy here is watching Bill Maher walk the tightrope that he is set for himself. As I say, I want to take him seriously but I’m afraid that’s not going to happen until such time as he can draw the only logical conclusions from his observations… A happening which seems at the very least unlikely.

Thing is, Bill Maher keeps getting embarrassingly close to the truth about the left in this country. So likelihood of his losing his berth on MSNBC once Joe Biden loses the election, seems to me to be on the order of 60%.
