Almost before the echo died from my posting Robert Palmer’s story, Fox News is reporting that George Plimpton (search) has died.

Word on the wire just now that Robert Palmer is dead in Paris from a heart attack at age 54.
Amazing, given that he did not, as far as I know engage in the excesses of Rock Stardom.
