So now I’m seeing reports that the beheadings have begun in Afghanistan. This is the result of our withdrawal. Joe Biden is having his Saigon moment.

Under what conditions would anyone take seriously United States foreign policy in the future? That’s the practical question.
More importantly, there seems to be a moral question here, as well, one which nobody is dared to address, as yet.
Namely, where is the morality in abandoning the Afghan people to these monsters?
Perhaps the Democrats that are currently in power don’t remember President John F. Kennedy who in his inaugural address, announced that
“…we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and success of liberty.”
Or perhaps the Democrats would prefer that we didn’t remember what he said. I had my disagreements with Kennedy certainly, but those words describe very well what seems to me the values that should be applied here.
What values is the Biden administration applying to this situation?
The following official statement illustrates the perils of Congressfying while drunk.
Statement from Granny Winebox
San Francisco — Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement on the situation in Afghanistan:
“The President is to be commended for the clarity of purpose of his statement on Afghanistan and the actions he has taken.
“The Taliban must know that the world is watching its actions. We are deeply concerned about reports regarding the Taliban’s brutal treatment of all Afghans, especially women and girls. The U.S., the international community and the Afghan government must do everything we can to protect women and girls from inhumane treatment by the Taliban.
“Any political settlement that the Afghans pursue to avert bloodshed must include having women at the table. The fate of women and girls in Afghanistan is critical to the future of Afghanistan. As we strive to assist women, we must recognize that their voices are important, and all must listen to them for solutions, respectful of their culture. There is bipartisan support to assist the women and girls of Afghanistan. One of the successes of U.S.- NATO cooperation in Afghanistan was the progress made by women and girls. We must all continue to work together to ensure that is not eroded.
“Once again, I want to acknowledge the clarity of purpose of President Biden’s statement and the wisdom of his actions. Congress shares the President’s concern for Afghans who have assisted U.S. efforts in country, and we passed Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) legislation to provide for their relocation on a strong, bipartisan basis.
“Most of all, we join the President in acknowledging the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform and their families.
Hat tip, thanks and source.
“San Francisco”, nothing too important either to sober up or go back to work.
“The President is to be commended for the clarity of purpose of his statement on Afghanistan and the actions he has taken.”, it is clear that Joey is running like a scared rabbit, hiding in his bunker and clearing the table for the CCP to take over Afghanistan.
“The Taliban must know that the world is watching”, the Taliban does not care.
“We are deeply concerned about reports regarding the Taliban’s brutal treatment of all Afghans, especially women and girls”, who we squaw.
“the Afghan government must do everything we can to protect women and girls from inhumane treatment by the Taliban”, at this point the Taliban is the Afghanistan government.
I am pessimistic. Oh to only find a Joan of Arc. Golda Meir and female Teddy Roosevelt. Muster up the First Female Volunteer Cavalry. Arm troopers with AK-47’s. Recruit in the field. Kill or castrate ever Taliban soldier. No seventy two virgins for the castrated, pig blood soaked corpses of the departed Taliban.
Thought?
Mark Tapscott over at Glenn’s place:
And yes I’m going to take the whole post, because it doesn’t exerpt well:
CONSERVATIVE MOVEMENT FAILED: Writing in the American Spectator, Scott McKay argues the conservative movement is dead, if it is defined as the Old/New Right Plus Bush Chamber of Commerce Republicanism:
“When you’ve gone from surrendering on gay marriage to failing to summon up convincing arguments for obvious things like ‘boys shouldn’t play on girls’ sports teams’ or that the least racist nation on planet Earth was founded to promote slavery, you aren’t really conserving much of anything anymore, are you?
“When you went from failing to reform government programs like Social Security and Medicare, when it was patently obvious they would eventually bankrupt the government, to signing off on a trillion-dollar bacchanal of ‘infrastructure’ spending only a quarter of which can reasonably fit in that definition, you’re not a fiscal conservative.
“When you progressed from creating a security state capable of spying on everyone in the world with marginal accountability to having little to say when that security state gets politicized and nearly effects a coup d’etat on a duly-elected American president, we can’t really say you’re conserving our liberty.”
McKay advocates a new “Revivalist” movement that sounds an awful lot like what I heard one night in October 1964 on television when a guy from “Death Valley Days” came on the screen and delivered what became known as “The Speech” that launched the Reagan Revolution.
He wasn’t perfect, but he won the Cold War and got Congress to pass the biggest tax cut in American history, rebuilt American military might and respect, and showed how presidential leadership can restore a large measure of the shared civic spirit that once was the norm.
I was one of the legions of idealistic young Americans he inspired to enlist in the movement to save America and who in some key respects were the “Wide Awakes” of our day. Reagan was the right man for the time. But that was 1980. This is not. A revival would be great but would it be enough?
It certainly would be sufficient, in fact more than sufficient, absent the GOP establishment and it’s 70 year long fight against anything that is smacking of actual conservatism The John McCain’s,Miitt Romney’s, the Jonah Goldbergs, Steve Hayes, the Bush family and so on.

