Is the Left Un-American?

In a dialogue with one of his readers, Andrew Sullivan argues that if Clinton manages to win the Presidency, it will hardly be a victory for feminism.

Hillary Clinton had a chance to pioneer feminism. But she preferred her own ambition to her alleged principles, and when it really came down to it, she deferred to a man. Bill came first, however brutally he humiliated and used her. But she knew her place – and coped by trying to leverage it for more power. A profile in feminist courage she has never been. Too risky.

I find myself agreeing with this sentiment. While there is certainly no doubt that Hillary Clinton is very intelligent and is a capable politician and campaigner, it’s just as clear that she is, in large part, riding on her husband’s coattails. There would definitely be some extraordinary mixed messages should she become the first female President. On the one hand, her victory is a testament to the ongoing process of progressively better attitudes towards women in the United States. On the other hand, the fact that she owes a significant debt to her husband for her political success does diminish that accomplishment.

This is not as Sullivan indicates, Hillary Clinton deferring to a man.  Rather, this is, simply put, the acknowledgment that without Bill Clinton Hillary would have been a waitress at a Chicago diner.  True, she seems able to maneuver within political circles, but many, who never had those chances that Hillary Clinton has had, show those qualities. Becoming, perhaps, shift supervisors at the diner.

I am not sure, that someone else in her position, would find her accomplishments so dimmed as Hillary Clinton has.   After all, we have each of us in our own lives made accomplishments that we would not have been able to make without someones help.  On that basis, it might be fairly said, that we would not be where we are today, without their help. Statistically speaking there’s about a 5050 chance of that someone, being a man.

But…What kind of man?  Think about this: The reason that Hillary Clinton owes her current situation to her husband, is such a negative, is because Bill Clinton himself was such a spectacular failure.  This, apparently, is something that even Sullivan tacitly, and perhaps unknowingly, admits..

And so we go, dear friends, once more into the breach, to that bastion of fair play and common sense, the Huffington post, wherein we find…

So now we’re six and a half years into Bush and everyone from Helen Thomas on down is declaring him the worst president ever. What no one is saying is the one overarching reason he’s the worst: the Bush administration is the first that doesn’t even mean well.

With the possible exception of immigration reform — and who knows what grotesque financial incentive underlies that — try to pinpoint even one policy motivated by the desire to lessen human suffering, to improve the life of citizens. Nothing. There is nothing.

As much as Democrats loathed Nixon, there was no denying he had some noble goals. He tried for universal health care and… I’m pretty sure there were other things.

As much as Republicans loathed Clinton, they had to know he cared about people.

Actually, Peter, no, we knew exactly the opposite in fact. That was one problem of many with the man…  But pray, continue.

You could argue that even the world’s worst fascist dictators at least meant well. They honestly thought were doing good things for their countries by suppressing blacks/eliminating Jews/eradicating free enterprise/repressing individual thought/killing off rivals/invading neighbors, etc.

So we’re back to the Bush=Hitler meme.  Gee… how imaginative.

By now, I trust the reader has been thoroughly revolted by being told that the current president of united states, is worse than Adolf Hitler.  I trust that those new reading this, who happen to possess more than one brain cell between you, have been able to figure out just how desperate, and just how deranged, the Democrats have become.

An interesting situation, up to the other day, which went mostly unnoticed by the press. Herein,Mahmoud Abbas, aka Abu Mazen, slips up, and admits that the “Palestinians” came to the region when the arabs invaded, and are not an aboriginal people, at all.

Certainly, this little slip went unnoticed by the majority of the American people. And, for that matter, the people of the world. Certainly, it is to most observers a bit of an arcane point. But to me, it seems key, since one of the twin pillars of the Palestinian argument, is that the Muslims of the region are aboriginal. That is to say, descendants of the original Biblical age inhabitants and not the descendants of conquering Arabs or of the other Arabs to immigrated to Palestine in the early part of the last century for the sole purpose of getting jobs from Jewish farms and industries.

I would urge you to read the whole thing, because there are a number of points there, which are quite obviously out of whack with what the Americans, you remember them… they’re the ones funding this little fiasco… have been told.  But here’s the money quote for the point I’m making:

Palestine, which stood long before our arrival [in the region], was looted
and set on fire.

