I confess to my quixzotic quest for the perfect April Fool’s, a yarn that can neither be believed nor be easily dismissed.  Here the Biden campaign, or artful fraud has created such a meme that can neither be easily believed nor dismissed out of hand.  The URL on the picture did lead to a Biden website, but not to picture in question.  In any case, I vote real.  What say you?

As to President Donny, maybe the analogies to the Gipper are apt, from OAN:

April 22, 2020

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he had instructed the U.S. Navy to fire on any Iranian ships that harass it at sea, a week after 11 vessels from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGCN) came dangerously close to American ships in the Gulf.

Close interactions with Iranian military vessels were not uncommon in 2016 and 2017. On several occasions, U.S. Navy ships fired warning shots at Iranian vessels when they got too close.

While the Navy has the authority to act in self-defense, Trump’s comments appeared to go further and are likely to stoke tensions between Iran and the United States.

“I have instructed the United States Navy to shoot down and destroy any and all Iranian gunboats if they harass our ships at sea,” Trump wrote in a tweet, hours after Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps said it had launched the country’s first military satellite into orbit.

To Nancy Antionette, b/k/a Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, put down your designer ice cream, get on your government jet, get back to your office, convene the House and get back to back. The President has just given you another reason to throw a hissy fit and start yet another round of impeachment.

P.S. Mrs. Pelosi, when you sober up, you might ask yourself what would President Thomas Jefferson do?

To the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, Well done Sir.

The mantra of the social justice warrior is to never let the facts obscure their agenda. Speaker of the House defending down playing the health threat posed by the Chinese Corona Virus (Wuflu) because in her demented minds referring to a virus, manufactured or let loose in the CCP China is somehow stigmatizing Chinese-Americans, video:

For the record, the President never blamed the Wuflu on Chinese Americans. He placed the blame of the Peoples Republic of China. But for Pelosi, attacking a stigma which only exists as media talking point is more important than protecting the lives of Americans.

John Hinderaker says:

It looks increasingly unlikely that COVID-19 deaths in the US will exceed those we suffered two years ago due to the seasonal flu. Do you remember that news story? That shutdown, with catastrophic costs to tens of millions? I don’t.

Indeed, no.

And wasn’t it just yesterday that I had somebody wailing that the end of the world was nigh because there were lot of people wanting to open up the economy again?

But…

The problem of course with asking GM to use Lordstown to make ventilators, is the quality control will be about on par with that of their automobiles. Granted, it’s not as bad as Fiat-Chrysler, but what is? In any event, you’re still dead.

Up here in New York state on the one hand we have Cuomo the lesser telling us that we have gone beyond the peak of this covid-19 thing, and the death rates are starting to come down. On the other hand the local supposed news media is telling us that Monroe county officials are making plans to use refrigerated tractor trailers to store the covid 19 dead. They haven’t started doing it yet.

Well, there’s a reason for that… in total there have been 26 deaths inside of Monroe county because of covid-19. This is over the period of the last month. Hardly an unusual number of deaths for this area.

I fully understand why contingency plans are needed for every kind of event. But the kind of publicity that this is receiving is nothing short of scare tactics. I can’t help but conclude that there is either a lot more going on surrounding this than we are being told, or a lot less. I’ll tell you the truth I’m having trouble deciding which.

Ponder the idea that the party that lost 33,000 emails is pushing for email voting. What could possibly go wrong?

Ponder the idea that it took a worldwide pandemic to bring our unemployment levels back up to where they were as of the time that Obama left office.

Aside from maintaining the family Chinese panda powered graft train, I can’t think of single qualification Slow Joe, b/k/a Joseph Biden, has to be President, from Red State:

MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle was interviewing former Obama bro Jim Messina today, who was ranting about Donald Trump, calling his press briefings a clown show. Instead of asking her guest to pull it back a bit or countering that ridiculous charge, Ruhle smeared herself with honey and ran right into bear country.

Here she is actually suggesting Joe Biden set up his own “shadow government” to counter Trump.[…]

Of course, there’s a reason Biden hasn’t done this. He’s simply not capable of it.

Invite the press and do it live Joe.

Okay so the headlines are saying that Obama has come out and supported Joe Biden’s candidacy for president.