The Reagan revolution didn’t fail because it was unpopular, nor did it fail because it’s ideas were not spot on. It failed ultimately because the GOP establishment spent the next 25 to 30 years expunging the list of successes that Reagan policies brought us to. I’ve spoken of this, many times before.
(And, yes, there are far more examples of this over the years, including some specific agreement with Tapscott, previously. And let’s not forget the establishments reaction to the Gingrich revolution of 1994.)

The sad fact is, that crowd is doing precisely the same thing to the record of one Donald j Trump. They’re doing it right now as you read this.
The main part of the problem here would seem to be the number of career Republicans who have come to love the power of government too much…. Enough to sacrifice their actual Republican principles so as to maintain their own power and position.
To prevent overriding and overwriting the successes of actual conservatism, we need to not only defeat the Democrats but the GOP establishment with them… A tall order, certainly.
Term limits would be a start in the right direction toward overcoming this.
The difference you see between the Democrats and the establishment GOP is that the Democrats aren’t pretending to be conservative.
From channel 9 in Denver:
DENVER — Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold said election equipment that may have been compromised must be replaced in Mesa County after an investigation of a security protocol breach.
Griswold said on Thursday that the county must replace 41 pieces of election equipment and get them certified by Aug. 30, or hand count ballots in the next election, because the security of the voting systems cannot be verified. Mesa County must also cover the cost of replacing the machines.

