Hopefully the American people are beginning to wake up to these facts.
Yeah like we didn’t see this coming.
OPEC and its allies including Russia decided on Thursday to stick with a schedule of gradual production increases as the U.S. weighs an unprecedented release from its national strategic petroleum reserves in an attempt to bring down gasoline prices.
We could of course produce our own oil in quantities that OPEC can’t even approach but of course we have Joe Biden running things.
Oh, and about the release of strategic oil reserves? Those are supposed to be for military use if we end up in a war. And with this idiot in charge, the likelihood of that happening is immediately and order of scale higher. And finally, notice the timing of the announcement from the White House on the matter:
Mr. Biden’s plan, to release one million barrels of oil a day for 180 days, would represent roughly 5 percent of American demand and 1 percent of global demand.
180 days? Isn’t that the distance between now and the midterm elections? Well I guess it’s strategic after all. The strategy being to try and minimize the damage the Democrats have done themselves. Make the American people think “well maybe it’s not so bad”…
At the end of the day, Joe Biden is King Midas in reverse.
That temporary and relatively small decrease in pump prices? It’s not really going to help.
Take a close look at the picture I’ve linked here. That’s about half a tank for the truck that I drive. Is anybody naive enough to think that those prices are not being passed on to the consumer in everything that those trucks haul, everything that those trains haul, everything that those Jets Haul?
In other words Biden is raising the price of literally everything.
Everybody knows it’s the insane”green” nonsense doing this, and yet the mainstream media continues the chant:

Because after all they had an election to win.
Once again, here’s a subject where I’ve been labeled conspiracy theorist. Now even the Washington Post is admitting it’s true.
The one subject they haven’t touched on though, and probably will not, is the connection between Hunter Biden and the big guy. Once again, damage control.
But it’s all starting to come out now. Conspiracy theories? No. Spoiler alerts.
We have now the single most corrupt first family in American history Barn none.
Look I couldn’t possibly care less about who slapped who at the Oscars…. Mostly because I couldn’t possibly care less about the Oscars in the first place.
Hollywood hasn’t made a movie I’d be interested in seeing in the last 10 years anyway. So why would I want to sit through a 3-hour long leftist virtue signaling session, disguised as an awards ceremony when I’m not in the least interested in who’s winning the awards for movies I wasn’t interested in in the first place?
As to the slapping incident, my wife made mention of not liking insult comics, and brought the name of Don Rickles into the mix. I think that’s probably a flawed comparison. Rickles, whatever else you can say about him, you always knew the insults weren’t genuine. It’s unclear to me that that point can be applied to this situation.
Was it staged? I don’t know. Not that I care that much, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was. Hollywood understands very well that fewer and fewer people are caring about

Iss output and even fewer about its supposed award ceremonies. If Hollywood wanted to redirect America’s attention, they could apparently picked a better way of doing it.
I’ll bet there are eight of Australians way out in the outback, beyond the reach of any broadcast television or radio who are arguing about the incident around their council fires at night, unlikely as that sounds.
They’ve even got me devoting space on the blog to hollywood, and that’s even less likely.
The only other thing I can say to that is it’s a darn good thing that rock wasn’t making fun of Alec Baldwin’s wife.
“The story of the Ukrainian air force, once fully told, will undoubtedly influence the thinking of air power theorists and combat aviators for generations to come. Above all, in this age of advancing technologies, Ukraine’s fighter pilots have clearly demonstrated the enduring importance of the human element in aerial warfare.
‘Maybe it’s stupid, but we don’t give a s#!+ about technologies — we’re just trying to do everything with what we’ve got,’ Juice said. ‘It’s our land, it’s our families, it’s our cities. We are defending them. That’s the main motivation for us. And we succeed in this, because the Russians are surprised. They are ….ing surprised. Especially about our ground air defenses, and also about our fighters. Because they were not expecting resistance in the air at all.'”
One of the things that we keep hearing about the Russian troops in this little escapade is that a lot of them don’t even have a clue where they are much less what they’re fighting for. So, we’re dealing with a highly motivated Force, the Ukrainians against a force with very little if any motivation…. The Russian conscripts. And the ones that do understand the answer to that question, aren’t tremendously excited about it, either.
That was the difference in our own revolution. We were fighting for our homes. Our families. Personal motivation, indeed.

