Yahoo! News – Heinz Co. Is Campaign Weapon for Bush

Yahoo! News (AP) is reporting the rather startling news that

: “WASHINGTON – Though John Kerry’s wife is an heir to the H.J. Heinz Co. fortune, the food company and its executives are providing President Bush with money and a campaign issue … jobs flowing overseas … in this year’s election. “

I wonder if this has anything to do with a drop off in Heinz branded product sales I keep hearing about… a drop that started happening when Kerry was identified with the Ketchup maker…. Stay tuned for this one…

Kerry:

“And if, as Bob Woodward reports, it is true that gas supplies and prices in America are tied to the American election, then tied to a secret White House deal, that is outrageous and unacceptable to the American people.”

Oh, goody, says the left.. Kerry’s finally got that devil in the White House.
But wait: here comes Woodward, disavowing Kerry’s statement, on national TV… even on DNC freindly CNN:

“It’s two sentences, and I don’t say there is a secret deal or any collaboration on this.”

Oops. The guy Kerry claims to be quoting, says Kerry is misquoting him, the clear implication being that it’s an intentional misquote. So what does Kerry do when he’s caught in this lie? He sticks with the lie.

It’s called being a blatant liar.
Apparently it’s what passes for good campaigning in DNC circles these days.

Isn’t it time you stopped lying to the American people, Mr. Kerry?

You’ll doubtless recall that Air America had to go to court to stay on the air in Chicago and LA.
I’m hearing unconfrmed reports they’re off the air again, this time for good, in those markets, unless someone else decides to be stupid enough to kill their listenership. More as I find it.

WASHINGTON (AP) – Amid questions about his military records, John Kerry’s campaign on Tuesday provided documentation of Vietnam War injuries that included shrapnel wounds to his arms, legs and buttocks that earned him three Purple Hearts.

Kerry spokesman Michael Meehan said the campaign was in the process of compiling the rest of Kerry’s naval record and planned to begin posting it on Kerry’s Web site by day’s end. Kerry said all his military records are available to the public during an appearance Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Of course, as is usually the case with Kerry, we’re getting stonewalled….they’re still not available.
Kerry has a history of this. Health records. Tax records, Wife’s tax records, navy records, navy reserve records…. all held up… Kerry won’t release them, after demanding it of President Bush.

Release the records Mr. Kerry.

Now.

DO what you demand of others. The voters are not stupid, Mr. Kerry, stop treating us like we are. Don’t just *say* you’re doing it and expect that to get by.

Isn’t it time you stopped lying to the American people, Mr. Kerry?

When even a place like CNN admits it you know you’ve got ’em running:

Bush led Kerry, the presumptive Democratic nominee, 51 percent to 46 percent in the survey of likely voters, which was conducted Friday through Sunday. The survey interviewed 1,003 adults, including a subsample of 767 respondents deemed most likely to vote in November.

When consumer activist Ralph Nader’s independent candidacy was factored in, the survey’s results were 50 percent for Bush, 44 percent for Kerry and 4 percent for Nader among likely voters.

For all the spin about how the Bush folks spent all that meny and had nothing to show for it…. and the press willingly coughing up that line in every election story for a week.. suddenly the left isn’t laughing now.

It’s all backfiring on them, folks. To this point, Boortz speaks up:

“This isn’t exactly being received as good news by the New York and D.C. press corps.  They’ve hammered Bush for 2 weeks over Iraq and the 9/11 Commission hearings and his numbers went up!  What do they have to do?  It’s just sooooo frustrating.

But back to Iraq for a second.  Apparently all the news coverage about Iraq (biased though it may be,) is actually helping Bush.  Right now, according to this poll, here is how voters ranked the most important issues: 39% say the economy (which is improving,) 28% terrorism and 22% Iraq.  Glorioski!  Where’s health care?  It ain’t there folks. Also, the poll mentions that the public blames the Clinton administration more for 9/11 than they do Bush.”

Rightly so.

But here’s the kicker… this is one of several polls this week, ALL of which show basicly the same result… 

says Boortz:

“Kerry, the liberals in the media and the Democrats in Congress have run their best game and it still isn’t working.”

