Verges; a More Complete Client List

Congrats to Reilly over at Right Voices who apparently saw my posting about Verges, that French lawyer who’s defending Saddam, and came up with an even more complete client list than I offered. The guy’s even a worse cockroach than I thought…

My long-form column column for last week the one about the Oil for Food abuses…has been generating megahits for the last week. Apparently, it’s attracting some attention, inclduing now, other Webmasters.

Frank Savato, over at THERANT.US tells me it’ll be up over there mid-week. I’ll post the link when he puts it up.

Most of you will recall a recent posting in this space as regards Blogdom and the effect it’s having on old-line news orgs… particularly on the ones so dominated by the hard left, such as the New York Times.

Well, along comes a well-deserved gloat, in the form of a post on The NATIONAL DEBATE

The National Debate. Editor Robert Cox suggests that Blogdom is responsible for the recent change or heart at the Times regarding the correcting of their own columnists when they screw up on the facts.

Now, we’ll see if they really DO correct them, and if they wait for the bloggers to kick their butts before responding.

When even USATODAY admits it, you know it’s happening.:

It’s clear, to me at least, what’s happening, here.

Kerry’s Democrats cannot fault Mr. Bush on what he did in response to 9/11 any longer… though they did most certainly make the attempt. So what they’re trying to do now is to claim he didn’t do enough BEFORE 9/11.

That’s the main thrust of the partisan attack leveled by Clarke, et al, and the center of the discussion as regards Condi Rice.

I find this an interesting tactic. More properly, a desperate one.

Think; What Kerry’s really doing is providing a tacit admission that Clinton’s policy of a ‘law enforcement’ approach was an abject failure. He’s doing this because the main thrust of his argument seems to be that Bush continued to follow Clinton’s policy… or, put another way, that Bush didn’t move away from Clinton’s policy fast enough once taking office.

What’s particularly striking about this is that it’s Clinton’s failed policy that Kerry wants us to return to.

UNITED NATIONS CONTROL OF THE INTERNET?

The United Nations is no friend of freedom, and it is no friend of the United States.  The Internet is an American creation.  If people in other countries want to use it, fine.  But operational control should stay here.  We’ve had enough internationalism lately.

It gets better. INSIGHT is running a story suggesting that:

Clarke is suspected of using his former post in the Bush White House as a weapon with which to slash and wound the president during his re-election campaign against Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.). The Kerry campaign’s coordinator for national security issues, Rand Beers, has described Clarke as his “best friend.” According to the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, where Clarke and Beers are adjunct lecturers, they teach a course together about terrorism. Clarke’s detailed Harvard biography specifically mentions his service under President Ronald Reagan and the elder President Bush, but says nothing about his eight years working for President Bill Clinton.

So, what Clarke’s about is simply another partisan attack.

The New York Post is reporting in today’s editions that

“March 28, 2004 — A group of New York families of 9/11 victims came out swinging against Richard Clarke yesterday, accusing the former White House anti-terror chief of cashing in on the tragedy with his explosive book.

‘The notion of [Clarke] profiteering from anything associated with 9/11 is particularly offensive to all of us.’ “

You’ll notice I’ve added the “Theat Advisory” graphic again to this blog. I’ll add it to the rest of the suite when I post the new Bit tommrow, as well. Reason: Updating it wa such a pain in the drain… and I felt that without it being updated by the government issuing said warnings, it mattered little, and in the end did more harm, than good.

I wailed at the time I took the old one down that a good idea would be to make a link publicly available that would update everyone’s link when the government did. A simple matter to post as one file name, what they’re going to post, and change the graphic itself… that way when the situation changes, they simply drop in the new graphic under the same name, thereby updating anyone and everyone linked to it.

Never did hear back from them, which I rather expected… they’ve got some other important matters to attend to. But in my travels today, I managed to find a grapic that appears to be updated under the same file name, and I’ve put it in my template. Looks to me like this should update when the government does. We’ll see.
