I can’t say I’m displeased by this point. Anyone will be better than Davis.
However, I still wish McClintock stood a chance, here. It’d be great if we could have a real conservative out there.

What happened to the momentum built up by Bustamante? well, for one thing, immigration. Debra Saunders writes that …

Apparently, it took an overt anti-American racist like Bustamante, to say nothing of the anti-American bumbling of Davis, to make Californians see just the kind of thing Democrats have been supporting all this time, and react against it.

Word on the wire just now that Robert Palmer is dead in Paris from a heart attack at age 54.

The so-called “Debate” out in California, last night, I mean. But hey, what the hell, this is California we’re talking about. Arnold proved he could give and take that garbage with the rest, and came off looking at least an equal to the rest in the smarts department.
The one who impressed me as having the most sense, and the best leadership skills, was Tom McClintock.. Which of course dooms him, out there. As I say, this is California we’re talking about. He deserves to win, but I doubt he will.
Davis, for his part, didn’t show up, apparently not wanting to give the rest a target to shoot at.
A story running in the NYTimes this morning, suggests that a recent Gallup poll has two thirds of Iraqis polled, like the idea that saddam is gone from power, and think it was all worth the trouble.
Interestingly enough, the page that the story is on, refuses to resolve. Couldn’t be the Times, now could it?

According to an article published today in Annanova,

She said she was disappointed other country singers didn’t back up the Dixie Chicks in their criticism of George W Bush’s politics on Iraq.
Translation: their numbers are dropping like a stone in the country world. The Country world has rejected them for the anti-American views. As such, they’re trying to make it where the far left is more plentiful; Rock and Roll.

The New York Times, in a story about the California Recall, complained about the “mass disenfranchisement” that the story claimed happens when voters “in the counties stuck with punch cards are far more likely than other Californians to have their ballots thrown out.”
Apparently, the NYT doesn’t read itself, or figures it’s readers don’t.
Oh, yeah. They don’t remember it, apparently, but the Times recently ran a story that statistically showed quite clearly that punch cards have a lower rate of invalid votes than the touch-screen voting systems that the court rules should be in place prior to the vote occurring.
NewsMax suggests that the story showing those facts should be exhibit A in the case for overturning the 9th Circus.
I concur. But more; I say again the problem here is Sulzberger himself.

Ah, yes. A very decisive person. Or not, maybe.
After saying he’d probably have supported a vote for the war, he then comes up with this gem.
Just the sort we want for President, huh?
