Christian author Christian Author and apologist Ravi Zacharias …who I have come to be an avid listener to of late… tells us that the reason that we are forever surprised by the passage of time… Looking in the mirror and recognizing that the grey bearded gink in that mirror really is you … How fast kids are growing up, our friends growing older and so on…is because we aren’t meant to be living in a finite environment. We’re supposed to be living in eternity.

Riots in Berkeley, only the Lord knows what resides in Antifa’s collect heart. Yet we can be sure that what ever it is, it is not love.
What ever Antifa is selling, it is sure not love, and I for one am not buying it.
Hat tip and more, Professor Jacobson, Legal Insurrection
Hundreds of black-clad masked Antifa rioters descended on a park in Berkeley, California, after a “No to Marxism” rally was canceled.
A few people showed up anyway, and were viciously beaten and attacked.
Mainstream media journalists caught in the middle described the Antifa rioters arriving in battle formation armed with shields (which were specifically prohibited under published police rules) and the police appearing to stand down. Journalists who were filming were repeatedly attacked by Antifa.
The far left, Antifa and their toady supporter mayors appear to be entered in a criminal conspiracy to make peaceful protest impossible. Making peaceful protest impossible will make violent protest necessary.
With hurricane Harvey bearing down on Corpus Christi, the nonsense has already begun from the supposedly mainstream press. Specifically, we are being told that this will be a test for the Trump presidency.
There are a couple of problems with this that unfortunately most people won’t notice.
First and foremost since when is government the first line of defense against anything? If you refuse to move out of the way of the bus that’s hurtling toward you, laws about jaywalking don’t mean much.
Secondly, comes the idea that we didn’t see this kind of billing for the storms that occurred on Barack Hussein Obama’s watch. Of course it doesn’t take a great deal of street-smart to figure out why that might be.
Finally even if government was the answer to any of the problems brought on by weather events… And far be it from me to defend Donald Trump on much of anything… But since Congress has been so wrapped up in it’s hatred for anything that has not establishment, it has apparently decided not to confirm any of the appointees that Trump put forward for the Federal Emergency Management Agency… That’s arguably crippling the agency’s ability to deal with the onrushing storm. Is that Trump’s fault or is that the fault of the “establishment at any and all cost” Congress”?
One more thought. I don’t imagine the establishment would be reacting any differently in this situation were Ted Cruz to be in the White House. This isn’t even about Democrats versus GOP anymore. This is about those in power wanting to remain so at any and all cost. I’ve made it clear repeatedly that I don’t like Donald Trump much if at all. But it does seem a little unfair to me to be pinning this one on him, already.
In news just slightly more shocking than water is wet, the National Association for the Advancement of [Liberal] Colored People(NAA[L]CP) has weighed in the Colin Kaepernick controversy, from from MSN Sports:
WASHINGTON — The NAACP on Wednesday called for a meeting with the NFL to discuss the fate of quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who refused to stand for the national anthem to protest police brutality against African-Americans.
[…]
The NAACP intended to join that rally, and Derrick Johnson, the organization’s interim president and CEO, said in the letter to the NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell, that it’s apparently “no sheer coincidence” that Kaepernick isn’t on a roster today.
“No player should be victimized and discriminated against because of his exercise of free speech — to do so is in violation of his rights under the Constitution and the NFL’s own regulations,” Johnson said.
News flash for theNAA[L]CP, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell does not hire players. Individual teams do. Teams want back-up quarterbacks, to stand on the sideline, hold the clipboard, not to tear apart the locker room and neither to motivates would fans not to watch the game nor buy tickets. The NFL is a business, and Kaespernick is motivated by politial agenda and not by any desire to help the league succeed. Maybe ESPN will hire Kaespernick to replace Robert Lee?
Yes siree Bob, there is nothing that says you were Against Racism better than removing an oriental from your announcing staff because his name is Robert Lee.
And no, this is not the Onion.
Call it lefticide, left on left warfare. The new fascists, b/k/a Anfifa, have taken a position so far left as to draw fire from the left wing Southern Poverty Law Center, video:
Antifa uses violence to promote her fascist agenda. Pray would happen if they gained legitimate power.
In their day the Viking were savage warriors, to be rightly feared. The Viking were invaders. In contrast the Klu Klux Klan was a mere terrorist gang of hoodlums. That Vikings were vastly more nasty than the Klan. The Klan left behind statues. The Vikings entire cities.
Yet in York, the Brits have celebrating the Viking invasion for over thirty years, video:
Yet so far as I know, no British snowflakes were reported to be injured, or in attendance. So why the difference?
Nobody has ever accused a social justice warrior of being brave, or smart. Baltimore mayor steals public property in the stealth of the night, from Baltimore Sun:
Confederate statues in Baltimore were removed from their bases overnight by city contractors, who used heavy machinery to load them onto flat bed trucks and haul them away — an abrupt end to more than a year of indecision on what to do with the memorials.
Mayor Catherine Pugh, who made the decision Tuesday morning to remove the monuments overnight, watched in person as the four statues linked to the Confederacy were torn from their pedestals.
I am not in awe of the late Bobby (Robert E.) Lee as a military strategist. However Bobby Lee was no Nathan Bedford Forrest. Lee attacked military combatants in board daylight. You can’t say so much for Mayor Pugh.
Reax, Professor Althouse:
And doing it under cover of darkness suggests that it’s something shameful that needs to be hidden. If you can’t do it proudly, by daylight, you’re not ready to do it.
Social justice warrior pretend to hate confederates. Well there are 482 former confederates entombed in Arlington National Cemetery. Are these social justice cowards going to come for these Americans and well?
If honoring an vowed and unapologetic racist is now a mortal since, take down with the structure, or rename, every single thing named for Bobby “Sheets” Byrd which was paid for with public tax dollar, a very partial list from Wikipedia:

