NASA: Kerry Camp asked for ‘bunny’ Photos

“The senator’s campaign aides allege the pictures were not supposed to be released publicly, but NASA spokesman Bill Johnson says that’s not true, reports Florida Today.
Johnson claims the campaign asked that processing of images of the up-close tour of the Discovery space shuttle Monday be expedited so reporters could have them. ”

So, it’s another lie from the Kerry Camp. And another slander of people in uniform, at that.  As Captain Ed said yesterday, how can we trust them to run the country when they routinely lie about stuff like this?

Well, I’ll say it up front; I expected Kerry to attempt to deceive in his acceptance speech last night… and I wasn’t disappointed.  He started doing it with the very first words out of is mouth, no less… “We’re here because we love our country.”

Sorry, but no sale. I’ve watched Democrats too long to allow that one by me.  Explain to me how someone who loves their country would propose to weaken it, force it to submit to the one worlders, and weaken it’s internal structures to the point of making the 9/11 attacks possible?

As if that wasn’t enough, he went on from there… for another 54 minutes, 24 seconds, by my admittedly rough broadcaster’s internal time sense. To my ear, the speech sounded a bit hurried. Almost as if he was under some kind of time pressure. I wondered several times if he had a clock under the lip of that podium. On the other hand, if I had to deliver the fetid garbage he delivered last night, I’d have hurried too, just to be rid of it.

He asked us to judge him on his record. Man, if everyone did that, we could all go home. But, I have a reputation as a nice guy to maintain… so let’s do as he asks. Yes, let’s judge him by his record.

Kerry’s record in the Senate is one of a walking disaster for this country…. by his voting record, not his rhetoric, he is the single most leftist senator in history… even by the measurement of his own people. So, yes, let’s judge him by his record.

His 20 years in the Senate have been completely devoid of what anyone, and I mean anyone would call a major accomplishment. Which, perhaps, is why he didn’t mention one last night. So, yes, let’s judge him by his record.

When he decided to show up at all, one could count on Mr. Kerry to vote against America. During this 20 year period, his senatorial accomplishments included having voted for a nuclear freeze, thus crippling our defense. So, yes, let’s judge him by his record.

He voted to cut the intel budget, and then on the night of the 9/11 attacks bitched about how the people whose funding he cut, had failed us. So, yes, let’s judge him by his record.

He voted for our action in Iraq, and then voted against funding the people he’d voted to send. So, yes, let’s judge him by his record.

As a member of the Senate Intel Committee, he missed all but nine of the 38 meetings of that committee… Including the one regarding terrorist threats, which was held just prior to the 9/11 attacks. So, yes, let’s judge him by his record.

Here’s a man who stood up in a Senate Hearing and slandered soldiers, slamming them, and claiming that he had witnessed atrocities in Vietnam we now know he never saw. We have him on record in a flat out lie… in his first-ever action in the public eye. So, yes, let’s judge him by his record.

Kerry is on record as being on both sides of the Iraq issue, as I will examine in some detail in this weekend’s BIT’s BIT. So, yes, let’s judge him by his record.

Good entertainment? I guess. Good speech? So-So. Truth? Heck no.

Let’s call this what it was; Kerry stood last night in front of a party that is not being held together by conviction. It’s not a party held together by the purpose of bettering the country. It’s not a party that even agrees with Kerry’s mouthing support for the Iraq war. Kerry last night made a speech to Democrat party that is divided in the extreme about even having the man up there… and one that will, win or lose, veer wildly left following the election, no matter which way it goes. The only thing that holds them together as a party right now is a blistering hate for George W. Bush, or anyone, for that matter that will challenge their power.

Hatred of a political opponant is not enough of a basis to ask for power on.

Which gets us back to Kerry’s opening line. He and the rest of the Democrats are not, as Kerry insisted last night, there for love of country…. Far from it.

They’re there because of their own love of power, and their own hatred for those who love their country.

The American people as a whole, are smarter than to give that power to them.

Enough about his speech. No, I’m not going to make much the screwup with the balloons and confetti. I love that it happened, but the event speaks for itself.

The reaction to the event is worthy of note, however. The Democrats are claiming that they meant to do that… they wanted the balloons to last a long time. Well, if that was the intent, don’t you think the director would have known that, instead of wondering on CNN’s air…..”What the f—- are you guys doing up there?”

I mean, my gosh is there nothing these Democrats won’t LIE about? I guess we can take that as a metaphor of a Kerry Administration. Do we really want these clowns in the White House?

