Much has been made of the pre-dawn arrest of Roger Stone in his home in Fort Lauderdale. To make this arrest, Special Counsel Robert Mueller, probably having delegated the task to his subordinate Andrew Weissmann (who is known for this tactic), assembled a full-scale FBI SWAT team of 29 members, replete with long weapons, body armor, and even a flash-bang grenade or two. The arrest took place at “zero dark thirty” or 5:30 A.M. Nevertheless, a CNN crew was on hand to film the whole thing.
Once upon a time, this level of force was considered necessary only to raid suspects able and inclined to shoot back, or who might destroy evidence. Think Symbionese Liberation Army or drug kingpin Frank Lucas of American Gangster fame. In such cases, in which the suspects really might shoot back, a television crew would never be allowed, on the grounds that they could be killed in the crossfire. The fact that a CNN crew was allowed to film Stone’s arrest is evidence that nobody believed he was dangerous. Indeed, he was not: he is a 66-year-old white-collar suspect with no prior history of violence, who didn’t even have weapons in his house. Even the judge processing Stone’s arraignment implicitly accepted that Stone was not dangerous; he allowed Stone to be released on a $250,000 surety bond.
Some joker or jokers, decided to use a twenty-nine man SWAT team to arrest a sixty-six year old white collar suspect with no history of violence, and then leak the raid to CNN. Did Fearless Leader’s clowns think they were trying to arrest the Branch Davidians or pray tell Elian Gonzalez? No honesty law enforcement officer invites a news agency to a freeping SWAT raid.
An interesting article at Liberty Unyielding this evening, by Benny Huang. I will quote it extensively here because I want to drag with it the links involved.
When a Hillary-supporting Muslim Democrat of dubious sexuality attacked a “gay” disco in Orlando, the ACLU and the media blamed Christians. When a bisexual, Bernie Sanders-supporting, alleged child molester was arrested that same day, just hours before he planned to shoot up a West Hollywood “pride” parade, ThinkProgress blamed Christians and conservatives. In 2017, the New York Times apologized for claiming as fact that Tucson shooter Jared Lee Loughner had been inspired by Sarah Palin and her notorious crosshairs map. When Robert Bowers killed eleven worshipers at a Pittsburgh synagogue, the media pinned the blame on — who else? — President Trump. Considering the fact that Bowers is a registered independent, that he specifically stated that he hadn’t voted for Trump,and that he thought Trump was controlled by Jews, this was an absurd claim.
I sometimes ask myself how any one group of people could be so utterly incompetent when it comes to assigning blame. How is it that liberals’ accusations of incitement to violence seem to contaminate the wrong people with such disturbing regularity? And then it occurs to me. They always blame the people they really want to be shamed and silenced, whether or not they are guilty of anything.
Liberals don’t care how broadly blame is spread. They don’t even mind when blame is apportioned to the complete opposite target — blaming Christians for a Muslim terrorist attack, for example, or blaming John Birchers for a communist’s assassination plot.

Of course Benny’s spot on here, (and I would urge you to go read the entire article, I think you’ll find it worthwhile…) but while he states flatly that he’s not out to point out the bias in the supposed mainstream press, saying in part that such bias is…
…so glaring at this point that no one who wasn’t trying could possibly miss it…
… that will be my point here.
Because look, does anybody really suppose that the amount of hate we see coming out of the Democrats these days, would be whipped up to this frenzied pitch absent the advertising campaign that the supposed mainstream news media is engaged in?
Those that are pushing the leftist agenda these days have learned their lessons very well from Joe Goebbels.
They know that what they’re printing and what they’re coming up with on air is not truthful. They know they’re lying. But to tell the truth would be counterproductive to their goal.
If one looks closely at the list of people is that the Muller investigation has indicted, and for what, what we find is crimes that wouldn’t exist at all absent the investigation.
The business with Roger Stone is no different.
Robert Mueller has absolutely nothing on what he was originally supposed to find in the first place, specifically because there wasn’t anything there to be found.
Of course you can’t say that because of the negative political effects that going back to Congress and reporting precisely that will have on Democrats.
But there’s something truly disturbing about all of this that nobody has mentioned so far.
What in the world were CNN’s cameras doing as the FBI under the place and arrested Stone? Obviously, somebody tipped them off. Somebody inside Robert Mueller’s organization. Frankly, it seems troubling even if you don’t like Stone.
