LA WEEKLY says:
“The L.A. Times has a story Saturday about three more women who allege that gubernatorial front-runner Arnold Schwarzenegger engaged in sexual misconduct over the years. Schwarzenegger, on his bus tour north of Fresno, said charges in the story “are absolutely untrue.”
The Times maintains that none of the women came forward at the behest of Schwarzenegger’s opponents. That claim, however, is looking increasingly dubious. One of the three women in the story says she came forward at the urging of Jodie Evans, described by the Times as a peace activist and “co-founder of the women’s peace group Code Pink.” At best, this is an incomplete, misleading description.
Here’s what the newspaper should have said about Evans. She is actually a former close colleague of Gov. Gray Davis, a longtime Democratic operative and a friend of noted Democratic hit man Bob Mulholland. Evans is also the ex-wife of Westside financier Max Palevsky, the man who gave Gray Davis his first job in politics as the fund-raiser in Tom Bradley’s 1973 mayoral campaign.
Oops! Someone should have told John Carroll, the Times editor and anti-bias crusader.”
Gee, a Democrat-run Smear campaign? Who’d have thought it?

Those excellent points aside, perhaps the biggest point, in all of this….In a leauge where teams are punished for hiring coaches of the wrong color, how can we argue that over-protecting someone of a particular race isn’t happening? And, finally, let’s consider this episode in light of the treatment by the press of one Dusty Baker.

I stand by the above comments, despite the recent successful Eagles season. As reinforcement for my statement, I would suggest to you that a look at the Falcons game is exactly what I’m talking about. Philly has gotten where they ware beause they’re a TEAM of people. As such the indiviudal’s talent is a bit less important. Vick of the Falcons found himself playing alone. As such, his team lost, even though as an individual player, Vick was by far more effective.
So it has been with McNab, all along. the numbers for McNab still tell the story, as I said when this post first went up.

If it sounds like I am angry this morning, you’re quite right….I am. Our old pals, Germany and France and their freinds in the Arab world, are screaming about the loss of life in the attack on the terrorist base in Syria. So where were they following the Haifa bombing?

According to the AP,
Israeli warplanes attacked an Islamic Jihad training base deep in Syria in retaliation for a suicide bombing at a Haifa restaurant that killed 19 people, the army said Sunday. Israeli media said it was the first Israeli attack on Syrian soil in more than two decades.
It’s about time.
Interesting wrinkle; There can no longer be any denials about it being a Hamas base… Hamas is swearing vengence. Why would Hamas care if it wasn’t theirs?

WHY IS THE PRESS IGNORING THIS?
The Indian News Agency is reporting:
Kuwaiti security authorities have foiled an attempt to smuggle $60 million worth of chemical weapons and biological warheads from Iraq to an unnamed European country, a Kuwaiti newspaper said on Wednesday.
The pro-Government Al-Siyassah, quoting an unnamed security source, said the suspects had been watched by security since they arrived in Kuwait and were arrested “in due time.” It did not say when or how the smugglers entered Kuwait or when they were arrested.
The paper said the smugglers might have had accomplices inside Kuwait. It said Interior Minister Sheik Nawwaf Al Ahmed Al Sabah would hand over the smuggled weapons to an FBI agent at a news conference, but did not say when.
Iraqi Interior Minister Nouri Al-Badran met on Tuesday with Sheik Nawwaf and discussed cooperation between the two countries in security matters. His visit is the first by an Iraqi interior minister to Kuwait since 1990.
Anyone care to guess why the American pres isn’t all over this one?