We’ve been telling everybody that will listen that this stuff has been happening all along, and that the election results were at least questionable if not outright fraudulent. Of course, The usual suspects attempted to stand up on their hind legs and tell us all that it was just a conspiracy theory.
Americans are starting to notice the higher prices at the pump caused by the Biden administration and its policies. So what is the Biden administration doing? Kissing opec’s backside. Opec, of course, gleefully reported it:
Biden’s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan issued a statement on Wednesday urging OPEC — the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries — to move faster to restore global supply of gasoline to pre-pandemic levels.
“Higher gasoline costs, if left unchecked, risk harming the ongoing global recovery. The price of crude oil has been higher than it was at the end of 2019, before the onset of the pandemic,” Sullivan said.
“While OPEC+ recently agreed to production increases, these increases will not fully offset previous production cuts that OPEC+ imposed during the pandemic until well into 2022. At a critical moment in the global recovery, this is simply not enough.”
You know, here’s a thought:
Maybe bowing to the radical left and banning all drilling on Federal Land, killing off the energy industry in this country, and with it our energy Independence, was not the thing to do.
The Victory Girls look at that situation again this morning…
Our energy production has been drastically harmed by the Biden Administration’s push for the Green New Deal. The thing is, the OPEC cartel only wants money. As for thinking all involved in OPEC are friendly to the United States? No, no they aren’t.
Here’s the rub. Biden goes begging to OPEC to give us more oil. He doesn’t even try to find out what the capabilities are of our domestic oil production and how quickly that can be ramped up.
Thus, we are paying MORE for oil from overseas instead of paying Americans businesses for their oil.
Given what we know of the Bidens and influence pedaling, one really most wonder, how much money he’s getting for this arrangement.
And that arrangement, ladies and gentlemen is costing you, big time. The cost of diesel is directly affects everything else you buy… Because it’s what fuels the vehicles that bring you everything you have, and the operating costs of those vehicles are directly passed on to you.
That’s why you’re grocery bill’s been skyrocketing lately, for example.
So say Sundance:
Family medical physician Dr. Dan Stock delivers a six minute lecture to the Mount Vernon School Board about corona-viruses in general and COVID-19 specifically. This is one of the best compacted encapsulations of medical science and common sense that I have seen.
Dr Stock is informing and educating the school board about how coronaviruses impact health, and specifically why the current COVID-19 virus mitigation efforts are futile. This video is not likely to remain on-line for long. Hopefully many will see it before it is removed.
Dr. Stock has indicated that he will stand behind his advice. Puts him one up on Dr. Fauci.
Fox news says:
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday announced that he was would be resigning amid the sexual harassment probe in 14 days.
So now the far left is breathing a sigh of relief… And you should be totally dissatisfied with the outcome here.
For details on that point see my post of yesterday
American Greatness says
The national outrage at Cuomo’s handsiness and bullying and the expiation of sin to follow as he leaves the scene, has made it unlikely that Cuomo will ever face justice for the deliberate murder of roughly 15,000 seniors in New York nursing homes. That is a far more serious charge. Were that case to be unraveled, with evidence, in a court of law, or even in a real newspaper, many people besides Cuomo would be in deep trouble. Particularly hard hit would be those for whom he acted in pursuit of unseating Donald Trump in the coming election. So that could not be allowed to happen.
Well, yeah. What was I just saying the other day?
Seems to me this is letting Freddo off easy, the object of which is to minimize damage to the Democrat party.
I mean, let’s hear about murder charges first… Then, and only then is it appropriate to chase the Democrat mantra of “me, too” which they couldn’t care less about with Clinton, Biden, Menendez etc.
How many folks died in nursing homes, again, because Freddo didn’t like Donald Trump?
That’s the true nature of this push to get rid of Cuomo. They want him out of the picture so that we don’t investigate those nursing home deaths.
As I’ve said before, this is a standard play. Understand, it doesn’t matter to these people at all if Cuomo sees jail time or not for his sexual crimes. They couldn’t care less about that.
The sudden push from Democrats to get rid of Cuomo after defending him for so long, is clearly in play only because said Democrats know full well they won’t survive his continued governorship.
Leaving aside the idea that the southern border is still open… There is the actions of the people who were insisting that we leave it that way.
John Hiindraker says:
Our country’s response to the covid epidemic has been an unscientific embarrassment. It is not too harsh to say that our policy has consisted of harassing the general public while exposing the vulnerable. In the parade of irrationality, the Centers for Disease Control has been the leader.
One way in which the CDC’s unscientific approach is currently on display is its refusal to acknowledge that catching covid confers immunity to the disease, to the same extent, and probably more, than being vaccinated. This stands to reason, since the whole point of vaccination is to mimic the effect–production of antibodies–of having a disease.
…
I don’t know why the CDC resolutely refuses to acknowledge either the basic scientific principles surrounding vaccines and the production of antibodies or clinical data confirming that contracting covid confers immunity, but I am pretty sure the reasons have to do with politics, not science
That’s exactly right. As I have been saying here for quite some time now… Since Hillarycare, in fact…
When government runs healthcare, every healthcare decision is a political decision.
Matt Margolis:
One of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s assistants who has accused him of groping her as they were taking a selfie together has filed a criminal complaint against him with the Albany County Sheriff’s office, the New York Post reports.
…
Sheriff Craig Apple of the Albany County District Attorney’s office told the New York Post that Cuomo could be arrested if the allegations are substantiated.
“The end result could either be it sounds substantiated and an arrest is made and it would be up to the DA to prosecute the arrest,” Apple said. “Just because of who it is we are not going to rush it or delay it.”