Seems to me there’s a conflict of interest at the very least.
I’ve always objected to the title “dreamers”, because natural born Americans have dreams as well… And apparently, to Democrats they don’t count.
How do I know that that’s the only thing that this shutdown is about? Observe recent history.
I ran this editorial cartoon just after the last shut down which was orchestrated by the Democrats. Yes, Nancy Pelosi and Charles Schumer.
They were willing to shut down the government then and hold the country hostage so the sole purpose of importing Democrat voters. They are doing precisely the same thing now. That’s the unspoken truth in all of this. It is the Democrats who are holding this country hostage.
I’ll bet you’re not even aware that the Senate took up a votes just recently 2 hazy federal workers while the government was shut down. Guess who voted against it? That’s right, Democrats.
And not just once, either. But three times so far.
Funny how we never saw anything about this in the lamestream media
A few days ago, a tweet from Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw caught my attention. He mentioned an effort by House Republicans to force a vote on a bill that would have ensured that federal employees at agencies shuttered by the partial government shutdown — including furloughed workers — would receive their first paychecks of 2019. This push was made in the form of a ‘motion to recommit,’ one of the few legislative tools available to the lower chamber minority, and it was soundly defeated, despite half-a-dozen Democrats crossing the aisle to join the GOP. Crenshaw said this development had not been reported widely, and he was right. Even I hadn’t heard about it:

Democrats’ top talking point throughout this entire partial shutdown has been the plight of unpaid federal workers. Many are living paycheck to paycheck, they’ve explained, and are therefore struggling to make ends meet during this political standoff. House Republicans responded by seeking a narrow method to pay these people. Nancy Pelosi and her party have now twice defeated these attempts, calling them “political stunts.” I wonder if the government employees would be as dismissive of bipartisan efforts to pay them. What’s useful about this exercise is that it’s clarifying: In spite of their protestations and theatrics, Democratic leadership’s top priority is not helping these workers. It’s refusing to give in to Donald Trump’s core demand that precipitated this standoff.
Oh… and I beg of you to not let the line about a wall being immoral sway you.
First of all, I don’t know about you, but I refuse to let the Democrats lecture America on morality after what we’ve seen the last few decades from them.
Even absent that glaring hypocrisy, remember that these same people not so very long ago, when there was a Socialist big government Democrat in the White House, wanted a wall along the southern border.
Or, so they said.
The Democrats could end this in a moment by funding the border wall. They won’t because they know if it gets built, they’ll lose out on all the brand new Democrat voters coming over the Border.
That’s what this is about. That’s always what this has been about. being able to bollix up Donald Trump’s agenda is a nice to have as far as the Democrats are concerned. But the core of this has always been DACA. That’s the end game.
And the Democrats must not succeed in this or it’s game over for the country.
There are actually newspapers in Washington DC that are worth the paper they’re printed on. For example the Washington Examiner:
Nathan Phillips, the Native American activist who falsely accused Covington Catholic High School students of blocking him during a confrontation he initiated, has a criminal record — including assault and escape from jail — and appears to have misrepresented his military service.
Phillips, 63, suggested high school junior Nick Sandmann, the teenager at the center of the viral encounter after separate D.C. rallies, face expulsion for failing to “accept any responsibility” or apologize to Phillips publicly.
In his own teenage years and early 20s, Phillips, using his adoptive name Nathaniel R. Stanard, was charged with escaping from prison, assault, and several alcohol-related crimes, according to local news reports at the time from his hometown of Lincoln, Neb.
Meanwhile, The Washington Post is busy issuing corrections, that few people will note. Breitbart however does.
The latest blunder follows a string of missteps by the establishment media who rushed to condemn a group of Covington Catholic High School students for there behavior during a confrontation with Philips on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
Blunder? Perhaps.
I mean, if you want to be generous about it, okay we can call it that. But the fact of the matter is it’s been happening all too often these days.
It’s as I have been saying on other subjects… you don’t get the kind of consistency we’re seeing out of the mainstream press these days without two things going for you… Talent, and intent.
we have been seeing this kind of stuff coming out of the mainstream press where they are overtly supporting the left, that it makes laughable reclaim said there were innocent mistakes involved.