The pattern is established more firmly, and I’m more disgusted.
About a year or so back, I wrote about Trent Lott and his problems with liberals taking highly questionable interpretations of his statements at Strom Thurmond’s funeral, and fanning the fires of racism.
In that column, I drew parallels between that manufactured controversy, and one happening here in my own hometown of Rochester, NY. I found it interesting that the two occurrences should be recorded so close on the timeline to one another… at a juncture of history where the Democrats needed the electoral help such controversy invariably brings them.
Which brings us up to the current day, wherein the Democrats are once again in trouble, electorially speaking, with an election coming up. Once again, Democrats take questionable interpretations of positions their favorite targets take, and fan the flames of racism, both on the national stage, and here locally, apparently, in both cases trying to stir their base. And what do you know… we’re dealing with the same nonsense, involving, oddly enough, the same players locally.
Take a look at what I wrote at the time. The parameters of that situation are remarkably like the more recent ones. Suspiciously so.
For the national picture, Rush Limbaugh is, simply put, the biggest target out there, being the country’s most prominent conservative. He is, thereby, the biggest blockage to their efforts to regain power in Washington DC. And conveniently, he’s also a rich white guy. So, the attack by the left on the following statement:
“I don’t think he’s been that good from the get-go. I think what we’ve had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. There is a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn’t deserve. The defense carried this team.”
Bootz break it down better than most…
“1. Donovan McNabb hasn’t been a very good quarterback from the beginning.
Anything racist there? If there is, I can’t find it. Do we now find ourselves at the point where you cannot criticize a black athlete without being called a racist?
2. The National Football League has some social concerns.
Translation, there’s a bit of political correctness in the NFL front office. I don’t know if that’s true or not. You tell me! Is there anything inherently wrong with bringing up the possibility?
3. Some sportswriters want to see a black quarterback do well.
Well now isn’t that a shocking statement! Can you imagine that! A few weeks ago a female place kicker actually kicked a field goal in a Division 1A college football game. Do you think that it is at all possible that there were some sportswriters out there, maybe even some female sportswriters, who wanted to see that kick go through the uprights? Would that make these sportswriters sexist? So we find it perfectly reasonable to understand why a female sportswriter might
want to see that gal kick that football, but you just can’t imagine a black sportswriter wanting to see a black quarterback succeed? Come on, admit it. You went to government schools, didn’t you?
4. Donovan McNabb has been getting more credit for the team’s success than perhaps he deserves.
Maybe so, maybe not! I’m certainly not knowledgeable enough to comment on that. I couldn’t name any Eagles player other than McNabb .. and if it weren’t for this story I wouldn’t even be able to name him. I’m just not that much of a fan. But can’t a question like this be addressed to literally hundreds of players in each of the four major sports?
So .. there you go. Rush’s statement broken down into four easily understandable statements, none of which is the slightest bit racially insensitive, let alone racist.”
Indeed… Rush says himself, correctly:
“I’m not the one that’s even introduced race in this, if you want to know the truth. You can go back. You can read Philadelphia sports media last year, the year before, and you can see that guys have been writing about the great things that Donovan McNabb’s success means in a racial context.”
Locally, here in Rochester, Bob Lonsberry was certainly one of the biggest voices locally for the centrists and those right of center, and was thereby the most visible blockage to the left’s gaining power at the County level, here in the upcoming election, in the form of a black Mayor who has been a dismal failure in that role, trying to get to the county level of government…
So, just as before, within a week, both these folks come under fire for supposedly racist comments they made while on-air. Yet when the charges are dissected, they’re found at best wanting, and in truth outright fabrications… just as the cases I discussed in the earlier article.
I know; it sounds like I’m making the charge that these attacks are coordinated and deliberate, and launched for the sole purpose of political gain… in fact being what Bill Clinton called the politics of personal destruction being waged by liberal Democrats. And you know what? You’re quite right; that’s exactly what I’m saying. When Liberals want to fire up the base, they charge racism. It’s knee-jerk time.
And now of course, from the Journalism Standard that is the National Enquirer comes word that someone in the state or Florida is tossing Limbaugh’s name around as regards an investigation of abuse of prescription drugs? Anyone want to bet that the one doing this supposed investigation is a Florida Democrat still ticked off that Gore lost?
I mean, come on, now. Can anyone seriously look at all these events, and NOT conclude that each was an orchestrated and collectively coordinated event?
I haven’t jumped on the bandwagon about this White House Leak business because I doubted it happened. It just didn’t ring true. Turns out, I was right. Wilson made all this up, out of whole cloth. Matter of fact, given Wilson’s status as a ‘good’ Democrat, I’d not be overly shocked to hear he outted his own wife to get back at the president for ousting the Democrats.
Wilson says:
“In one speech I gave out in Seattle not too long ago, I mentioned the name Karl Rove,” he said. “I think I was probably carried away by the spirit of the moment. I don’t have any knowledge that Karl Rove himself was either the leaker or the authorizer of the leak. But I have great confidence that, at a minimum, he condoned it and certainly did nothing to shut it down.”
Translation: I have to admit I lied, but I still stand by my statements, even though I have no proof whatever.
Wilson has revealed himself as what I took him for in the first place; a contemptable excuse for a human being.