By the way; Outside the Beltway seems to have the best collection of comments on the speech last night from around Blogdom… but I note with some wry amusement he’s not mentioned this blog. (wink). I note Matt Margolis at Blogs For Bush does a pretty good job here, as well.

Seems the Boston Locals are NOT happy.

The Boston Herald. says:

“Promises of a Democratic convention windfall now seem as empty as Boston’s streets this week to many Hub merchants, restaurants, tourist sites and small businesses.

“Never in the 33 years we’ve been here have we seen anything like it,” said George George, co-owner of the Albany Sandwich Shop in the South End, who said his business this week is off by as much as 50 percent. “It’s like a snowstorm in the middle of summer, only in a snowstorm we get the plow drivers.” ”

How many votes did the DNC just cost themselves in the Boston area just from ticking off the locals, I wonder?

I’ve been taking Taegan Goddard’s Political Wire with a few grains of salt when I bother with it at all for a long time, now.

But, I found an interesting note in it today… If you ever needed proof of why Ann Coulter was removed by Useless Toady from DNC coverage, one need only look at the DNC firing it’s own blogger. Read the link.

It’s like I said… THe message being sent here is clearly: In the Democrat Party, it’s lockstep or step off. And USA TODAY’s editorial policies are an extention of that, being themselves a voice for the DNC and naught less.

The biggest proof will be for me, when that mega-maggot, Rotundo Moore comes in tot he RNC, ostensibly for the paper, being his usual self, and doesn’t get canned.

I’m not sure if I trust this source or not, but…. here goes…

“Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, head of the group suspected of beheading two Bulgarian hostages, has reportedly been arrested in Western Iraq.

Al-Zarqawi has been arrested by Iraqi police and US military close to the border with Syria, Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported, citing information posted on the Internet. ”

Let’s assume for the moment that the report is true.
Can you imagine the Donkey Corral Tonight? Why, they will simply be abuzz with the idea that this was tossed in just now for political reasons.

Obviously a translation from Cryllic. (No language should have that many cases! I gave up trying to learn it in my high school days, and I’m still slightly twisted from the effort…)

Wouldn’t it be interesting for someone to find articles released by this source, complaining about the Iraq Intel, pre-9/11?

The report may be in error, but clearly the rumor mill is going crazy because SOMEONE got caught. CNN is up with a report that is so similar as to make one wonder if the first source didn’t simply screw it up… says CNN:

“DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (Reuters) – Pakistan has arrested a senior al Qaeda figure with a bounty of up to $25 million on his head, Interior Minister Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat told CNN television Thursday.

He said the suspect had been captured during a raid in central Pakistan a few days ago. He did not identify the captive but said he was “a person who is most wanted internationally.”

“The Pakistani president said the arrested person is Tanzanian who is married to an Uzbek woman, and who is wanted by the United States,” the station said.

Al Arabiya said the suspect may be Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani. Ghailani is the only Tanzanian on the FBI’s most wanted “terrorists” list, for his alleged role in the 1998 bombings by al Qaeda of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.

My guess here is this report is the true one… and that the similarity of situaton, caused someone at the Rusian outlet to pop a cork…. Al-Zarqawi also has a $25mUS price on his head and also has been known to live for a time in Tanzania, though he doesn’t claim residency there.

Nice to see Bob Novak come to the same conclusion I came to back in April… that being that only hate drives the Democrats.

He points to the unions and their dissatisfaction with the Democrats, that I already pointed to yesterday.

Their problem, of course is that to get their boy in this far, they’ve had to hide their true nature… as I’ve been saying all though this convention.

Says Novak:

“This forbearance for the party’s internal differences can last no longer than Nov. 3, when President Bush’s fate will be settled. If Sen. John Kerry wins, the party’s left wing will press an agenda set aside to achieve electoral success. If Kerry loses, it will be worse. His campaign’s moderation will be blamed by forces insisting on moving left the next time.”

Translation: Win or lose, the party will return to it’s roots after the election, by veering left, which will destroy them altogether. They are hiding those roots from you now, so as to get your vote. But their true nature is something you would not vote for.

You’d better hope like crazy, that they don’t have the power to take the country with them… and work toward the avoidance of that happening.

Dale Franks over at Q and O seems to see the same underlying split in the party… and there seems to be a duality in their candidates as a result of trying to satisfy both ends of the increasing split:

“So, I’m watching the convention, but I gotta tell you, it’s just giving me mental whiplash. Barack Obama comes out one night and tells me that we’re all one America. One big happy family. Then John Edwards comes out and, in what is essentially a rebuttal to Mr. Obama, tells me that there are, in fact, two Americas, and if I’m part of the America where we have to burn tires in our yard to keep warm, then I’m screwed. Then, Edwards proceeds to fisk himself, by telling me that he came from a modest background as the son of a mill worker and postal clerk, but then became fabulously wealthy. Uh, OK, but I thought you were from the Poor America that gets anally probed all the time by Rich America. So, if you can go from Poor America to Rich America, then why do we all need government help?”