Of of course there’s hate on both sides and lots of blame to go around for Charlottesville. And for that matter other places as well.
But let’s examine the real Point here. Both sides of that Skirmish in Charlottesville both the supposed Nazis and the supposed Communists leftists and assorted rabble… All of them consider that government is the solution to their problems. And the real problem here.
Ponder this statue in Seattle.
Can anyone tell me what the antifa folks would have thought of tearing this statue down? Martin Luther King was strongly against homosexual marriage. Should we be tearing his statues down around the country?
And by the way, I’m still waiting for Obama to come out with a strongly-worded statement condemnin g antifa.
Do you understand yet? It’s not hate they’re protesting. In fact they’re encouraging it. It comes down to who gets hated as it always has been.
Ladies and gentlemen I give you the 79 year-old New Hope of the Democrat Party, Maxine Waters.

Any any questions, class?
What we have in Virginia is Black people who were never slaves fighting white people who were never Nazis over a Confederate statue erected by Democrats, because Democrats can’t stand their own history anymore and somehow it’s Trumps fault?
I mean, have I missed anything?
Bill Whittle on the brand of coward called social justice warrior, video:
Proof from the lame stream media, from Herald-Sun:
DURHAM A protest in downtown Durham on Monday night left a statue of a Confederate soldier erected nearly a century ago crumpled on the ground.
Sheriff’s deputies recorded the event but did not intervene as a protester climbed a ladder and slipped a yellow, bungie-like cord around the soldier’s head and arm and a group pulled the cord.
Cowardly social justice warrior attack statue of brave soldier too dead to fight back
Doomsday’s been cancelled.
Possibly for the first time in his life the little gargoyle has been caught with .
China’s support of un sanctions against North Korea didn’t hurt the situation, but ultimately made little difference. We’ve all seen the way the tests have been going. The fact is he didn’t have the capability of which he was boasting for so long. Never did.
What we have here is the United States taking a leadership role in world affairs again and Tin pot dictators being reduced to near irrelevance on the world stage.
And this is precisely as it should be. Don’t figure on the little gargoyle causing any more problems in the near future.
But perhaps more importantly, is the idea that any of his like will also be similarly reluctant to cause problems going forward particularly when they can’t make good on their threats.
For all that it pains me to say this, Donald Trump got this one right.
I I have seen exactly one person point out the fact that one group of protesters had a permit to March. One did not. Can you guess which one didn’t?
Once once these two groups got together the city despite deploying resources did absolutely nothing to stop the altercation. The Democrat Party run City.
The party that had the protest permit if you will had a number of people showed up armed. Yet, there was no armed violence. I’m quite sure that means something but I’m equally sure that the leftist press will never mention it.
Furthermore there was no destruction of property by the group that had the permit.
Of course those city leaders who were directly responsible for keeping the peace are now all over the news decrying only one of the two groups for what happened because of the city’s neglect of the situation.

It gets better. Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe had direct command of the situation. The vice mayor of Charlottesville has direct ties to “Black lives matter”.
It doesn’t take rocket science to come to the conclusion that being able to keep the narrative going in the direction that Democrats would want is more important than the safety of Charlottesville citizens.
Not unlike Baltimore and Ferguson, the ACLU is reporting this morning that there was an active Stand Down order issued to the police by the Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe. And by the way Baltimore and Ferguson are both being sued over those Stand Down orders. I’d like to see a successful lawsuit brought here as well.
