During the September 26 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, Rush Limbaugh called service members who advocate U.S. withdrawal from Iraq “phony soldiers.” He made the comment while discussing with a caller a conversation he had with a previous caller, “Mike from Chicago,” who said he “used to be military,” and “believe[s] that we should pull out of Iraq.”

That from the Soros crowd over at The MediaMatters, whom I will not link.  Of course, they’re having a fit about Limbaugh’s comment, as you might expect.  Trouble is, Limbaugh’s right, as usual, which I suppose to be the real crime here, by the Soros standard.

Of course to get angry about that, you have to ignore the idea that a loudest of the   spokespeople for the supposed soldiers  who think we should pull out of Iraq was Jesse MacBeth. 

But beyond even this, there’s a question about the accuracy of the claim from Media Matters.  The Soros crowd lied?  Yeah, who’d have thought it?

WASHINGTON —Fox-  A bench warrant was issued Thursday for antiwar activist Cindy Sheehan, who did not appear for arraignment Thursday in a Washington, D.C., courtroom to face charges related to her Sept. 10 disorderly conduct arrest on Capitol Hill.

District of Columbia Superior Court Judge Michael McCarthy issued the order to Sheehan around noon, a court spokeswoman said. The warrant says she is to be arrested and brought before the court. She also faces one count of unlawful assembly.

Doesn’t seem all that strange, given we just had another democrat supporter, One Norman Hsu, being a fugitive from justice.

 Michelle notes the story, as well, and suggest that maybe somebody ought to ask Mr. Chavez where she is.

B.J. Clinton explains the rules for the Politics of Personal Destruction.   Any percieved enemy of the Clintons is fair game.   B.J. makes no distinctino between attacking a politician, who is free to defend himself like John Kerry, and attacking a military officer on active duty, who can not by law respond to a political attack, General David Petraeus.

Actually, much of the blame for the debased state of our modern politics rightly lies at Clinton’s feet.  When ordinary people dream of being president, they don’t harbor visions of enacting a micro-agenda that focuses on minutiae like school uniforms, midnight basketball and drive-through deliveries (which Clinton often incorrectly labeled “drive-by deliveries”, a term that made absolutely no sense).  For a purely political creature like Bill Clinton, it was all about having power.  Doing something or anything with that power was a side thought.

With the Clintons everything is personal, and petty.

The baby’s first meal, reportedly, was a half pound the ball and state, green beans, salad, andBbaked Alaska for dessert.  Sheesh.

Twelve kids?  This one comes in at almost 18lbs.?   I think, Tatiana, we can forget about getting your figure back quickly.

Haystack, Red State, wonders how long it will be before MoveOn.org turns on Mrs. Clinton:

Pejman has already discussed the Reuters piece that covered the Dem debate in Hanover NH, and he couldn’t be more right in wondering just how long before donor monies might dry up.

I’d take it a step further and ask how long before MoveOn has Hillary and Obama on a fresh ad campaign splash. Certainly, suggesting they can’t commit to a withdrawal they are RUNNING on offers up sufficient entertainment for we GOP’ers as we watch them implode…but to ADD insult to injury by offering up what new taxes and spending they will pursue AFTER they fail to lose the war is just too rich for words.

Paul, Powerline, notes of Mrs. Clinton’s debate preformnace:

[Mrs.] Clinton is trying to run out the clock. She refused to answer a number of questions — whether she would take certain measures to fix Social Security, whether she would commit to stopping Iran from becoming a nuclear power even if it required a preemptive attack to do so, whether she would be comfortable with young children in her family reading in school about a prince who marries a prince.

Other answers and positions clearly were formulated with an eye towards the general election — her willingness to keep some troops in Iraq and have them conduct counter-terrorism missions, her support for a Senate resolution co-sponsored by Joe Lieberman declaring certain Iranian units to be terrorists. I think Clinton is correct in believing that she need only run out the clock. However, if her unwillingness to answer questions she doesn’t like persists in the general election, it will be a liability.

