Jail Population Up, While Crime is Down.

I see the NY TIMES is complaining that the prison population is too high. It claims, particularly, that the prison population should not BE so high with crime so low.

Comment: DUUUUUHHHHHH….. Is the Times so far removed from reality, that they don’t understand there’s a direct link between having those who will commit crimes behind bars, thus preventing said criminal acts, and a lower rate of crime?
