I repeat myself. You can judge a man by his enemies:
[I]t’s entirely possible that by bringing the full fire of the New York media (read: outposts of the DNC press office) down upon his head, Ted Cruz’s “New York Values” line might just resonate enough to allow him to end-run Trump, and to carry him through the early primaries.
Ed Driscoll, Instapundit.
Ted Cruz has made an enemy of the taxpayer funded abortion on demand crowd, the uncontrolled imigration mob and all free citizens who believe in the Second Amendment. Good choice Senator.
The moment, video:
I a shot that Donald Trump had to know was coming, the only Manhattan conservative he could name was the late, and great, William F . Buckley. While Buckley was conservative, he was not a lot.
In a point in which is personal, Cruz offended Governor Andy, b/k/a Andrew “Mario, Jr.” Cuomo. Governor Andy on New Yawk values, from Cortney O’Brien, Townhalll:
“The Republican Party candidates are running against the SAFE Act — it was voted for by moderate Republicans who run the Senate! Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves. Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”
Governor Andy has said the conservatives are not welcome in his New Yawk, illegal allien yes, but conservative no. This from a person, Governor Andy, who not even hold to his purported values, to wit a professed Christian who supported abortion on demand.
Governor Andy wants to President Andy. Fat chance that. It looks to this observer that when Cruz says New York [City] values he means liberal values. The more Cruz forces the media to spotlight failed liberal values, the closer he gets to the White House, from Buzz Feed:
Cruz then reeled off a list of New York-specific policy complaints in the form of apologies, apologizing to New Yorkers for Cuomo’s fracking ban, to small businesses “driven out of New York City by crushing taxes and regulations,” to “all of the African-American children who Mayor de Blasio tried to throw out of their charter schools that were providing a lifeline to the American dream,” and “to all the cops and the firefighters and 9/11 heroes who had no choice but to stand and turn their backs on Mayor de Blasio because Mayor de Blasio over and over again stands with the looters and criminals rather than the brave men and women of blue.”
In the electorate as a whole, New Yawk values are toxic. Way to go Ted!