I mean, maybe it’s just me, but observing what’s been going on with our mainstream press and the distance between them and the truth of the matter, even limiting those talking points to the last 2 years, ( Kavenaugh, the Russian collusion scam, the lack of coverage on Hillary Clinton’s misdeeds, while doing 90 some odd percent negative coverage of Donald Trump, BuzzFeed getting caught with its pants down) it’s hard to come to any other conclusion then our mainstream media is little more than a cheering section for the Democrat Party.
I’ve heard some suggest that it’s time for the mainstream media to do some soul-searching. Thing is, given the kind of left-leaning we are all seeing from the supposed mainstream media,I wonder if they have any.
At this point the question becomes what, if anything, can be done about all this. I suspect did in the end the only thing that can really be done, is what the Covington high school kids lawyers are doing. Lawsuits against those distributing and in fact promoting the inaccuracies.
Granted, that such lawsuits are dangerous ground in both directions. And certainly, we are going to see arguments that such lawsuits put in Jeopardy our understanding of the First Amendment.
Which in turn I label as ironic since, particularly in the case of the Covington high school kids, what of the respect of the First Amendment allowing them to wear their “make America great again” hats?
I also wonder how serious a punishment such places as WaPo are going to get even if they lose such lawsuits. As the old saying goes, “what once were vices now are habits”. They’ve been getting away with this stuff for so long now that it is logical to ask if they can ever be taken to task legally for it.
* The minimum wage is now and always has been and always will be, zero. Man-made laws can’t change that.
* The Democrats have tried to impeach every Republican president since Eisenhower. Every single one. Every single one of them was treated by the Democrats as a world-ending crisis.
* The H is silent in BengHazi.
* What is so often referred to as progressive politics isn’t progress at all….it is regression
* The worst mistake we ever made as a country, as a culture, as a people, was to turn the education of our young over to the government.
* If gun control laws actually worked as advertised, Chicago would be the safest place in the world. As it is, there were over 3,000 people shot in Chicago last year alone.
There is perhaps no more obviously prevalent bias than our supposed mainstream media, against anyone that dares to oppose what laughingly passes for liberalism today. Perhaps the most obvious example of this in recent days have been two stories that have come to the fore…
# The many times debunked fake story from BuzzFeed which I wrote about the other day, and
# the reports that everybody in the mainstream media jumped all over about teenage Catholics at the Lincoln memorial supposedly harassing a native American. Mister Fake but Accurate himself wrote to that story, even 24 hours after it was totally debunked, complete with video.
In both cases, the stories were proven to be outright lies within 24 hours. And yet, the supposed mainstream media managed those stories on the air until such time as they drilled it into your heads that ‘orange man bad”, “Republicans bad”, “anyone that isn’t a Democrat is a Nazi” and so on.
Thing is, precisely none of it is true. Both stories have been revealed to be complete fabrication.
However, the leftist media proceeded to run these stories so the next 24 hours long after they were disproven. Congressional Democrats chimed in, singing the same song they’ve been singing since Eisenhower was president, “the impeachment blues”.
(That’s right gang, every Republican president since Eisenhower is been in Target of an impeachment attempt by the Democrats. Right down the line, every single one. you didn’t really think this frothing-at-the-mouth Democrat Party was something new, did you really?)
And of course in the midst of all of this we see Dan Rather opening up about how what happens there is the parents fault, that these kids have not been taught any decency and so on.
Again, his comments came well after the story was proven to be false by video.
I told Rather, point blank;
The fact of the matter is that Mr. Fake but accurate has struck again. This story was debunked almost 24 hours before Rather posted this piece.
So let’s see, BuzzFeed put something up, that’s totally bogus, and the news media manages to keep it in the news cycle for 24 hours or so hammering it into our heads…”orange man bad”…
Then we end up with this thing at the Lincoln memorial, where a Democrat activist and someone who was pulled this kind of stunt several times now goes after a bunch of teenage kids, and the leftist media makes them out to be the villains. After all, anyone who isnt a Democrat is a Nazi. Mr. Fake-but- accurate jumps on… guess which side?
Go ahead mr. Rather, tell us all about how the news media isn’t biased. How are you guys aren’t willing to lie to support your political goals.

I note an article over at The New Neo, that is certainly worth reading the entire article, but here’s a piece of it…
One of the most chilling aspects of the hatred fanned by the duplicitous reporting on the videotaped incident regarding the Covington students and the 60-something Native American has been the venomous rage directed against the face of one of the students, as well as the conclusions drawn about the expression on the face and what it might signify about the person. . . .
