Clearly this is good news and is breaking fast.
Lott Has Moved Little On Civil Rights Issues (washingtonpost.com)
Apparently, the Shaft….errr the Post has decided the presidential campaign is lost of the liberals, so they might as well try hitting some of the steady Republican seats in the Senate.
Moans the Post:
“The controversy over incoming Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott’s praise last week for Strom Thurmond’s segregationist 1948 presidential campaign has focused attention on the Mississippi Republican’s record on racial issues. An examination of his record shows that over the past 40 years, he has consistently taken positions at odds with those of the traditional civil rights community. “
Does nobody working for that paper understand that there is a major difference between bowing and scraping around the civil rights community (who are of late little more than race warlords) and being a supporter of racial equality?
The paper has,in fact,become party to that race warlord mentality when they start in with this garbage.
I’ve just gone over the hitcounts for the last month, and I must say I’m amazed.
I won’t go into numbers because it seems a bit like bragging, and I don’t want to go there. To be honest, though, this page’s readership has passed all my wildest expectations. The message from the readers both directly via feedback and via the counters is loud and clear. You like what I’m doing.
And I’m seeing more and more crosslinks from other blogs, too, which I find interesting. Others have noted the somewhat incestuous situation with other blogs linking to me; but I consider it a compliment.

A really great read, this, on what he cazlls the “religion” of environmentalism.
They got one prediction wrong; they’re human. So what. Unfortunately, it’s not just one prediction. It’s a whole slew of them. We are running out of oil. We are running out of all natural resources. Paul Ehrlich: 60 million Americans will die of starvation in the 1980s. Forty thousand species become extinct every year. Half of all species on the planet will be extinct by 2000. And on and on and on.
With so many past failures, you might think that environmental predictions would become more cautious. But not if it’s a religion. Remember, the nut on the sidewalk carrying the placard that predicts the end of the world doesn’t quit when the world doesn’t end on the day he expects. He just changes his placard, sets a new doomsday date, and goes back to walking the streets.
He also argues that post Clinton appointee to run the EPA Carol Browner, it may be best just to shut the thing down and start over.
League of Women Voters Advocates Liberal Agenda — GOPUSA
A review of the “Where We Stand” section of the League of Women Voters website reveals political goals well beyond that of female voter recruitment. Its comprehensive policy manifesto includes positions supporting abortion, campaign finance restrictions, gun control, reduced defense spending, and prohibition of oil exploration in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Taken point by point, it bears remarkable similarity to the Democratic Party platform of 2000.

Examples of why Jail works, and letting these animals out of jail is at least counter-productive. Liberalized Criminal Justice laws are responsible for these two deaths; there’s no other way to put this.
Personally, I’d like to see the parents and loved ones of the victims level multi-billion dollar lawsuits against the idiots who let these people back out. But you need the government’s permission to sue it…

“PRINCETON, New Jersey (CNN) –Consumer advocate Ralph Nader said Thursday he is leaning toward another independent run for the presidency and will make his decision public in January.
‘We’re testing the waters,’ Nader said in an interview with CNN. ‘It’s a high probability but that is yet to be determined.'”
All this will do is split the left. An election which was already a re-election rout has become even more laughable.
Constitution Deadlock Plunges EU Summit Into Gloom

As I suggested would happen when the EU was first proposed, it has is a peitri dish of liberalism. The EU government is an attempt to impose law across multiple cultures. As such, it ends up breaking down by cultural factions, with each faction trying to use the power of government toward it’s own ends, to the destruction of all. The idiots are dooming themselves, and don’t know it.
Healing Iraq has a better report than most on the anti-terrorism protests that I spoke of the other day.
As if to echo my thoughts about John Manley, yesterday, comes Andrew Sullivan, who says, in part:
“…after doing everything they could to undermine the U.S. at the U.N. and elsewhere in order to protect their own favored dictator, they have absolutely no claim on the tax-payers of the United States. The idea that we should reward them for their obstructionism out of our own coffers on the same terms that we are rewarding countries that gave money and lives to help the liberation is a preposterous one. It’s tantamount to inviting exactly the same kind of intransigence and betrayal in the future. France in particular went much further earlier this year and last than simply opposing the U.S. on Iraq. The French government did all it could to rally world opinion, lobby foreign governments, and delay the war to Saddam’s benefit in order to isolate and humiliate the U.S. They didn’t just object; they opposed, plotted and lied to our faces. Forgetting this is absurd. Rewarding it is obscene. The president is right. Let the real allies of the U.S. benefit from the alliance.