Seems to me this is letting Freddo off easy, the object of which is to minimize damage to the Democrat party.
I mean, let’s hear about murder charges first… Then, and only then is it appropriate to chase the Democrat manga of “me, too” which they couldn’t care less about with Clinton, Biden, Menendez etc.
How many folks died in nursing homes, again, because Freddo didn’t like Donald Trump?
But as I said before… It’ll never happen.
The Daily Signal…
Senate Democrats demanded this week that the FBI hand over additional information related to its 2018 investigation into Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
The Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee, led by Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., and Chris Coons, D-Del., raised a series of questions about the FBI’s handling of its sexual misconduct probe into Kavanaugh in response to a letter the bureau sent them in June. They expressed particular concern that the FBI had received more than 4,500 tips and shared ones deemed “relevant” with former President Donald Trump’s White House.
Well they tried it with Justice Thomas, they tried it with Justice Kavanaugh, they tried with Donald Trump.
And why on Earth wouldn’t the president be advised of such matters? The FBI after all falls under the jurisdiction of the executive branch.
Anyway…Three attempts, three losses
One would think they would be tired by now of having their backsides handed them in a very public manner..
The party that thinks men can have babies, who has spent the last 50 years telling us that morality doesn’t matter, and who has spent roughly the same amount of time creating ugly rumors about people that they don’t like, these are the same people that want to prevent disinformation from getting out on the internet?

What we have here is a petulant child party complaining that it didn’t get its own way again
The Wonder is that anyone takes them seriously, anymore.
Questioning is the basis of science. So along comes I supposed scientist… Well, read for yourself.
Dr. Peter Hotez, a professor of pediatrics and molecular virology at Baylor College of Medicine, is arguing that federal hate-crime protections may need to be extended to Dr. Anthony Fauci and other scientists “targeted by far-right extremism.”
In his July 28 paper “Mounting antiscience aggression in the United States,” Hotez writes that a “band of ultraconservative members of the US Congress and other public officials with far-right leanings are waging organized and seemingly well-coordinated attacks against prominent US biological scientists.”
With that, the professor contends in his paper that Congress “should look at expanded protection mechanisms for scientists currently targeted by far-right extremism in the United States,” citing a bill that has been introduced named the Scientific Integrity Act of 2021.
The urge for dictatorial rule is strong with these people, and they therefore must be ridiculed, derided and jailed. I’m with Candice Owens on this point.

I’ve got a basketball joke for you.
LeBron james.
Look, even leaving aside what I said about what’s happened to the game of basketball over the years (here) what do we have in Mr James is yet another “oppressed” billionaire, who because he can shoot baskets without screwing it up too badly, figures he also has the ability to shoot off his mouth.
Far be it for me to diminish anyone’s ability to speak out on any topic they desire, including LeBron James.
Thing is, it’s generally a good idea to at least have some connection to reality when you do so, and LeBron James has as of yet not demonstrated that ability. I guess that’s what happens when you live in a billionaire cocoon.
The real problem of course is the number of people that take the guy seriously without bothering to check to see if that connection to reality actually exists.
With the conclusions starting to lean toward LeBron James not being the best in the nba, whatever that means, one can only suppose that he is trying to continue to be “relevant”… Has any trying to maintain his income stream.
It is truly difficult to narrow down a few cases in point of the money that are available but I’ll give it a shot:
(CNN)The political organization cofounded by NBA superstar LeBron James launched a new campaign Monday to promote voting rights and criminal justice reform.
The campaign, “Protect Our People,” is being spearheaded by James’ More Than a Vote, a voting rights organization; and Uninterrupted, an athlete empowerment brand.
“We can’t lose the momentum of last summer,” reads a tweet from Uninterrupted. “We need real solutions to stop police brutality.”
Well how about not being criminal?
That would seem kind of basic and it’s a point that gets ignored by his highness. (Too busy sucking on that tequila bottle at the NBA finals I suppose.)
This line does have the advantage of telling his double digit IQ fans what they want to hear, thus solidifying his multi-million dollar income, but it is of course creating further damage in a society which can afford no more damage.