“Bullying” doesn’t even begin to describe what has been done to Sandmann by supposedly responsible and thoughtful adults. Even if the original story of what occurred had been true—and it was most definitely not—the depth of the rage would be way out of line. . . .
What is it they “recognized”? A face that is now permissible to hate, apparently; they’re not shy about writing about their hate and signing their names to it. That face is white, male, and supposedly “privileged” (whether they know a single thing about that person’s actual life circumstances or not). I have come to think of it in a kind of shorthand as hatred towards the “frat boy” in their minds. And it’s not new, although I’ve never before seen a national eruption of this hatred expressed towards someone who is not yet an adult
This hatred is bigoted and prejudiced, pure and simple. The hatred’s origins lie not just in the work the media had undertaken to shape its audience towards feeling this hatred—although that is most definitely part of it—but it also is an opportunity for the viewer to draw in all sorts of historical references to other white men and/or boys they have grown to hate, and to make often-absurd parallels.
The fact is, this is the kind of thing that the Democrats and the Press (but I repeat myself) has been engaging in for some time. Years. Many years.
And looking at these events over the last 72 hours I can’t help but wonder if what we have here isn’t a press that has decided along with AOC that it’s more important to be morally correct then it is factually correct. Which of course insists that we accept their reading on what is and is not moral.
This, separately is their version of morality.

Okay let’s call this what it is. Buzzfeed once again published a flat-out lie. They knew they were publishing a flat-out lie. I suggest that rises to the level of criminality, particularly given that they were the ones who posted the original Hawaii in all this, the bogus Steele dossier. They just never figured Muller, partisan as he is, would open his mouth and douse that particular flame.
Frankly, I didn’t either, since it’s at the least highly unusual for a special counsel to dispute a story regarding an investigation.
I suspect, though I can’t point it anything at the moment the Muller is trying to show the world that he’s not what he is…. a partisan hack.
I mean, think about this for a moment. This fabrication from BuzzFeed was the top story on all of the lamestream media all day yesterday. As obviously the Democrat operatives, one of which co-wrote the story, intended.
It’s already been observed that this fake stuff out itself usually within 24 hours. The pattern has held.
Watching the reaction to this story when it first came out though is revealing I think. It reminded me of nothing so much as sharks sensing blood in the water. The lamestream media other the word impeachment over 200 times in the 24-hour period of yesterday. I think their reactions rise to the level of criminality as well. But of course all we’re going to get out of this is embarrassed silence from the ones who were screaming so loudly yesterday.
How many times over the last two years have we heard words to the effect of “we finally got Trump”?
Keep in mind, Donald Trump was never my guy to start with. I still have my problems with him. However it seems to me that what we have from yesterday’s events is a list of people who are willing to sign on to an outright lie in order to hurt Donald Trump…. And have no regard for the truth whatsoever.
That again, that’s Democrats for you.
Does anybody remember Obama shutting down the national parks and all of the veterans memorials, wrapping them in Barrycades, having shut down the government because Congress wouldn’t approve Obamacare?
So today we find the Nancy Pelosi has to fly commercial until such time as she actually comes back to the negotiations table so as to provide security for American citizens. Oh, the humanity!!! Well, in Pelosi’s case, not so much.
The moral of the story is Democrats use shutdowns against American citizens. Republicans use shutdowns for American citizens.
A brilliant move on Trump’s part, or whoever came up with that idea. There is nobody more angry than the Democrat who has just figured out said his own tactics are being used against him.
Pelosi is worth multiple millions of dollars and yet she’s managed to do that on $178,000 worth of salary per year? How do you suppose she managed to get that rich? I’ll tell you part of it, by taking her vacations the taxpayers dime. In other words you and I are paying for it.
As I said on my Facebook page the other day, observing the actions of congressional Democrats down in Puerto Rico…if the Republicans had done that after taking over Congress a couple of years ago, being drunk on the beach and watching Broadway shows on the taxpayers dime, do you suppose the Press would be all over it like a wet t-shirt?
Trump’s action serves to provide the American people the service of exposing t stunning arrogance of Pelosi and her breed.
That said, I think the point would have been better made if he had waited until she and her Entourage were over there, then cancel the return flight.
Things that occur to me along the way….