Whatever else this Russian attack on the Ukraine has done, it has ended for once and all, the arguments of the gun grabbers who have been telling us for generations now that the civilians don’t need”weapons of war” because they don’t stand a chance against the military anyway.
What’s going on there is the gun grabbers are definitely and correctly afraid of exactly the opposite being true. They’ve spend a lot of time the last hundred years or so trying to explain to us that the American revolution, we’re a bunch of farmers with pea shooters took down a supposedly massively Superior Force was nothing but a one-off. This conflict is one of many in history that exposes that argument for the garbage that it is.
The people making such arguments, never seem to take the human factor into consideration. Where leftist policies fail, that’s usually why. That’s why the Russian invasion is in the process of falling apart. Motivations on both sides of the DMZ. A massive amount of smug ineptitude on the part of the Kremlin is also present here and figures large in all of this, as it did with the British losses. But the human factor is the largest part of this…. The willingness to take advantage of that ineptitude.
The human factor, their motivations, the human ability when motivated… Both for good and for evil… our founders understood very well indeed and why they wrote the second amendment the way they did.
Addendum: Clarence Thomas was released from the hospital yesterday, finally.
I’ll tell you this, if I’m Justice Thomas, I’m being very careful about where I go and what I do and with whom.

In nominating Ketanji Brown Jackson, Joe Biden told us that he nominated her because she was to be the first black woman on the Supreme Court. He was doing this we were told because “diversity” .
Well let’s take this one step at a time.
Let’s take her skin tone first since that’s the order that Joe Biden put the description in. Notice please, that the very people that are cheering on her nomination and her being on the court, are the very same ones that are sticking pins in their Clarance Thomas voodoo dolls. A look at the reaction to the news of his hospitalization tells us that much at least.
Author Ellen Hopkins made no secret of her disdain for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas Sunday as she tweeted in response to a report on the latter’s hospitalization that she “wouldn’t mind” if his health “forced him into retirement.”
“Trying to maintain the high road. Don’t want him to die. But wouldn’t mind if his health forced him into retirement. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas hospitalized with infection, high court says,” the former journalist turned author of New York Times bestsellers, wrote in the now deleted tweet, including a link to an article in The Los Angeles Times reporting that Thomas had been hospitalized with an infection.
Maintaining the high road, indeed.
Apparently, as Joe Biden has indicated previously, you’re not black if you vote anything but Democrat. And it seems clear that that kind of non-thinking is not the sole property of Joe Biden.
Let’s take the second part of that description. Woman.
All during Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings, the mantra was “Believe the woman.” The idea was not only anti-constitutional, and anti-juries prudence but absurd, even back in the day. I mean, even ignoring the Bill Clinton’s the Gary Hart’s the Cuomo Brothers and so on, that chant was a broken crutch from the beginning.
Then consider,.. As I showed you yesterday, she couldn’t even define what the word woman means.
Which of course meshes rather nicely with what we’ve been seeing cooked up in the mindlessness of the left these days.

It seems eminently logical to conclude that neither of those two descriptions that Biden applied, black, or woman, mean anything at all to the Democrats except in so far as what political advantage they provide.
Is it any wonder that the ratings for the Democrats everywhere in government are cratering?
What we have here is somebody who is obviously intelligent enough to understand that giving the obvious answer to this question is going to turn off a lot of Democrats and probably scuttle her nomination to the Supreme court. This doesn’t say as much about her as it does about the Democrats who nominated her
The sad part is that while most of us would consider that a disqualifying problem, to most Democrats it’s a definite boon.
As best I can tell no further examination of this woman is needed to show us that she would be an utter disaster.
Addendum: more confirmation.
When does life begin, in your opinion,” Senator Kennedy asked Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson for starters.
“Senator… um… I don’t… know,” Judge Jackson replied, followed by an uneasy, awkward laugh.
“Do you have a belief?” Kennedy pressed.
“I have, um, personal religious and otherwise beliefs that have nothing to do with the law in terms of when life begins,” Jackson responded.
“Do you have a personal belief though about when life begins?” Kennedy probed.
“I have a religious view that I set aside when I am ruling on cases,” Jackson evaded again.
Senator Kennedy pushed further on the point, asking Judge Jackson an important follow-up, “When does equal protection of the laws attach to a human being?”
“Well Senator, um… I believe that the Supreme Court… um… actually I, I actually don’t know the answer to that question — I’m sorry — I don’t,” Judge Jackson responded, again with an ill-timed grin on her face as her initially confident answer turned to another know-nothing response.
Now, remember what I said yesterday:
What we will see is Democrats using their majority status to ram through the nomination process somebody who’s only apparent qualifications are that she’s the right sex and the right color, and that she’ll tell us all that the constitution says it’s okay to kill babies.
Does anybody really think she doesn’t know the answer to these questions, or is it that she just doesn’t want to answer for fear of costing herself votes?
Go ahead and tell me I didn’t call this one.
Does anybody remember the Lightbringer telling us all about how less expensive energy wasn’t coming back? He did everything but pull Jimmy Carter’s trick of telling everybody to wear a sweater.
According to him, there was nothing that government could do to solve the high price of gasoline and diesel fuel and heating oil and so on during his administration. Of course it was all the oil companies fault.
And what was it all about? The myth of climate change.
It was 50 years ago today that the big headline was the coming ice age. That’s what the experts were telling us at the time. Which leaves us with an obvious question. How many times do the experts have to be wrong before we realize that they’ve been full of thick gooey brown stuff, all this time?