Fred Thompson’s campaign sums up the ‘rats:

“I hope every American tuned in tonight to watch the Democrats debate how much to raise taxes, how much to grow government, and which route to surrender they would choose in the war against terror. The contrast between Fred Thompson and every liberal throwback on that stage could not be more clear, and watching them tonight makes me feel downright bullish about winning next November.”

I see where the City Journal has written a reasonably good breakdown of the malcontents in Jena, how that whole situation was mismanaged and a blown out of proportion.  It’s actually a good read, saying in part ;

 Does it follow that this latest object of frenzy on the media’s racism beat is emblematic of America’s judicial system or the state of race relations today?

That is certainly what the ever-expanding army of racial victimologists and their media enablers would have you believe. Since the Jena story became international news last week, the media, the advocates, and pandering politicians have erupted in an outpouring of seeming joy at the alleged proof—after so much diligent trolling for evidence—that America remains a racist country. Senator Hillary Clinton told the NAACP: “This case reminds us that the scales of justice are seriously out of balance when it comes to charging, sentencing, and punishing African Americans.” Senator Christopher Dodd declared that Jena reveals that “de facto segregation”—in the spirit of Jim Crow—”is still very real” in many parts of America. Britain’s Observer announced that Jena shows “how lightly sleep the demons of racial prejudice in America’s deep south.” The New York Times has designated Jena “a high profile arena in the debate on racial bias in the judicial system”—a debate that perhaps not everyone was aware that we were having. J. Richard Cohen, president of the Southern Poverty Law Center, said: “I think a lot of people recognize that the criminal justice system grinds down people of color every day. Oftentimes, it’s nameless, it’s faceless. . . . People see Jena as the tip of the iceberg and ask: What lies beneath?” Needless to say, the Reverends Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have vowed with Biblical thunder to avenge the Jena innocents and force America to own up to its mistreatment of blacks.

But, not so fast:

This is an old complaint, for which no proof has ever been offered, Hillary Clinton’s irresponsible statement notwithstanding. The usual evidence in support of the charge that the criminal laws discriminate against blacks is the far stiffer sentences for selling and possessing crack cocaine compared with powdered cocaine. But that colorblind sentencing regimen, which dates from 1986, was a heartfelt effort to protect the overwhelmingly black victims of crack, not to penalize them. Black liberals such as Congressman Charles Rangel were loudest in sounding the alarm about the effects of crack in the black ghetto. Not even the most deluded racial apologists have ever explicitly suggested that racial bias motivated Congress’s efforts to combat a drug that results in much higher rates of violence among dealers and users, quicker and more onerous addiction, and more emergency room visits than its powdered cousin.

The reason that the black incarceration rate is the highest in the country is that blacks have the highest crime rate—by a long shot. Don’t trust the police, prosecutors, or judges to give a fair picture of black crime? Then go where the bodies are. Los Angeles is representative. In the first seven months of 2007, blacks in Los Angeles were murdered at a rate ten times that of whites and Asians. Who’s killing them? It’s not whites and Asians.

The bottom line here is, and the reason I say this is mismanaged, the race baiting hucksters have had a chance to come in and ply their trade.   And as the article says:

 No one in the Jena stampede dares whisper a word about black crime, because it undercuts the portrait of a victimized race. You can listen to every protest across the country glorifying the “Jena Six” and you will never hear an acknowledgement of the massive social breakdown that is the black crime rate: no mention of the violence in inner-city schools that black students commit overwhelmingly; no mention of the rising homicides in midsize cities that young black males commit when they feel “disrespected.” It is not racism that is putting black men in jail; it’s their own behavior.

Precisely so.  The fact of the matter is that every time the subject is, since the sixties, this is been precisely the answer after all the investigations and all the table pounding and all the false charges are dealt with.

And let’s look a little more closely at the political angle on this.  The usual suspects, including Hillary Clinton, are as the article suggests, trying to project that the false, distorted image they decry is not only prevalent in Louisiana, but in white America as a whole.  Here again we come to the politics of division.  This is part and parcel of the politics that led Bill Clinton so famously to lie about church burnings in the south.  Remember that nonsense?

The claims of leftist politicians to the side, I’m going to tell you point blank that there is not an institution in the country that is not going well overboard to favor African Americans.  Not one.  Yet the crime problem is getting worse.