It’s obvious though, by watching the timing of this thing, (waiting until every other possible candidate was knocked out of the box), that Biden was not by any stretch of the imagination Obama’s first choice.

The message being sent here of course is that Joe Biden’s campaign slogan is now “at least he’s not Donald Trump”.

Which of course, brings a level of excitement to this race akin to that of watching the snails racing in Cucamonga. How do you suppose this election is going to turn out?

I have openly wondered a couple of times now if there wasn’t something about this Chinese Communist Party virus that we weren’t being told. I have stated flatly on at least one occasion that there is something far more or far less, about this whole situation.

The steps being taken to minimize the spread of the virus are extraordinary at least and possibly unprecedented. Then again, possibly not.

Okay, admittedly, if we limit our comparisons to peacetime, the actions being taken by the state and federal governments as well as the locals are unprecedented. The only other time that we have seen this level of governmental control of individual actions across the entire nation, has been during times of war. That in itself causes me to wonder a bit, and those thoughts come out something like this:

Is our government operating as if we were in a state of war? Are they making the assumption, or do they have knowledge that the virus we are now dealing with is the result of an intentional attack on the rest of the world? It would explain a lot.

I see the complaints from libertarian crowd, and leftists as well, for example New York Governor Cuomo, who normally couldn’t care less about the Constitution, now suddenly worried about constitutional rights in this crisis. I’m somewhat sympathetic to the argument but I can’t get over the feeling that there’s something more to all of this than we are being told. Even FDR, with all of the extra -constitutional gobbledygook that he brought to the table, needed a state of war to do most of what he did. (all of which, it should be noted, prolonged the depression.)

Without a state of war as a motivator I find a difficult if not impossible to believe that someone who is by far demonstrably more dedicated to the support of the Constitution, would be going to such an extra -constitutional lengths.

It seems reasonable to speculate on these matters given what we know about China’s recent activities. We know, for example, that China has been building up its military at a rate heretofore unseen in the world. We also know very well that the Wuhan lab owned by George Soros has been doing the Chinese Communist party’s bidding in terms of investigating diseases of this sort. We also know as of this morning that the Chinese have shut down any attempted investigation on the matter, which of itself does everything but put a neon sign on the place saying “COVID DEVELOPED HERE.”

I have nothing that I can directly point to other than these things but I come away with the distinct feeling that there is a lot going on here that we’re not being told.

Say it is not so Groping Joe.  Over the stay in home Easter weekend, the New York Slime pretended investigate the sexual assault allegation against the Senator, former vice president and not presidential candidate one Joseph Biden(creep – Delaware.  Former Biden aide Tara Reade has accused Groping Joe of sexual assault in 1993, from NY Post:

“The Times found no pattern of sexual misconduct by Mr. Biden, beyond the hugs, kisses and touching that women previously said made them uncomfortable.”

The Slimes tweeted that is could find no pattern of sexual misconduct, except for behavior that normally be considered sexual misconduct.

I’ll skip over the ‘rats attempt to smear Brett Kavanaugh, and go back to Biden attempt to politically Lynch now Associate Justice Clarence Thomas.  As I recall Anita Hill’s complaints were that Thomas asked her for unwanted dates and told dirty jokes.  Behavior which I would presume made Hill feel uncomfortable.  Yet not some uncomfortable that she quit working for Thomas.  In contrast, Reade quit working for Biden.  So can Slow find the literate member of his staff to explain of what Thomas was guilty and how it was disqualifying, that somehow excludes Biden chronic pattern of behavior.

I also propose a two person rehearing of the Biden v. Thomas hearing, but with the roles reversed.  With Associate Justice Thomas, or his designated proxy. as the chair; and Biden, or a member of his staff you speak a coherent sentence.  If Associate Justice Thomas declines to either participate or designate a second, I would settle for Rush Limbaugh.

This is perhaps the most subdued Easter Sunday in my memory. No church gatherings no family gatherings I didn’t even hear any church bells around me this morning on Easter Sunday. That’s a first, I think.
Underneath it all however is the feeling that we will survive this. Scarred perhaps, and probably slightly changed by the experience, but we will survive.

and after all, isn’t that the Easter message? That because he lives, we may live also?

