Yahoo! News – N.H. Judge Nixes Abortion Notification:
“CONCORD, N.H. – A federal judge on Monday declared a New Hampshire law that would require parental notice before a minor could get an abortion to be unconstitutional.
The ruling came two days before the law was to have taken effect.
U.S. District Judge Joseph DiClerico said the law is unconstitutional because it lacks an exception to protect the minor’s health. “
Forgive me for asking, but isn’t the health of the minor, the task of the parent?
Saudi Police Foil Airliner Attack :
“LONDON (Reuters) – Saudi security forces have seized light planes packed with explosives near Riyadh’s King Khalid airport, foiling a plot by suicide pilots to blow up a Western airliner on the runway, a British newspaper said on Sunday. “
Democrats: Let’s hear again about how the Saudis aren’t doing the job.
“WASHINGTON (AP) – Democratic presidential contender Howard Dean has demanded release of secret deliberations of Vice President Dick Cheney’s energy task force. But as Vermont governor, Dean had an energy task force that met in secret and angered state lawmakers.”
This is NOT going to fly with the voters.
Dean Wants Party Leader to Slow Rivals’ Attacks ”
‘If we had strong leadership in the Democratic Party, they would be calling those other candidates and saying, `Hey look, somebody’s going to have to win here,’ ‘ Dr. Dean, the former governor of Vermont, told reporters trailing him as he campaigned through central Iowa. Referring to one of Mr. McAuliffe’s predecessors, he added, ‘If Ron Brown were the chairman, this wouldn’t be happening.'”
To get the fll context of this statement, one needs to recall that Ron Brown was about to turn evdience on his former boss, Bubba Clinton. We know what happened to him. My gues is this is a rather clear threat to someone Dean considers is not a ‘team player’.
Few echo Dean’s call to repeal all tax cuts – The Washington Times:
“No other proposal by Howard Dean draws more criticism from Republicans and many of his rivals for the Democratic presidential nomination than his plan to repeal all of President Bush’s tax cuts, including those for the middle class. “
Translation: Even most of the Democrats think the cuts the right move at the right time… else at least they know the vast majority is behind the President on this one.
Dean is running on wanting to raise taxes? This will be a pleasure to watch, I think.
FOXNews.com – Top Stories – Rescuers Search for Survivors of Iran Quake
The US will undoubtedly help with the relief efforts, here. But I wonder how it will be received.
“WASHINGTON (AP) – The Holstein infected with mad cow disease in Washington state was imported into the United States from Canada about two years ago, federal investigators tentatively concluded Saturday.”
No shock here.
It’s about what I expected.
Saddam: Former Leader of the Global Jihad?
It’s official: Saddam Hussein is no longer a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad. The committee of Ashrafs, a group in Baghdad that guards the Muslim Prophet’s genealogy, has admitted that Saddam forced them to add him to Muhammad’s family tree. Three days after he was captured by American forces, the committee corrected the record.
Dean’s secure in his view of Saddam
Dean said there was no evidence to suggest the Bush administration’s use of force against Iraq had anything to do with Libya’s move.
Apparently, Dean needs to read this
Man blows a fuse in lights competition
“JENSEN BEACH — A friendly Christmas lights competition at Parkside Apartments turned nasty Monday when one of the also-rans ‘became enraged’ at his loss and pulled several lights from the winner’s display, according to Martin County sheriff’s reports.”
Ya know, somehow, I don’t get the impression this is what they mean when they say “Christmas Spirit”
“The fate of Beagle 2 remains uncertain this morning after the giant radio telescope at Jodrell Bank in Cheshire, UK, failed in its first attempt to detect any signal from the spacecraft. ”
God bless ’em for trying, but I doubt now they’ll find out what’s gone wrong, unles they manage to land a person on the planet to examine the damage.
Ever think about those days? I mean, someone goes up there, while there, they examine some of the artifacts we’ve landed there, and finds someone forgot something really stupid…. like connecting the antenna, for example… (Du’ Ooh!!)
Charles Krauthammer: Aftershocks of war
The Democrats seem congenitally incapable of understanding that force has not just the effect of disarming the immediate enemy, but has a deterrent effect on others similarly situated. Iraq was not attacked randomly. It was attacked as part of a clearly enunciated policy — now known as the Bush Doctrine — of targeting, by pre-emptive war if necessary, hostile regimes engaged in terror and/or refusing to come clean on WMDs.
Mullah Omar did not get the message and is now hiding in a cave somewhere. Saddam did not get the message and ended up in a hole. Gaddafi got the message.

Canceled flights avert terror attack
Says WND:
“U.S. government officials say they believe some of the passengers scheduled to board one of the flights from Paris canceled because of security concerns might have intended to hijack it and crash-land in Las Vegas, according to the Washington Post.”
Here’s another example of the Bush Admoinistation and our security people doingheir jobs. Perhaps Howard Dean will be able to tell us how this situation makes us no safer. Why can’t we get a real reporter to press him on this question?
We’ll see the left puke up their usual pablum about how all this really didn’t happen, was never a threat, or that the French did our job for us, etc, etc etc and you’ve heard all of their stuff before. Facts, however, don’t seem to matter to Dean and his minions…
“MANCHESTER, N.H. — Presidential contender Howard B. Dean, who has said little about religion while campaigning except to emphasize the separation of church and state, described himself in an interview with the Globe as a committed believer in Jesus Christ and said he expects to increasingly include references to Jesus and God in his speeches as he stumps in the South. “
Why the change?
Dean, 55, who practices Congregationalism but does not often attend church and whose wife and children are Jewish, explained the move as a desire to share his beliefs with audiences willing to listen.
In short, he’s doing it to attract voters.
Another Sham, foisted off on us by a Democrats desperate for power. Anyone remember that picture of Bubba with the huge bible in his hand coming out of church one Sunday?
Uh-huh.
An interesting, if expected note in Canada’s National Post:
“A Canadian intelligence report says al-Qaeda-backed militants in Libya want to assassinate Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, providing a possible explanation for the dictator’s recent attempts to improve relations with the West.”