You know, we’ve all seen the kid who got every advantage.  He was perceived by adults , particularly his parents, as having a rough time of it for some reason beyond his own control.  And so, everyone’s bent over backwards for him, all his young life. Yet, he still acts up.  He’s got an attitude that he can get away with anything.  Mostly, that’s because up till now, he has.

The phrase most commonly associated with such an individual, is “spoiled brat”.  Is it possible we’ve gone too far in our wanting to “help”?

I see the state of Virginia has decided to level charges against Michael Vick.  I’m curious as to the delay in leveling these charges.  It seems reasonable to suggest that their investigation is using the Federal charges as a springboard.  But it also seems reasonable to suggest, that Virginia’s a little late to the party.  One also gets the impression that other states involved are going to be leveling charges before very long.

You know who really takes this on the chin, is the NFL, who given the Belichick thing can ill afford it.  My inclination is to not much care what happens in the NFL this season.  Not much of the laws, given that my Bills are stinking up the joint this year.

At some point in the not so distant future, and better sooner than later, the NFL is going to have to confront its antisocial types.  The ones who can’t seem to follow the rules.   For the sake of the game, if not for the sake of the gravy train that the NFL has been riding on these last 40 years or so.

Free advice for David Shyster: If you’re going to attempt ‘gotcha,’ at least get the basic facts straight. An apology is owed – on air, prime time, loud and clear.

Otherwise you end up on MSNBC as a loudmouthed idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

I think that’s already been accomplished, by two points; first of all this is the same guy that told us all the Karl Rove had already been indicted last summer, and he’s already working in MS NBC.  If those aren’t an indication as to his credibility, (More correctly, the lack thereof) I can’t think of anything that would be.

And by the way, I wouldn’t get too worked up about an apology.  I still haven’t heard one over that Rove thing yet, have you?

The house has joined the Senate in condemning MoveOn’s “Betray us” ad. The AP wire is saying:

The House on Wednesday overwhelmingly voted to condemn the liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org for a recent advertisement attacking the top U.S. general in Iraq.

By a 341-79 vote, the House passed a resolution praising the patriotism Gen. David Petraeus, the commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, and condemning a MoveOn.org ad that referred to Petraeus as “General Betray Us.”

Alex Knapp notes the same story and says:

Still, I find it bizarre that both houses of Congress felt the need to actually vote to condemn a political ad in a newspaper. Don’t Congresspersons have better things to do with their time?

They’re about saving their backsides with this vote, Alex. They have seen the kind of firestorm that occurred against Hillary Clinton, and others who refused to condemn the ad.  Frankly, I think their statement goes a little bit beyond the end or its content.  The ad is reflective of an attitude, which they are also inherently condemning.  It’s about time.

In the meanwhile, it should be noted that this condemnation is yet further evidence of a split occurring within the democrat party.

Billy you know as well as I do, that passion is the thing that makes up for a number of ills, regardless of what your craft is.  Don’t ever lose it, man.

I’ve always thought of light shows as music on different wavelengths.   What is music without passion?  It’s the Musak version of “Smoke On the Water”, OK?  You’ll just be there, doing your utilitarian job, but nobody will notice you, really.

Mentioned this morning on the show that Hugo the Horrible did an eight hour radio show yesterday in which he ranted and raved about the custom of buying teenaged girls boob jobs when they turn 15. Evidently that’s the “coming out” age for girls in Venezuela.  In Hugo’s country banks have special loan programs for young girls to get their new fun bags.  Now … just what would you call a loan like that?  Maybe a tag line on the commercials like “pay interest to draw interest.”

Must be what they call “inflationary pressure”.

I wonder how much of this boob job gift for teenagers stuff goes on here in America?

The “Ralph Nader Democratic Caucus Campaign Draft Committee” is advertising for campaign staffers on the craigslist web pages for Des Moines and New Hampshire. The Des Moines ad offers $1000 a week for full-time work between Dec. 15 and Jan. 15 and seeks “8 experienced (non-profit or political) organizers full time, and 12 field interns (6 part and 6 fulltime).”

So says Iowa Independent.