Perhaps Donald Trump should tax anyone who doesn’t want the wall. You know, rather like Obama’s Healthcare take over.
*Nancy Pelosi is not wanting Donald Trump to do his State of the Union message, not for the stated security reasons, but because, like the 10-year old bringing home a bad report card, she knows she’s going to get spanked. See also, her refusal to meet with the mothers of the murder victims of illegal aliens who showed up at her office the other day. The very same reason is behind that action as well. If there is a more disgusting spectacle in politics today I don’t know of one.
* Ponder the idea that the Democrats both in the federal government’s and in the LA county School district…(remember, the teachers union there is run by democrats) refuse to negotiate. Meanwhile China and North Korea are negotiating. So, what we have here is a situation where communist dictatorships are easier to negotiate with than Democrats.
* If you rob a bank in a “sanctuary city”, does that make it merely an undocumented withdrawal?
* Speaking of sanctuary cities, what should we say about Rahm Emanuel’s promise to illegals that they will always be safe in Chicago? I suppose that depends on how you define “safe”, since we’re dealing with something on the order of 3,000 people shot in 2018 within the confines of Chicago. Maybe lawlessness doesn’t work?
* If immediately following their election, taking over the house and the Senate, the Republicans were flying down to Puerto Rico for the purpose of getting drunk on the beach and seeing Broadway plays, while there was a crisis going on here at home, do you think the mainstream media would be all over it?
* The very same people that don’t want you to own firearms, are the same people that want to own you.

If there’s one thing that can be said about Elizabeth Warren declaring her intent to run for the presidency, it’s that there doesn’t seem to be a great deal of enthusiasm among Democrats about it.
Similarly, Bernie Sanders’ presidential plans don’t seem to raise anybody’s heart rate… Nor does Joe Biden’s. The artificial Hispanic, Beto O’Rourke? Flatline. (Name recognition doesn’t help when people can see clearly that there’s no “there, there. How bad does one have to be for Democrats to see you as nothing more than a ball of fluff and salesmanship? Kamala Harris? Yawnsville. AOC? Laughter. (Clouds must look down on that one and say… “Hey that one is shaped just like an idiot!”) Andrew Cuomo? Yes, he’s making a lot of the right left-wing noises. For example, the recent banning of plastic bags in New York, unilaterally….(the legislature was nowhere to be found on that one.) The reality is, the man is one step away from a corruption investigation which will kill any chances of his participating.
So it is across the board. The fact of the matter is that the Democrats have absolutely nobody that can possibly run in 2020 with the slightest chance of actually obtaining the White House. And it appears they’ve begun to notice.
Oh sure, there’s lots of vitriol coming out of the Democrats for Donald Trump and anything else to the right of Fidel Castro these days. Trouble is, from their viewpoint, there’s nobody that can fulfill these socialist wet dreams of theirs. Nobody that’s actually able to garner votes in the general election, will ever make it past the left wing of the Democrat party, and versa/visa And the thing is the Democrats as a whole, know it. The understanding is beginning to Dawn on them that’s simply hating Donald Trump is not worthy reason to elect someone. One must have an actual, workable, agenda. the agenda that we see amongst the Democrats these days, particularly in the list above is, “free stuff for everybody”… And the recognition has begun to dawn, that’s such an agenda is unsustainable.
Oddly enough, that understanding comes from eight years of watching Obama’s incompetent bumbling, and from watching the man who they consider to be a total screwup setting the country on the right path again pretty much before the echo died from taking the oath of office.
Oh don’t misunderstand me, they will eventually find somebody to be the Democrat standard-bearer in 2020. The thing is even the Democrats have begun to understand that they will be approximately as popular as Walter Mondale, and for the same reasons.
A while ago I ran a post saying that France and the yellow jacket movement was the canary in the coal mine for the rest of the world, including these United States.
Today, I observe Glen Reynolds pretty much making the same points I did and expanding on them.

The reporter, Will Sommer, tweeted at around 3 p.m. EST: “Laura Loomer has walked off the stream, on her way to Pelosi’s house. One of her crew is claiming that it’s legal to jump the fence because there were no ‘no-trespassing’ signs. I don’t know about that!”
“One of Loomer’s pals is urging viewers to come and ask for ‘sanctuary’ at Pelosi’s house. He claims they’ll be allowed to stay and won’t get in legal trouble because ‘we’re not antifa.’ Hmm!” he continued.