Whoa…. Wait a minute.  Back the truck up.  If you are aboriginal people, and thus have a legitimate claim to the land of “Palestine” how is it that the church Hamas burned, stood long before you arrived?

So, it is as I have been saying for the last twenty years; the “Palestinian people ” are nothing of the kind.  They are claiming a birthright, which is not theirs.  And what do you know; the U.N. back in 1948 actually got one right.  I do love it so, when lies carried by momentum of decades, get blown up by one small slip of the tongue.

Right, senator.  Fences don’t work.  That’s why no ranches use barbed wire, why no prisons are surrounded by high walls, why pricey residential communities never have security gates, and why there aren’t traffic barricades to protect government buildings from car and truck bombs.  Because fences don’t work.  Goats can find a way around them.

Oh what a losing canidate will do when he gets desparate. Earlier this month I commented, a plain ordinary comment, on Barack Obama’s poor attempt to play the race card.   Having misplayed the race card, Obama now proceeds to misplay the relgiion card.  Obama essentially accuses everybody who did not accept liberal secular values of being a religious bigot.

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – Sen. Barack Obama told a church convention Saturday that some right- wing evangelical leaders have exploited and politicized religious beliefs in an effort to sow division.

“Somehow, somewhere along the way, faith stopped being used to bring us together and faith started being used to drive us apart. Faith got hijacked,” the Democratic presidential candidate said in a 30-minute speech before the national meeting of the United Church of Christ. As a presidential canidate, Obama is entitled to tell us how hie would run the country.  Such is his right.  However if Obama wants to tell American what is, and is not morally acceptable, he should resign from the Senate, and from politics and don the collar.

In this cycle Obama has already shown he not ready to stand-up to the Clinton political machne.   By mixing religion and politics, he shown a fundamental inability grasp the seperation of church and state.   By belittling mainstream moral values, Obama shown himself unqualified to ever serve as president.

Tune in this weekend, as FOX News Channel presents the documentary the Public Broadcasting System didn’t want you to see.

It’s a film about the difference between moderate Muslims and the radicals who want to kill us. It asks where are the moderate Muslims and why aren’t they speaking out against the jihadists? And it was financed with $675,000 of taxpayers’ money.

It was commissioned as part of the PBS series “America at the Crossroads” about the post 9/11 world, but PBS executives rejected it.

PBS claims the filmmakers were “alarmist, overreaching and unfair.”

The filmmakers say they were censored because of liberal bias at PBS.

It’s not very often, that I post a promotional announcement, like this, and no I’m not getting anything for this, and in fact could get into some trouble with the copyright. but I posted it, because it confirms what I have been suspicious of a long as regards bias within PBS.

It also speaks rather loudly to a question I’ve been asking for some time.  Specifically, “where are the moderate Muslims and why aren’t they speaking out against the radicals, assuming they actually exist?

-LA TIMES-The founder of an antiviolence group called No Guns pleaded not guilty Thursday to federal weapons charges.

Hector “Big Weasel” Marroquin is accused of selling an assault rifle, a machine gun, two pistols and two silencers to undercover federal agents last fall. He could face up to 50 years in prison if convicted.

Marroquin, 51, of Downey, is a onetime member of the 18th Street gang who founded No Guns in 1996. No Guns received $1.5 million from the city as a subcontractor on anti-gang efforts, but its contract was canceled last year.

Gee.. I can’t imagine why….

UH-huh. I thought so.

CANTON, Ohio —AP- Authorities on Saturday arrested the boyfriend of a missing nine-month pregnant woman on murder charges and said they recovered a body believed to be hers.

Jessie Davis has been missing for a week from her home, where her 2-year-old son was found alone, his diaper dirty, bedroom furniture toppled and bleach spilled on the floor.

The Stark County Sheriff’s Department said a body was recovered in neighboring Summit County at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The sheriff’s office did not give a location but said they believed it to be Davis.

Now, we just got through putting up with several months of guilty until proven innocent,(And a lot of the reasoning on the bandwagon there was because the supposed victim was black, and the accused were three rich white kids…) so I’m not going to jump on the bandwagon that this boyfriend is they have in custody is immediately guilty.

But I think the question is in order, here; how long is it going to be, before we hear the accusation that the only reason the Bobby Cutts was arrested for this murder is because he’s black, and the girl was white? Are we going to see another O.J. Simpson jury nullification, here?