Question asked on Facebook this morning…

What does Trump get out of pushing hydroxychloroquine as a cure for covid-19?

My answer;

Voters that are still alive.

And you know, maybe the Democrats are to take heat of that. If they did, they might not need so many dead voters on the rolls.

And speaking of this Corona thing, consider the idea that it took a worldwide pandemic to bring us to the unemployment level we had during the Obama years.

There really wasn’t any purpose for Bernie Sanders trying to win the Democrat Party nomination in the first place, but particularly so now with the coronavirus in play.

He can’t campaign in a way that would make any difference. So he finally dropped out today.

The market responded by rallying some 700 points, apparently understanding that Joe Biden doesn’t have a chance of winning the White House, given that there are two people the Joe Biden can’t beat. Donald Trump, and Joe Biden.

As Matt Margolis points out:

While Joe Biden’s path to the nomination is now secure, Biden faces other hurdles during the remainder of the campaign. The coronavirus pandemic has essentially halted all campaigning, and while Biden has tried to use his “shadow briefings” as a demonstration of his leadership, they’ve been one disaster after another.

Biden also faces other challenges. He suffers from a major enthusiasm gap. Trump voters are more than twice as enthusiastic about voting for Trump as Biden voters are for voting for him. While Bernie is likely to urge his supporters to vote for Joe Biden, a recent poll shows that 15 percent of Bernie supporters will actually choose Trump over Biden. Biden also has repeatedly plagiarized Trump’s coronavirus response, and, after opposing Trump’s travel ban with China and calling it xenophobic, he flip-flopped on the issue, supporting Trump’s action.

So barring an Arkanside (which strikes me as eminently possible) Donald Trump just won a second term. Which means, in turn, that the Republicans can spend more time securing House and Senate seats.

According to press reports, they’ve been something on the order of 2.4 million legal gun sales in the month of March. That is an absolute record in gun sales. And yet, there have been no mass shootings. The results are surprising, certainly, but you won’t see the news media talking much about this, if at all.

Additionally, in response to the covid-19 problem, the federal government has opted to temporarily suspend rules and regulations regards truckers and the hours they can drive and required rest breaks and so on. According to the reports I’m seeing, there is a goodly number of them that are going absolutely hate on this stuff. They’re getting the job done keeping the shelves full moving food from point A to point B.

And yet, in this case as well, the results are surprising, and the news media isn’t talking about this one much , either… There has been no spikes in the number of traffic accidents involving tractor trailer rigs.

Just a thought here… perhaps in at least these two cases over -regulation was the solution to a problem that didn’t exist.

Might we conclude that Government it its infinite wisdom, in both cases attacked the wrong problem?

There are blondes, dumb blondes and then their is Mika Brzezinski from Breitbart:

Monday, MSNBC “Morning Joe” co-host Mike Brzezinski reacted to President Donald Trump’s Sunday press conference with the White House coronavirus task force discussing the coronavirus pandemic.

Host Joe Scarborough noted Trump is “pushing an unproven drug” in hydroxychloroquine to help combat the virus. Brzezinski then speculated Trump continues pushing the drug because “there’s got to be some sort of financial tie to someone somewhere.”

“Dr. Fauci wasn’t allowed to talk about what he feels is important to say about this drug that the president keeps pushing,” Brzezinski stated. A lot of people would say, follow the money. There’s got to be some sort of financial tie to someone somewhere that has the president pushing this repeatedly. But more importantly, he had Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx, which most people — I think we can universally agree — are trying to slow the spread or trying to contain this virus, are trying to save American lives, as we are looking at our worst week yet ahead.”

We have Chinese Wuflu pandemic that is killing people.  We have a sixty year old generic drug, with a proven track record of relative safety, that cures patients with the Wuflu.  The we have Dr. Fauci, a seventy-eight year old deep state medical bureaucrat willing to standby and watch Wuflu patients die, while he develops, test and get approved some pie in the sky miracle Wuflu vaccine.  Question for Dr. Fauci, after some thirty years, how in your HIV vaccine doing?  Virus vaccines are hard to develop and even then fall far short of proven.  For example millions take the season flu vaccine every year, and thousand of them die each year from the seasonal flu.