FRANKEN STILL WON’T DEBATE: Al Franken, best-selling author and fave Bush basher of the Hollywood elite is still bawk-bawking. The guy who has no problem dishing it out can’t seem to take it. His publicist told us a month ago that he’d love to come on, they’d call us in a week. We kept calling, week after week. Finally, we gave him a window of “anytime and anyplace.” The publicist said, “He’s really busy.” (Read: he’s afraid to come on.) Not until the NY Post wrote an item about Franken-chicken’s heming and hawing about appearing on the Laura Ingraham Show did Franken’s “people” step forward. Of course, Franken’s rep now claims they never agreed to come on. (This, from a guy who wrote a book about conservatives’ lies and lying.) Franken himself wrote to the NY Post a few days later saying it’s not that he’s bawk-bawking, it’s just that he doesn’t want to come on because Laura “pulls stunts like this.” Bawk-bawk.
Those in Rochester will have a fuller understanding of this situation than will the rest. The mayor of Rochester, a Democrat, hasn’t liked a local talkshow host for some time now, and finally got at the guy. For all of the complaints about the politics of personal destruction, this animal seems to engage in it. I responded last night, to the talkshow host:

Bob; First off, let me introduce myself as a former radio person; I spent about 15 years in the business, and from that angle I can speak to what you’re going though with perhaps more authority than most who will read your comments. I will not, though, beyond saying those feelings are genuine.
I WILL, however, point out that I tend to agree with what you told Dave McK the other day. Yes, you got stupid. You provided the idiots a target. But they too were guility in that they took on a target of opportunity. It’s called a ‘cheap shot’

The pattern here is too obvious to ignore… after years of there being no worries about racial discrimination from the left, now suddenly, there’s a national crisis? The tming of this is questionable at best.
Forgive me, but this is obviously a co-ordinated effort.. The Democrats have shown their hand… they will play the race card in this is desperate effort to steal power again, by any means they can… in this case dealing the race card they’ve been holding up their sleeve…. The card they won’t play against their own racists, black, white, or whatever.

I must say, that of all the participants involved with this, I’m most greatly disappointed by WHAM. After years… decades in fact of faithful listenership, I cannot bring myself to listen to the place anymore.
Not accepting of ‘diversity’, they said? First of all, the diversity of Goff and Johnson, clearly, is a choice lockstep or suffering what, ironicly, Bill Clinton called the politics of personal destruction.
And WHAM is a party to that, now. They had a choice and made the wrong one. I will not be a party to that, even in the second hand. As such, I am no longer a Clear Channel listener.
I would also ask voters in Monroe County to consider carefully Maggie Brooks. Johnson, with this stunt, to say nothing of the one I listed above, has proven himself unworthy of serious consideration by the fair minded. As to your future, Bob; Have you considered speaking with Allen? Yeah, OK, not the best situation, but…. (Shrug)

About 15 homes and stores were vandalized over the weekend with graffiti attacking various religious, political and minority groups, police said Monday.
The graffiti was found early Sunday on upscale homes, two clothing retailers and a Pottery Barn store, which included statements hostile to President Bush and Jews, police Lt. Mitch McCann said.
No synagogues, mosques or other religious institutions were damaged and the vandalism lacked any specific patterns, McCann said. Police were investigating the incidents and no arrests had been made, he said.
The attacks, which targeted sites between Sunset and Santa Monica boulevards, coincided with the Jewish new year, Rosh Hashanah.
Any further questions about who the racists are and from where the hate comes?

….the Democratic party doesn’t want me as its constituent. The Democratic party doesn’t care about the things I care about, and doesn’t want me to be the best I can be. It doesn’t ask me what I can DO for the country, and it doesn’t tell me that “fear” is all I have to fear.
No, instead, this party seems to preach fear, doom, gloom, hatred, mistrust, animosity, divisiveness and anger at all the wrong people. I should be beating myself up for being white, ashamed of my country, guilty for “bringing terrorism” upon myself, begging so-called “allies” for forgiveness, and generally feeling shitty about myself and everyone around me who isn’t just like me.
The Democratic party asks me to believe a baby isn’t really a person if its mother says it’s not, right up until the day it’s born. They want me to believe we all have some Constitutional “right to privacy” except when we want to teach our kids at home. They want me to worry incessantly about protecting civil rights and free speech, unless I decide I want to pray in school, post the Ten Commandments at my desk at work, make decisions about my child’s health care myself or hire, fire and admit people to college based on merit, not on the color of their skin or the gender with which they’ve chosen to identify.
These candidates not only don’t represent what I believe, they seem to openly mock, deride and disrespect it as well, and that’s what turns me off the most. Disagree with me? No problem. Stand by your convictions? Good for you. Accuse me of being “evil” because I think abortion is an abomination, or tell me I’m a “racist” because I want to call “illegal” immigrants ILLEGAL, and you will be on the receiving end of my full-throttle disgust.