When the splits are this close to the surface, you know they’re not telling you the truth.

Sean over at Everything I Know Is Wrong notes the same problem, noting that all the centerist noises the Johns are making right now willbe flushed once the election comes around.

“Even if Kerry is elected, the only hope mainstream Democrats have of seeing any of the planks acted upon is if he has enough backbone to stand up to the powerful left wing of his leftist party. Based on past performance, what do you think the odds of that are?”

… doesn’t mean that Ann Coulter will be silenced.

Boortz makes a comment this morning I’m stll laughing about:

“A mouthpiece for Tereeeeeza Heinz Kerry said that “the future first lady’s” remark that Ted Kennedy is a ‘perfect bastard’ is ‘water under the bridge.’ Unfortunate choice of words those.”

It’s clear the person involved doesn’t know their own party history.
Or, for that matter, their own future, which certainly does not involve that woman ever being NEAR the White House, except perhaps on the tour… but only after a complete security screening.

DRUDGE i running what is likely to be an even more bizarre story than the “I didn’t know they were taking pictures” gaffe of last night.

Well, that makes sense, I guess. Spielberg works best in fantasy, huh?

The book goes from there, though:

” “Kerry would revisit ambush locations for reenacting combat scenes where he would portray the hero, catching it all on film. Kerry would take movies of himself walking around in combat gear, sometimes dressed as an infantryman walking resolutely through the terrain. He even filmed mock interviews of himself narrating his exploits. A joke circulated among Swiftees was that Kerry left Vietnam early not because he received three Purple Hearts, but because he had recorded enough film of himself to take home for his planned political campaigns.”

The story goes on to suggest this is not a new story; others in Kerry’s command at that time and other swiftees as well also reported similar happenings.

Says the report:

What on earth are the Democrats thinking?

The Instant One notes a HUGE story brewing, on the pages of WaPo:

“Breaking sharply with the enforced harmony of the Democratic National Convention, the president of the largest AFL-CIO union said Monday that both organized labor and the Democratic Party might be better off in the long run if Sen. John F. Kerry loses the election. ”

My Way News forwards an AP feed which says, in part:

The New York-based research group reported that its index for consumer confidence rose to 106.1 in July, up from 102.8 in June and well ahead of the figure of 102.0 that investors had been expecting. It was the highest level for the indicator since June 2002.

This is a fourth straight rise in the monthly consumer confidence rating. No matter how the Democrats spin and whine about ‘the worst economy since the depression…(a demonstrably untrue statement, in any case) They can’t spin or wish this one away, folks.

In seeing Reagan Jr tonight, I can only repeat what I said about a month back:

Ron Reagan Jr. apparently inherited not smart one from his father. Or, at least, one wonders if he’s still not grown out of the rebellious stage most kids go through. In looking at him we have a practical example of the acorn falling too far from the tree, and thereby not becoming a tree, and in fact never becoming anything more than a nut.

(Shrug) Look, I could let slip, without comment, his slight at President Bush, and the supposed ‘religious right’ at his father’s service, as a misread on my part. I’ve delivered a couple eulogies in my time and understand a small part of what he was going through.

Thing is, that’s not all we have to go on, here. In reviewing the tapes of that service, I found something interesting; Not once during the service did he actually participate in any of the prayers. Almost as if he were wearing his unbelief on his sleeve, just as he charged others were doing with their belief. His comments and his actions during that service tell the story. He obviously has no clue about, and thinks foolish, what his father understood quite clearly.

And finally, there’s the attacks he issued on Matthews show last night, which cements the observation; he didn’t benefit at all, in terms of thought processes, or core values, from his father, that much is certain.

Here is someone who was an embarrassment to his father through his life, and who apparently had to use his chance at a eulogy for his father, for one last slight against what his father stood for. I thought he might have grown up. I’d rather hoped he would. I suppose that was a blind hope, however.

Were The Gipper alive and aware, he would be embarrassed by his kid once again. As it is, Dutch is beyond embarrassment. So too, apparently, is his kid.

Dutch, at least, has the excuse of being dead.

I can only add that his father knew an equation he will never understand. You don’t take innocent life to save your own.

Update: Eric Jay over at the Neophite Pundit points up proof of this line of thought… that Reagan would NEVER approve of stem cell research because of the human costs involved:
