Noted today, in my “inbox”: Two stories.
- Michelle Obama complaining that using the middle name of her husband is a ‘fear bomb’.
- And at the same time, from this source, we see calls for limits on “religious insults’ against Muslims.
The tie in, of course is they’re both complaining about the same thing,and trying to limit the effects of people’s perceptions.
Their problem of course is this: The truth can often be very insulting. Certainly, the reaction to the truth can limit some people’s power over you.
You can understand why freedom of speech, isn’t really a value, both in the case of the Islamic name of “he who must not be middle named”, and islam in general. Remember, though; this is YOUR freedom we’re talking about, here.