By the way, I should make mention that he’s also wrong on this; Fallujah is currently surrounded by U.S. Marines, and officials there are working to persuade the insurgents to turn over their weapons.

“Now this is a man who truly hates America.  He believes that there is some definite amount of blood that must be shed on the battlefield by Americans before we can be forgiven for what has happened in Iraq; before America can be forgiven for shutting down Saddam’s rape rooms, his torture chambers and his political prisons.  More American blood has to flow before Iraqis will forgive America for ridding them of Saddam Hussein and working to create a democratically elected government that will guarantee basic rights and economic liberty for all.  He talks of the Iraqi insurgents, the Saddam loyalists, the terrorists who traveled to Iraq to kill Americans, the Islamic fanatics who want to remove any vestige of freedom and liberty from the Iraqi lifestyle … he talks about these Islamic terrorist monsters as if they are comparable to the American Minutemen, and says that they will win.  In fact, Michael Moore wants them to win.  This is a man who celebrates every attack on American positions in Iraq.  This is a man who celebrates the deaths of American soldiers.  And … this is a man who campaigns with John Kerry.”

I’m starting to suspect Andrew Sullivan has lost his mind. Perhaps the meds are catching up with him…. it’s really sad to see.

Let’s see. Since I’ve announced I’d stopped reading him, he’s called for Tennat to be canned, called for a tax hike on Gas, (‘WOEFULLY UNDERTAXED’, is his line of choice for this), compared President Bush to Sid Viscious Blumenthall, decided Kyoto wasn’t such a bad thing after all, and of course continues to fight against the cultural values of our country in terms of homsoexuals. and that’s just on his front page… forget the back pages.

And yet he still calls himself “conservative”?

You’ll recall I suggested that evdience of McVeigh getting help at the Murrah Builidng was sat on by the Clinton misadministation…. Jaime Gorelick, et al… Well, Clayton Cramer’s Blog today shows some of the evidence coming out of the Nichols trial, that sugegsts there’s additional remains they cannot identify… and what we know of it all so far suggests that the added body was helping take out the building.

So less than a day after telling the nation he’d release his military records, and after months of hounding President Bush to do the same, John F’in Kerry has decided not to release his own military records.

What are you hiding, John?  A steady stream of reversals, on again/off again, and flat out lies, over 20 years, does not bode well for America we ever had the ill fortune of your being elected.

“WASHINGTON – A Secret Service document written shortly after the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing described security video footage of the attack and witness testimony that suggested Timothy McVeigh (news – web sites) may have had accomplices at the scene. “

Now, you may recall that I mentioned how evidence of this was sat on by a certain current member of the 9/11 commission. Seems the story’s starting to break, now.

USATODAY.com – Poll: Bush support holds despite Iraq, 9/11 hearings

Amazing, how Useless Toady allows itself to be used in the daily anti-Bush mantra.
Fact is, he’s leading BECAUSE of them, not in spite of them.

I don’t think there is any ‘news’ org that’s been any more hostile tot hje US actions in Iraq than the BBC, including Al Jezzera. So imagine the power of the Great Satan Bush if he manages to get a press report on Iraq’s weapons of Mass Destruction in said BBC NEWS.

Denmark has declassified intelligence reports compiled before the Iraq war which show officials thought Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.
In one report, Iraq was thought to have both chemical and biological weapons, as well as an active nuclear programme.

The extracts appear to contradict claims leaked to a newspaper that there was no evidence to back up the theory.

The Volokh Conspiracy writes in part today that Gorelick is hurtng her own case every time she opens her mouth.. and it;s clearly time for her to step down:

Specifically, she claims that Attorney General John Ashcroft’s account of the “wall” between law enforcement and anti-terrorism investigations, and the role of her 1995 memo in erecting or clarifying the “wall,” was “simply not true.” ……..  Yet rather than present her case in front of the commission, in public and under oath (a la Ashcroft, Rice, et al.), she is doing so in the national media while she remains a member of the Commission.

So, clearly Gorelick has an agenda she’s pushing from the commission table…. when it argably doesn’t even belong at the Witness table, in my view.