The left used that Hysteria that they created for the purpose of instituting draconian laws as regards energy usage, and in the doing crippled the economy.
Rather like today.
But look closely….
What happened after Obama left office?
Bang!
$1.94 a gallon gasoline.
Now, how did that happen?
A complete and total reversal of the Obama green energy nonsense.
Trump came in and got government out of the way. Eliminating roadblocks to new drilling sites pushing the construction of the XL pipeline and so on.
You see, government doesn’t need to be the white knight, doesn’t need to be the savior, doesn’t need to be the night in shining armor. All it needs to do is go away. Get smaller. Stop micromanaging everything. Get out of the way.
The free market is the answer. Not government.
But of course the Democrats won’t see that because they want to control everything. And that, dear reader, is why both the Democrats and the GOP establishment were so desperate to discredit Trump. His policies caused a shrinking of government, and the usual big government types can’t take that.
What needs to happen then is we need to stop them from controlling everything by removing them from office. Every Democrat you can find needs to go bye-bye. Every GOP establishment critter needs to follow them out. I think I would be correct in naming Mitt Romney as one such.
We have a country to save.
It’s not that I believe she subscribes to any particular morality…(in truth I believe her to be about as amoral as they come.) It’s more like anyone getting a good look at her would never believe it.

I suppose that what brought this thought to mind when I when I saw that picture, this morning is reading about the latest Supreme Court nominee, Ketanji Brown Jackson. As you might expect the Democrats and there’s stenographers in the mainstream media were heaping praise on the woman.
You see, I remember the attempts to scandalize Brett Kavanaugh and Clarence Thomas, to name but two.
That’s always been plan B for the Democrats, when plan A to disqualify conservatives from the bench doesn’t work. I’m thinking we’re probably not going to see that happening in this case.
We are also not going to see GOP senators digging into the woman’s yearbooks in an effort to discredit her. We will not see Republicans dragging up Republican operatives from her erstwhile classmates desperately trying to drag up something anything that will take her out of the picture.
What we will see is Democrats using their majority status to ram through the nomination process somebody who’s only apparent qualifications are that she’s the right sex and the right color, and that she’ll tell us all that the constitution says it’s okay to kill babies. Those qualifications were primary in Joe Biden’s description of her when he announced the nomination and in his comments about her since.
With this, the Democrats are trying to present themselves as champions of diversity, which is of course absurd.
Rush Limbaugh used to say that the only diversity that Democrats don’t like is diversity of thought. I Dare to suggest to you that this hearing process and the subsequent and inevitable confirmation, will prove that out handily.
An equally potent indication of fear about diversity of thought, comes from the reactions we’ve been seeing across the left about Clarence Thomas being in the hospital these last few days. I suppose I’ll get told that Clarence Thomas isn’t a real black and I’m just a racist for even mentioning it.
But watch these confirmation hearings over the next few days and then tell me I’m wrong in my observations here.
Glen Reynolds brings up a column he wrote last December:
It’s time to admit it. Less than a year in, Joe Biden’s is a failed presidency. Biden knows it, the press knows it, and voters know it. And our foreign adversaries like China and Russia know it. It’s also time to look at the “cabal” of business, labor and political leaders who foisted the Biden administration on us. That won’t be hard, as they were openly bragging about their efforts less than a year ago.The failure is obvious. The administration is so desperate, it’s begging the press for better coverage. (What, they’re supposed to lie about gas and food prices? I guess so.) The Chinese and Russians are moving aggressively against the United States and its allies, on the ground, on the seas and even in outer space, because they don’t fear repercussions from a tired, incoherent president who presides over an administration of woke incompetents and Obama retreads.
And voters? Voters know firsthand. A staggering 63 percent of them think the country is on the wrong track, according to this week’s Wall Street Journal poll. Only 27 percent think it’s on the right track. Forty-six percent expect the economy to get worse; only 30 percent think it will get better. Far more expect inflation to worsen than to improve. Thirty-three percent think crime will get worse. Fifty percent think the nation’s political divide will worsen.
Reynolds says it’s time to hold the people that pushed him off on us accountable. He’s not wrong. The problem with removing him from office at this point is that puts that giggling pile of incompetence, Kamala Harris in the big chair. It’s clear now why she was chosen…. People are far less likely to try to remove him from office when she’s the alternative.
